Just looking at the artwork represented there, and the overall feel of the product, makes me feel good about the set. I've been really upset with choices in artwork in the past 4 years or so - remember the huge squirrel on Might of Oaks being replaced by a cartoonish dude carrying a tree trunk? - but the art shown there, and the cards they represent, are all quality. The set is a good one and I think the artwork and overall flavour make 9th one of the best Core Sets ever. There's much room for improvement but I really feel like Magic is finally heading in the right direction again!
Cool pics! BTW, what were Chainer and SapphireTri yelling fake at?? From what I read it seems there was some storyline posted? ("4th line in the 2nd chapter is missing a dot")

They were joking.
The larger-than-precon boxes are deckboxes with sleeves.

Hey all... I'm retired, not dead. Check out what I'm doing these days (and beg me to come back if you want):
aren't there supposed to be official multiplayer rules in 9th? I think that the Big box next to the 2 player set is a multiplayer boxed set with the new multiplayer rules. just a thought.

below the Magic: The Gathering Logo on the Big Box there is a bluish-gray rectangle that looks like it might say Fat Pack.

Attack one beating chicken of 4 cards, then erase 3 minus from your battleax. Never in your main phase will you do a 4 cards risen, but McDonald of 2 to the punish-bin. Again, beat softly to the end.
9th has impressed me beyond all expectation, from the rumors of Kird ape and Hyppie being reprinted, to the realisation that my collection of Apoc Pain lands is going to see standard play again, it's all so very good!
Now, whre's this supposed new art for the mighty Yawgmoth Demon?
Maybe they decided do tournament/starter decks for the base set again? I used to buy starter decks for 4th and 5th edition all of the time but they stoped doing it with random cards so you have had to buy boosters. It would make sense as it would make sealed deck alot smoother in that it would be like the others with tournament pack and 2 boosters instead of 5 boosters like it has been.

People are products of their own ingenuity; they are who they choose to be.
Sweet Picture, But it too bad it fakes....Just Kidding.
We haven't seen anything that looks as good as 9th editon (Product Design) since Alpha and Beta. They finally made it look good.
I hope that big box is not the Fat Pack. Otherwise, I'm going to have trouble getting to my room while sneaking passed my dad.

Every time I destroy an opponent's creature, I jump on the table, yell "Boo ya, you son of a *****!", rip the card in half, urinate on it, then forcefully shove it down my opponent's throat.
Needless to say, I don't have many players in my playgroup anymore.
What is the large sealed box next to the 2 player set of? Is that just a sealed tournament box that is sized too tall?
Dude come on.....there is no Fat Packs for core sets...and that huge box inbetween the 2 player box is actually mostlikely a tin or a reg cardboard box full of something for 9th ed.....just like how they did Battle Royal and a Beatdown box......

They should honestly cause of whats in this set just drop the ""Coreset"" name and call it "Hardcore, Ya we did good" set.
After thinking about what that big box is I leaned into 2 choices:
1) its the back of the Precon box
OR
2) We got Special 4 player box.....lol

And I didn't think about the deck case box. Honestly now that I look at it again I see that. So I guess that guessing game is over.

It looks like they've done a great job with 9th edition (at least compared to 6th).

Unless they decide to commission a novel for a core set
Yes, 9th will have Fat Packs.
