I've always liked Zealous Inquisitor...having a common creature be able to deflect damage like that is awesome. Too bad he was in T2 back when Goblins were king. Maybe this time he will have a chance to shine!
Best part only 3 COPS, black, red, and choice. It was so annoying that so many uncommons were taken up by COPs that most people don't use even if they play white. Lots of great cards. I can't wait to see the black list.

first turn
Nick: I lay a swamp, tap, dark ritual...
Me: If you cast a hypnotic specter I'll punch you in the face
Nick:...ahh I take 3 points of mana burn
The reason I play black according to CrovaxtheCursed:
this list is very impressive... good thing i picked up a random PeV for like 4 bucks... thx r_e and source for the good juice...
looking at the list, im kinda curious on why ghostly prison and reciprocate weren't reprinted... they seem like the new breed of white staples, and i thought they were shoe-ins, but neither made it...

Am I the only one who doubts the accuracy of this list because it includes Paladin en-Vec ??? And they've said several times "No Protection in Core Sets cause it does 4 different things and that's too damn confusing for the n00bs"!?!?!?
Also, is it just me or are there no hosers (other than CoPs/Story Circle) any more? No Sanctimony and no Karma? That would make this the first hoser-free Core Set ever methinks... (if this info is correct).
And there is also rumor that they will introduce friendly gold cards in the core set. Protection is a big part of the game, and to not have it introduced to players early on is doing them a great disservice. Most new players will eventually purchase expert cards. Expert cards have Protection. Ergo there should be a rare introduction to protection in advanced sets.
I would have liked to see Reciprocate and Ghostly Prison in the core set, but that's what tenth edition is for.
I'm very surprised to not see the 'textless' card reprinted though, you would think that they would want to see them get as much type 2 play as possible.

Its rare, its the only one, and its a great card. The "n00bs" are just gonna have to deal.

If it is, I'll just make sure to sac one of my one drops instead.

Veteran Cavalier (I'd rather play Hand of Honor or Samurai of PC as my 2 drop)
Why not just play them all? I know I would.

Thanks Elf
I give the Elf much thanks as well, but you sir have big cahones for posting such spam in the new and improved Rumor Mill Gustapo Edition. :tongue2:
They didn't like token generators for the core set either, but they put Rukh Egg in the base set. Having one protection creature in a rare slot is totally appropiate.
Does make you wonder if all the Trample creatures in 9th will be rare.

I'm wondering if they're going to make them not just rare, but that they'll only put in *one card* for each of these complicated mechanics. You know, to introduce newbies to the advanced base mechanics by giving them just one card that might puzzle them.
So...one card with trample (FoN). One card with Protection (PeV). One card with Islandwalk (Fishliver Oil).
What else might they introduce? One card with rampage (maybe Wolverine Pack)? One card with Indestructibility (Colossus?!?)? One card with double-strike (Ridgetop Raptor)?
One card with...gasp...banding? Okay, maybe not.

New Webcomic -- Genocide Man Life is funny. Death is funnier. Mass slaughter can be hilarious.
It's good to see Wrath is still around, and Gift of Estates is also in.
Does anyone smell some sort of white control deck in the future.
Although we have only some pieces in the Kamigawa block, such as Final judgement and ghostly prison, i wouldn't leave it out of my mind.
Still, good to see my favorite color on the rebound.

The info I had previously relayed (at least as far as white and blue, including the CoP adjustment) seems to be confirmed here. I guess my source will be considered believable as long as the rest of the spoiler holds up?

Colossus has trample.
That said, Darksteel Gargoyle is indestructability without trample or protection.
Have they suggested that they are considering bringing rampage back? It just seems like a lot of dead design weight.

For some reason, with the painlands and the spoiler, I see Green/White coming back. I mean come on, not only your creatures don't have to tap, but they can have Rancor too!

Woot, look what happens when you spend a couple of days without posting!
Gosh, I love the list. Only one complaint: I would much rather see Mother of Runes (as a rare, because of the rules complications of protection) than Paladin en-Vec. It's not like mom's that overpowered or anything, really.
Anyway, Big thanks elf! Looks like white is the best of the bunch, which makes me wanna go .
Yow, no kidding everyone. White gets the lion's share of goodies this time around, sheesh. All of the following are great to see:
Aven Cloudchaser
Ballista Squad
Blinding Angel
Blinking Spirit
Circle of Protection: Black
Circle of Protection: Red
Demystify
Gift of Estates
Glorious Anthem
Holy Day
Holy Strength
Infantry Veteran
Ivory Mask
Leonin Skyhunter
Mending Hands
Pacifism
Paladin en-Vec
Peace of Mind
Reverse Damage
Righteousness
Sacred Ground
Sanctum Guardian
Savannah Lions
Serra Angel
Serra’s Blessing
Skyhunter Prowler
Soul Warden
Spirit Link
Story Circle
Suntail Hawk
Tempest of Light
Veteran Cavalier
Weathered Wayfarer
Worship
Wrath of God
Damn, that's virtually the entire list. Of the "new" reprints, I'm extremely eager to try Gift of Estates and Veteran Cavalier. Palading en-Vec is an extremely nice reprint, as Soul Warden. White weenie is going to be down right scary now. I always liked Peace of Mind, since it turns each dead card into 3 life for W, any number of times per turn. With WW's incredibly low curve, and ability to draw tons of lands in 9E, I think Peace of Mind will be rather good in Standard.
For JUST creatures, WW has, at the 1-drop the following cards that are actually playable, if not downright great, in Standard:
It also has the following playable 2-drop critters in Standard:
Auriok Bladewarden
Auriok Champion
Auriok Steelshaper
Eight-and-a-Half-Tails
Hand of Honor
Kami of Ancient Law
Kentaro, The Smiling Cat
Leonin Den-Guard
Leonin Shikari
Leonin Skyhunter
Leonin Squire
Samurai of the Pale Curtain
Sensei Golden-Tail
Tallowisp
Veteran Cavalier
That is one helluva impressive list of just creatures to choose from, with tons of different WW variants being entirely possible. Expect to see a lot of white in Standard.
Absolutely amazing! Very very impressive list. So many "please don't hurt me" spells. Nice flyers, as ever. Kami of the Big Butt. Cool.
:dance2: Anthem, Blinding, Serra, Blinking Spirit, Lions, ***, Wayfarer.
Gift of Estates (I will surely try it, although it's no Tithe at all), Ivory Mask, Paladin, Soul Warden, Reverse Damage (!!!), Sacred Ground, Worship, and more...
