Remove target creature from the game and draw cards equal to its power. At the beginning of your next upkeep, return it to play and discard cards equal to its toughness.
The way this is worded you can remove any creature, that's why I voted instant, so i can remove my oponent's creatues, also this way you can use it during combat. I think 4W is too expensive so i voted 2UW
I could really only see this as being used in U/W control for defensive reasons right now, or as an aggressive U/W/Splash trick to get extra use out of a CIP ability. Good card though, I like.
I voted for 2WU instant, seems to be the general concensus.:)

I vote for 1UW. It seems as though it will only see use in Extended Ravager decks (and then it might be used as a sideboard card for other decks packing both U and W). As-is it has a pretty narrow use anyway...
This card is unplayable AS an instant. Given that it costs ATLEAST 4 mana in that form and that if you use it as a combat trick or to save your creatures from a sorcery an opponent casts...
the discard delay then triggers AT THE BEGINNING OF YOUR NEXT UPKEEP thus keeping those cards in your hand...it should be called HAND FLICKER... It's like flicker for your hand size...
This YMTC3 was doomed as soon as every horny little boy voted for the picture of the girl...thus creating a very narrow flavor window for card mechanics... "Hmm what can we make the girl with mystical fairy dust coming out of her finger do..."
So now you end up with a card thats possibly just an improved version of idea's unbound.. If you use it on your opponents turn the only thing you'll cast is an instant... And if you are playing blue/white control I think your opponent will wise up and not cast anything when you have 10 cards in your hand...
But I guess in all fairness it would interact well with the wisdom mechanic...but if it doesn't make it into the Ravnica block then it doesn't even have that going for it...
Last but not least the flavor of the mechanic... Take the mechanic, take the picture, what is happening in this card? I name it Impregnate into the Aether
And yes I'm aware that there is a narrow repetoire of creatures that will net you cards if you use it on them.
EDIT: I vote that next YMTC only people from salvation should be allowed to submit mechanics...and only people over 18 should be allowed to vote for the art to avoid the picture with the chick on it winning over art #4 the one with the beautiful flaming thingie that wasn't all sketchy like this one...
Yes indeed, because we all know that the sole purpose of anything remotely female is for testosterone heavy teenagers to stare at in the bathroom .
People voted for it because they thought it was the best art, not for any other reason. Well...a few random individuals may be exceptions.
And, lets face it, if the Red Rune had won, it would have turned into a Seal of Fire, or some form of burn. It's just how these YMTC's work.
Who voted for this mechanic anyways? What a completely horrible mechanic to have in a you make the card thing. Here we have a really conditional mechanic that relies completely on having a creature worth sliding out. The mana cost it looks like it's going to get are in the two colors that rely the least amount on creatures. And all the mana costs we have to vote for are way too high anyways, plus the art on the card sucks also. This has all the makings of being a completely horrible crap rare, and this whole "You make the card" thing is a joke. First the random art, then the completely random mechanics that had nothing to do with the random art, and now the mana costs that make the card completely useless in every way shape and form.
Someone should edit in an "I don't care" option. I'll vote for that.

I agree. I was sure the flicker time walk was winning.
Though that one is still irrelevant.
Damn. We have made a crap rare.

I can't remember the first one. I know the second was that stupid land thing in Fifth Dawn, but what was the first one? It wasn't Spiritmonger, was it? Cause if you're saying the 'monger sucks, we're going to exchange words, friend.

Or on your opponent having one, which is not really such a hard thing to expect.

From our poll, even with a sizeable margin of error, I think it's safe to say that the 2WU instant is going to win. That's a shame. I wish people could look more at the 'delayed-flicker' part more than the card drawing. But then, MaRo himself said card drawing has a powerful allure...
Er, what? The card-drawing half of the card is still useful even if the card's a sorcery. It's the flicker part that is making people vote instant, because sorcery speed would eliminate 3/4 of all the cool uses of the flicker effect (just like making Flicker itself a sorcery made it useless in play.)
This YMTC3 was doomed as soon as every horny little boy voted for the picture of the girl...
actually i seem to remember it was one of the better pieces we had to choose from, woman or not. some of the submitted works were garbage. though i will agree that the picture and the mechanic really don't look like they match too well. they should flip flop the order of the votes IMO.
Remove target creature from the game and that creature's controller draws cards equal to its power. At the beginning of your next upkeep, return it to play and it's controller discards cards equal to its toughness.
wouldn't it be really nice to see it worded this way?
Then why wasn't it played in Extended? Even with many decks running huge numbers of non-basics and Wasteland in the format, nobody ever played it.
In extended, costing 3 mana is prohibitive. In t1, you can easily do something like this:
Turn 1: Strip Mine, Mox, Mox, CoW.
Not counting artifact mana, this leaves your opponent with 1 mana to play with for the entire game. In extended?
Turn 1: Wasteland, go
Turn 1: Mountain, Jackal Pup, go
Turn 2: Land, go
Turn 2: Wasteland your Wasteland, Mogg Fanatic, attack, go
Turn 3: Land, go
Turn 3: Mountain, Firebolt, Seal of Fire, attack, go
Turn 4: Wasteland, CoW, go
Type 1 also has Mishra's Workshop-that's usually how Crucible gets out so fast. Between Workshop, moxen, lotus, even ritual... it can be done, rather easily, even. I believe some decks even run crucible as a sideboard AGAINST wasteland/strip mine.
Anyway, if our poll is any indication, 2WU Instant should win... I mean, the winning mechanic was in 2nd in our poll, but it was close. There doesn't look to be much contest, here. Then again, this is hardly a good statistical sampling of the voting public. *shrug*
I was thinking along the lines, this would be a nice card to splash in a number of decks... so in the casting cost seemed good. But an instant for :4mana::symw: seemed 1 mana too much to be competitive. So I settled for the Sorcery :3mana::symw:. Yeah sorcery takes out the whole battle trick idea, but if you are using this on your opponents creatures, it is probably to clear a blocker to finish your opponent. Sorcery does that fine. Giving white card draw (for high power to defense creatures) seems enough. I can see why people want this as an instant... but :2mana::symu::symw: is going to really limit this cards inclusion in decks. Actually all of these casting costs seem a tad on the conservative side... I hope in play testing this card, R and D decides they can afford to drop a mana from the CC. Unlikely though.
i also when with the 2WB choice. Given what the card does i thought that in order to be its best it needed to be an instant yet still a cheap costed one. Since this was one of the best costs i chose this.

1 card made by us is used. We need at least 2/3. Instant o-rama.
What decks will use it though? Some Fish Variant?

Perfect draw? Strip Mine can be Wasteland, and the Moxes can be Lotus Petal, Sol Ring, Mana Vault, Chrome Mox, Black Lotus, Mox Diamond, etc.
And obviously RDW isn't the only deck that plays stuff early, it was an example.
