Well, let's see. If you have a 2 {W/G} {W/U} card, the options for casting it are:
2WW
2GW
2WU
2GU
I note the maximum number of colors in any of those combinations is 2. This sounds like a plausible idea, then. Originally, I thought this was a horrible idea, until I actually went through this rudimentary analysis and noticed you can't have a 3-color card.
This is very subtle. I note that the only difference between 2 {W/G} {W/U}, 2 {G/W} {G/U}, and 2 {U/G} {U/W} is the choice of what color the 'pure' form can be.
Me, and everyone else who understands the rules of Magic well enough to know that a card's colour is separate from its casting cost even though it defaults to being based upon it.
You don't seem to be grasping the conversation.
If there are new symbols that stand for "blue or black," and "white and green," and so on, then the rules will say that that's what those symbols mean.
The question then becomes, how do we REMIND players which symbol is which?
One hypothetical answer is that if a card with the blue and black symbol, for example, says, "This is a blue and black card," then you would be REMINDED that THAT SYMBOL is the blue/black symbol.
You're confused, because you're thinking that the REMINDER has to PROVE which symbol is which. No, it doesn't.
In Nemesis, cards with Fading had reminder text. Except Parallax Wave. Parallax Wave didn't, because it wouldn't fit. Now, I suppose if you had been there, you might have said that the word "Fading" on Parallax Wave meant "red, white and green." Or perhaps you might have said, "'Fading' means nothing here!" But you would have been wrong. THE RULES told us what "Fading" meant.
What we're talking about is what might they use to REMIND people. If it turns out to be true that {U/B} cards exist, and that they're blue and black, and that the {U/B} symbol is, for example, a spider, then text that says "This is a blue and black card" on a card with nothing but a spider symbol would indeed remind everyone (but you) that the spider symbol is the blue and black one. Whether you like it or not.
Here is a completely different hypothesis: The guild mana symbols are actually colored. Each symbol is divided in two, sort of like a yin-yang symbol, and the two colors can be discerned.
OK here is some rudimentary ideas about what the different guilds' themes might be mechanically and flavorwise.
B/W Guild: Given Vindicate, and the fact that between them they can destroy any permanent type, I suspect that this color will be all about removal. I suspect that they are judges.
G/B Guild: Based on the leaked cards, I see this as a color of Reanimation and Regeneration. Again it is in both colors. Rouges in a forest who won't die is my guest for flavor. Maybe ghosts?
U/B Guild: This will probably be a guild based on knowledge. Mechanichaly this will be Draw and Discard. This fits with the leaked card. Flavorwise, a group of spies who want to knwo everything, and then take action
U/W Guild: A guild of Lawmakers. They make the rules. Mechanicaly Global enchantments.
R/B Guild:BOOOM!!!!!!!!!!! Just lots of destruction, not targeted. Instead like Earthquake or Hideus Laughter. Terrorists flavorwise.
R/G Guild: Big Things Guild. Big guys. Yeah. Fatties.
R/U Guild: Mages. Card that reward you for playing spells.
G/W Guild: Clerics. Lifegain. Protection. And Tokens.
G/U Guild: I am having a lot of trouble with this one. I just don't see where these colors interesect. And I am not just going to randomly put something down.
With "YMTC3" propably featuring in 'Delete' we might start considering that the W/U-guild will be in the final triplet as well
It might be... but YMTC3 is no indication of it. If it's not one of the first 4, it has a 50% chance of being in the last triplet... 4/3/3 doesn't mean ALL multicolor cards in a set are of the featured guilds' colors, it just means there is a FOCUS on them.
Also, a WU card doesn't have to have ANYTHING to do with the WU guild. They are NOT synonyms. I very strongly doubt they'll be putting the name of the guild on all or even MOST of the cards of the appropriate combination. If we were talking about one of the cards with 'guild mana' for the casting cost, then well maybe.
Anyway, final point against YMTC3 'suggesting' anything:
Delete is out of design and into development by now. What color pairs the set focuses on would have been decided LONG ago. YMTC3 could have produced a card of ANY color or combination--they have no real control over that, and if anyone suggests a WotC conspiracy to pick only mechanics that fit the color pairs of Ravnica I swear I'm gonna hit something.
In other words... think, but don't OVERthink some of this stuff.
G/U Guild: I am having a lot of trouble with this one. I just don't see where these colors interesect. And I am not just going to randomly put something down.
So what do you guys think?
G/U: Instant creatures, card draw via combat damage, mulch, index effects. Small creatures that can be evasive.
At least that is my general opinion. I like the rest of your ideas.

Ah, this makes sense. I like the instant creatures paticularly. Perhaps they are summoners? EDIT: I mean the guild. That explains the instant creatures.

I had to, I thought this was pretty funny. This, literally 2 lines after this:

Card draw - green and blue are the best card drawing colours. Also mastery of flying - blue is the best flying colour, green is the best anti-flyign colour.
What I meant by "rewards you for playing spells" is "rewards you for playing instants and sorceries" But I admit that was really funny. For example
{R/U guild}{R/U GUild}
War Mage
Whenever you play an instant or sorcery, you may pay 1U. If you do, draw a card.
Whenever you play an instant or sorcery, you may pay 1R. If you do, deal 2 damage to target creature or player.

That sort of thing.
