Honestly, the 3DRAW reference could also be Dream Cache. Not that it would be any good... I just don't think that Brainstorm's coming in this base set with what we do know about it... (not to mention what R_E said).

It could be Dream Cache.
It could be Brainstorm.
It could be Accumulated Knowledge.
Hell, it could be Ancestral Recall for all we know. We just don't know enough to figure this one out yet. Can we get this part of the thread split off and moved to Speculation?

Hey all... I'm retired, not dead. Check out what I'm doing these days (and beg me to come back if you want):
Hey everyone, I was just taking a break from adding SOK foils to my site to search for 9th information. I went on AIM and got a message from a guy I hadn't talked to in a while. Apparently he was in the bath the other night when a cannonball fell through his roof and crushed his spine! () As aweful as that sounds, luckily he did survive the initial impact, and when the doctors brought the 55 pound iron ball to his bedside (as a souvenir I guess) he noticed there was a scrap of paper stuck in the dried blood. It had a shred of the 9th edition spoiler on it! As he died (), he had his mother swear to contact me and pass the information on. He gave her his AIM password, and she indeed let me have the information. ()
Without further ado:
Fellwar Stone -
Artifact (U)
:symtap:: Add to your mana pool one mana of any color that a land an opponent controls could produce.
1st thing to take care off: The story is made-up but done well. It's made up because the human spines can't survive a force a dropped Cannon Ball of any weight higher than 25 pounds due to the overwheling pressured applyed by the ball. When over 25 pounds of pressure is apply at a fast rate, The spine snaps. It's little fact I learned on the Discovery Channel.

Ok, It's isn't the best colored mana making artifact *cough*Myr*cough* but I could see some used for it. It will get noobies to mix colors. And this might have been added for 9-9-9 drafts.

Are you drunk?!?! I came up with that insane story as I went, and tried to make it as unbelievable and idiotic as I possibly could. A cannonball falling through the roof and crushing a guy's spinal cord while he was in the bath? A chunk of the 9th edition spoiler stuck to the ball? And then, in this very thread, I apologized for the ridiculous story and said that I only made it up because I was sleep deprived.
I was going for humor... I guess it backfired or something! Unless you're simply carrying the humor forward, and it's going over my head now... :confuse4:
Anyway, I thought "3DRAW LUO" was going to be a pretty easy clue, but I guess not. I think the word "draw" is what is messing with people's heads. Remember that I said part of the phrase was cut off by bloodstains. Also, that 3 isn't really a 3, it's a letter.
It's not a card drawing spell! If you guys don't get it soon I'll just tell you. I'll check back later on tonight.
EDIT: I actually think Fellwar Stone is decent. It costs 2 and it makes 1, it comes into play ready to use, it's not a creature so it can't be shocked and it doesn't have summoning sickness, and a lot of the time it makes several different colours of mana.
For some reason the only thing that I can think of is a Hydra but that obviously isn't it. I don't even know why I think "hydra" of all things. Maybe I'm just too tired to think. I put "EDRAL" and a card search on a Magic vendor's website and the only thing it came up with was Goblin Piledriver and Cathedral of Serra. That's obviously not right, either.
[edit] The irony of Cathedral of Serra and the current Legend theme in Kamigawa just hit me. Talk about a delayed response. If they were to put something like that in a core set I'd die of laughter.
I prefered Brainstorm, personally But nice job, GrinningBuddha. I can't believe no one (including me) tried that backwards yet. As they say at my job, "Keep it simple." Now here'll come all the people to say "Oh I knew it, I was just waiting for everyone else to guess it!"
ok. i feel like a complete moron.
on the other hand. thank the planeswalkers (as it were) for a GREAT 1 drop. that will add to the white weeine builds and may even help boost them to TEIR 1.
thank you buddha
the 3 could be half of a B. Or it could be a misspelled E.
could it be mirrored?
oul ward... Soul Warden?
--I cannot believe I was beat to the punch by ten seconds... Piss me off.
Oh boohoo. I think you'll live without some slight recognition for guessing the card spelled backwords.
Anyway, I was considering building WW since I feel it'll be one of the only decks to survive post-Mirrodin rotation, and I'll definitely be going for it now. Thanks for the info R_E, and thanks to your source as well
Oh yeah, the story was funny, btw People in the Rumor Mill just take things too seriously sometimes, as I'm sure you know well
soul warden is hottt. fellwar stone is fine as long as it isn't reprinted rare. it's also better than the lousy diamond cycle.
you know thats a good point. fellwar should stay at uncommon (i damned well hope) but what will soul warden be. uncommon or rare? hopefull she will stay uncommon but with wotc's track record can we be sure she won't be shifted to rare?
oh and as to the story. get a life people. i mean come on. it was mildly funny. and should be treated that way. remember MAGIC is a GAME! its not real. its fun, amusing, etc. if you start taking the fun out of the game you lose the point of the game. so look at it speculate. talk. but remeber above all else. THE POINT IS TO HAVE FUN!

shut up, you're killing the fun.
@'rax: if you bribery a troll ascetic, you get to use felwar stone to regenerate it. or if you confiscate a kumano, you can tim something, ect.
they weren't talking about them stealing your land.

It was a Common in Exodus, not Uncommon as your speculation suggests you thought it was. However, its power and price tag suggest it shouldn't have been. Auriok Champion was a new Soul Warden and that was a rare, and justifiably so. The question is: Does the lack of Protection allow it to be uncommon? I think it'll be one of the hard-to-find uncommons; I can't see them doing a double rarity jump.
As for Fellwar Stone, I'm almost certain it'll be uncommon. It's clearly going to replace 8th Edition's Star Compass. So why change the rarity?
Soul Warden seems like it should stay common..it's ability really isn't that special, nor complicated, nothing jumps out to make it be uncommon.
Fellwar Stone should definetely stay uncommon, moving it to Rare would make no sense whatsoever. And it'd be very interesting to see it reprinted, even if it's too slow to affect the format anyway..for now, at least.
They're putting some nice creatures together in 9th. I personally like the Warden a lot. Plus, we have Shard Phoenix, Hippies, Llanowar Elves are back, Magnivore (ponza anyone?), Rathi Dragon (yes, ponza, please), and Verdant Force. I could get some of these...
Fellwar stone is in, and i think that's nice.
*** is out? Not sure, of course. If not, 9th could be the best core set EVER.

No, it's complaint-worthy, just not as complaint-worthy as some of the other crap we usually get, like Aladdin's Ring.
