Gotta say it. I like the LD spell. Because it's Arcane I can make it cost RR with the correct number of Goheis out. LD needs Sinkhole right? It makes me want to play a GR Spirt deck with Rootrunners Uproots and That card with Hana Kami woot.
eh, both of those cards dont seem very good imho.. Arcane LD is good, but thats a lot of mana to spend for it.. and that other one is interesting.. a nice trick late in the game to add some more pop to a creature

sinkhole is good because you can play it first turn with land + mox, or land + ritual + maybe a duress too
this is quite different because you need to invest 6 to make it cost 2 less
Yes. It's good cuz it costs 2. But I have an affinity for bad cards so don't see this as me trying to convince you that it's good... take it more like... I see this card as bad enough to try to save.

I never said I wanted to. I like drafting but I don't play Magic very often. It's fun to come up with bad decks with impossible card combinations. That's why I'm a Johnny. I've made decks with Chalice of the Void and Multani's Presence. Hell I made a deck based on Doom Cannon and Dross Scorpion O_o. If you knew me you'd understand better.
There's potential in every card. Johnnies like me tend to see more potential than what's actually there. I'm fine with oblivious-erm-nessity.
The second one reminds me of Berserk and they said the would put alpha and beta cards in the set (modified of course, like the would reprint black lotus).
I agree, these have to be real no one would think of making up bad cards at this stage and even if they did they'd at least include the names and no.'s. The 1st one is entirely "meh" its an arcane stone rain for R more, it'll probably see play along with stone rain and crack the earth in some sort of mono red ponza deck for block. The 2nd one is not only bad its a rare, paying 6 for half a beserk is not a good deal to my mind.
Pardon me.....but.....Jesus Christ, block constructed has plenty of land hate. Stone Rain, this card, Myojin of Infinite Rage, and Whatsitrare that was previewed last week. Suddenly the akki that get off on lands hitting graveyards isn't so odd or difficult anymore. However, they're power boosting doesn't come close the efficeincy of the Nim in Mirrodin Block. I dunno what water that holds in my argument, but meh.
The artifact there......seems like another one of those 'I want one at PR', and the week after people will see it and find no reason to play it. The major problem with it is it's definitly more of a finisher at non-instant speed, which, although not too difficult to pull off, gives more time than appreciated to get that creature through.

yes, that's not the point. the point is, if there were TWO "stone rains" in the block, things would degenerate very quickly
I think that Thoughts of Ruin costed at the exact same as this card is silly. Why destroy one land when you could sack so many more? I think Thoughts of Ruin actually makes for a good Armageddon in a Weenie deck. You could play Red like you played White Weenie before. But now instead of Geddon to get rid of their land you have ThOR.

.....I didn't really have a point, I was merely commenting on the cards. If I had a point to make it'd be the one you just mentioned.....

Heheh, if I were you I'd go around all over the place and start refering to Thoughts of Ruin as Thor, so you can have bragging rights for the nickname.....sounds clever.

What we're doing here is akin to taking the text of Moby Dick, locating specific words therein, rearranging them to create a passage from Fight Club, and concluding from this evidence that Tyler Durden is based on Ahab.
i wonder how come no one see the poster yet. i mean most of the stores already have all the products ready for the pre-release. someone should go take a peek at it before this weekend. i just cant wait to see the whole spoiler.

The differance is in rarity. Following this logic, it was silly to have Zap and Urza's Rage in the same format. Even then, there are times when you want to kill there 1 toughness dude and draw a card as opposed to wasting 3 damage on it just as there will be times when you want to take out a single land rather than scorching the earth on both sides of the table.

i assume they're sent to TO's, who if they want to ever run a prerelease again, will keep them under wraps
True wizards get really uptight if you give out stock, spoiler info or even show the posters before the weekend. None of the store owners or TO's around here would dare try it.
Will people stop comparing the arcane stone rain to T(h)oR they're totally different cards apart from the casting cost. 1 is targetted landD and could be used in block ponza decks(the fact you can splice glacial ray to it helps) whereas ThoR is a conditional armageddon and is best in a weenie beats deck like sligh or WR weenie.

now, now. it's also good on turn two
You're going to go far in the tournament world!
At least the spoiler's getting more complete.

Only one problem - Sunder From Within also destroys artifacts. :smile2:
