Secretgiant, we've already had the textless mana leak for ages and its not part of SoK so its not relevant in this post, feel free to make a new thread for it if you want.
Kagemoro, First to Suffer - 3BB
Legendary Creature - Demon Spirit (rare)
Kagemoro's power and toughness are each equal to the number of cards in your hand. B, Sacrifice Kagemoro: All creatures get -X/-X until end of turn, where X is the number of creature cards in your hand.

Adam Rex
Okina Nightwatch - 4G
Creature - Human Monk (common)
As long as you have more cards in hand than each opponent, Okina Nightwatch gets +3/+3. Only the most skilled Budoka could protect the Okina Shrine. Only the best of these protectors took the night watch.

Haha, I read Kagemaro as "target creature gets -X/-X" for some reason, and have been thinking, "pretty good, for sure". Guess it's all creatures. Very cool.
What we're doing here is akin to taking the text of Moby Dick, locating specific words therein, rearranging them to create a passage from Fight Club, and concluding from this evidence that Tyler Durden is based on Ahab.

The maros look to me like the Saviors Avatars, with one or two of them making a splash in a metagame focused on one or two strategies with weaknesses. I can see the blaro and the Uaro making waves in the format, thought perhaps Uaro isn't effective enough to combat Meloku for its spot. Maybe they could work together, solving crimes and mysteries as the super synergy twins (Meloku's ability gives Uaro +1/+1 while putting a creature into play).
I think that while the black and red avatars were obviously the best, this time around it will be black and blue, since blue is most able to keep a full hand, and black is most able to keep your opponent's creatures down and out.
I can see this card being sideboard at best for MBC. With our meta of Tooth and MUC this card is just useless. It can potentially pwn the MGA matchup though.

Congratulations. You have just discovered the secret message. Please send your answer to old pink, care of the funny farm, Chalfont.
I dig Kagemaro a lot in a black/x control deck. He'll probably be big, and if you need, sweep the board. As for the Nightwatch, I like them as well, but since this is the handsize matters set, I dunno how he will do in 3x Saviors. Still though, 5 for a for a 4/3 is decent, and the single green cc helps their case as well.
kagemaro, a super verison of hideous laughter(or *** for black i guess). on the other hand, i really like okina nightwatch, 5 mana for 4/3 is ok, it just one mana more than order of the sacred bell, but then it has an awesome ability. this card just smash ur opponent in the later game. one of the best common in the sok set so far.

How dare you forget to mention the fact that he was a writer on the sitcom Roseanne? May you draft naught but crap rares forever more!
Seriously though, the man has more magic cards named after than anyone, up to and including Kagemaro. It's bound to keep his ego chubby even after all the broken cards he designed (or is he actually proud of them?).

That Okina Night Watch is gonna be potentially sick in limited. 7/6 is huge. And that's without combat tricks! That's bigger than the land dragon (Moss Kami). Or for that matter, A Dragon. And Green's 5-drops have been lacking. 4-slot is very crowded, 6-slot has Moss Kami/Scaled Hulk. This is a card worth the maindeck IMO.
I heart this card, it has all sorts of 'Strong' going on, and in case anyone has missed the official nickname for Kagemaro it is:
'FRANK'
As in Donnie Darko baby...
I'd be so very pleased to pull one of these at the PR, is anyone else going to be taking pictures at their Prerelease tourneys, since we're about 16 hours ahead of most of you, I maybe the first one
I think Kagemaro is a big hit.
It is 6 mana to clear the board in most cases, which is what you have to pay for Judgement, and a heavy beater when you don't have to clear the board.
Personally I think it couldn't be much better !!

This may be the vicadin talking, but I totally agree with you on that name after looking at the picture again. I'm going to start calling this guy Frank from now on O_O

It's nice to see a card I have a special connection to (hey, I found the thing's name, after all) unveiled, and that it has the art I loved ever since I saw it is even nicer. And lo and behold, it's quite a good one too.
Thumbs up!

The more I look at Okina Night Watch, the stronger it seems. I'd definantly get it as a 3rd-4th pick in draft, if not 2nd (depends on the set's strength as a whole). This thing's biggest alure is its splashability- Could easily find a home in a 3-color sealed deck.
