After last monday's preview format (Where MaRo simply made his article link go to the card) I expected something similar from Jay Moldenwhaterver-salasomething. I've been hoping to see Sakashima all weekend, but I doubt they'd do it. Jay's pic from the Picture Hacking thread seems to be Skullsnatcher, which would be unique, you know, previewing a nonrare Betrayers card during Saviors preview week.
Rosewater's pic, however, is new.
*raise eybrow*
I guess Budget doesn't get a preview card. Oh well. Mybe there'll be two, like last week. Again, doubtful, but you never know.
----
Okay, it's almost the midnight hour. I'll be putting the cards at the top of the post when they come up, as well as down here. You know, for all the spoiled kids who want cards first.
For future threads, please include a proper thread title, and writeup, as Plastik did here. He posted his thread less than a minute after yours, which had nothing but the Image. Its no big deal, but its also not a contest.
Well, this certainly makes it seem like White Weenie won't be a problem in block anymore...
Just one more tool for the crazy gifts control decks.
EDIT: That common looks pretty good for drafting, but it would need to be in a more control-ish deck.

WotC: you should've kept the same team that designed Ravnica - they had some sense of creativity. The Guildpact team appears to have the combined resourcefulness of three baboons, a plunger, and a broken coconut. Go team!
Well I have to say I am impressed with the black Maro. While no Mutilate, a possibly large body with a possibly easily achieved board clearer built in is nothing to scoff at. Definitely cool.
As for the Night Watch: Nice for limited. While possibly just a more expensive Order of the Sacred Bell, the possibility to grow huge is always nice.
I think the irony of the synergy of it's two abilities is that it has to die (Did anyone notice the rhyme sceme here - irony synergy ability - ? GAH! Literature is LOST on you! I will also fix the hobo suit) to get them off? Unless buffed, it perfectly kills itself, every time. I like that. It's like a coup de gras of some sort.
The night watch, however, is kinda meh. It's well costed and everything, but it's just... meh. A 5cc 7/6 that turns into a 3/4 if you have a small hand. Mediocre.

"Kagemaro" appears three times in the Orb. All of them are used up by this here preview card.
So we have no "Kagemaro"s left for "Descendant of Kagemaro."
Kagemaro's comes up once. It's probably "Hookah, Kagemoro's Descendant".
1) the ability to destroy creatures is limited by the amount you are already behind in the game.
2) his ability to hurt an opponent is directly tied to his ability to destroy their creatures. If he is large enough to kill your opponent, you are likely behind enough that you have to use him to kill their creatures.
---
I think I prefer the blue one, as it provides its own method of growing, while providing you an evasion ability and a strong, synergetic card-drawing mechanism.
OK First card is meh to me even tho black may just have the best way to use him because of the the Arena and things like Night's Whisper... that and blue just happens to work well with the color a lot. Between that stuff, the new "Library" and the new "Jayemdae" these Maro's might work pretty well... As for that second, well it's a common, 'nuff said. BTW did I miss something or have we not seen the "unique" cards yet?
Also, I feel that this card will be phenominal in block constructed, due to the prevalence of small-assed indestructable creatures (yes myojin of night's reach, I'm talking to you).
Being able to remove them from the table will be a hefty step in the right direction, especially if your kagemaro is too small to be much of a threat to your opponent.
Kagemaro is absolutely fantastic, its cheap its a painless demon and you can sack it to neg. out all the creatures, its by far one of the best cards i've seen in SoK and i can see it finding a place in MBC in no time at all.
Okina Nightwatch is also a very nice card(for a common anyway) for only 1 more than order of the sacred bell you get exactly the same size and the possibility of it becoming a 7/6.
I think the irony of the synergy of it's two abilities is that it has to die.
i was just thinking about that... strap a little equipment tohim tokeep him out of his own way and you have the ability to clear the board when you need to (dependant on yourhand size, of course.)... i'm loving this card. killer effect with a really nice flow and logic built into the card...
EDIT: just RTFC... sacrifice... gotcha... my bad... i suck, but the card is still cool...

the green card is solid enough for me... really running with this hand size theme, aren't they?
I should have pointed out that it's why he's cool. It's like his death is making all the others die. A lot of creatures have a bunch of absolutely incomprehensable sac effects, but not Kagemaro. He seems to be hurling his corpe at everyone in a flavor-sense. It's awesome.

I have no extendo-sig. Sorry, I'm just not vain enough to think someone will click on it.
Kagemaro seems to raise an eyebrow.....this guy is either going to be really good, or one of those 'OMGOMGOMG MUST HAVE AT PRERELEASE!!1!one', and then it sucks ass. The only *big* problem I see with him is that unless your facing WW, in order to create a spontaneous wrath effect, you're most likely losing your own guys in the process. It's very nifty to activate post-combat, of course. Prevention, boosting....screw it....everyone dies.
EDIT: This guy works VERY well with the promissing Kanushi fellow....if you have even just two out, you get one and Kagemaro back, and net one card.....Hell, more soulshift guys died? more cards in hand to make Kagemaros next stand a little more powerful.
He's the best _maro that I've seen so far. Way better than the white one that is rumoured. This hand size matters thins is going to be strange in limited. I think I will try to go weenie beats just so I force some idiot to commit his hand before he gets any advantage. I guess that's wizards way of making white weenie actually work again.

Yes, I will jump upon the bandwagon. That way I don't have to push.
