I think he'll be a blue Huamn Wizard (or a polypris (maybe pentaprismatic???)) of nondescript size (2/2) with the ability to Clone another creature at will. Either that or 5 abilities on the card, one for doppleganging each color.

I have no extendo-sig. Sorry, I'm just not vain enough to think someone will click on it.
i think he clones legends or only legend abilites. another clone would be cool but id like the legend cloning ability it just seems more usuable cus if you clone a legend they would both die if you clone its ability ta da we have your card.

In a 1996 survey of musicians (on-line and in-person at Berklee College of Music in Boston) we asked this question:"Please describe the feeling you get (good or bad) from playing or listening to very loud music." Below are all the responses... 19/ M : Very good. Comments: I AM NOT DEAF! 44/M: Too vague a question. Loud "good" music would make me feel pumped. Loud "bad" music irritates me. Comments: This material and these questions made me give the "hearing thing" a bit of thought.
The story strongly suggests that he was able to successfully impersonate some legendary characters (the samurai general could be Takeno, maybe?), so I would guess that he should definitely have the ability to copy legends.
The story mentions that he gains the abilities of those who he impersonates, which means it's something stronger than a mere mistform ability, closer to true Vesuvan Doppelganger ability.
I think that he would be able to copy the creature type (in addition to being still a shapeshifter) and abilities of legendary or nonlegendary creatures. Looking at his story, he can change identity repeatedly, so the Clone legendarization would not fit the flavor.

From the story we know that sakashima is/was a human not a spirit and can change himself into other creature types more or less at will. The part which talks about everything he does being "average" also suggests that he doesn't have any major ability beyond the change of type. Also from the story the fact he's afraid of turning into a kami to escape suggests that he doesn't have the ability to become unblockable or anything.
If you actually read the story despite his cool looks and the vague fact that he's supposedly feared by the races and the kami alike it suggests that he's nothing more than a mistform creature from onslaught block like Mistform Warchief etc.

I think you're reading too much into it. Besides, he said he would probably succeed if he tried to escape disguised as a Kami, but couldn't be sure because the horde was mad and bloodthirsty and stuff. Anyway, the point is, not everything that happens in the story has to be literally represented on cardboard.
Remember though that he said that early on in his life he disguised himself as a kami and went into a temple, so it is possible for him to disguise himself as a kami (he snuck into the honden of night's reach as well, and that has to be hard). I agree that he should have the ability to gain all abilities and characteristics of a legendary creature (maybe non-spirit legendary creature? Just cuz he can impersonate a kami doesn't mean he can impersonate a powerful one.)
True but since kamigawais a flavour and strythemed block I hope it does!
Even so, cards would be terribly cluttered if they reflected every single storyline aspect. For example, Iwamori tried to beat Toshi up, but Toshi simply avoided his onslaught and trapped him on a magic cage. On cardboard, that Toshi would get his ass beaten up like mad, especially if no creature went to the yard.
I repeat, he was able to disguise as samurai general and monk master - i.e. not just any random creatures, but individuals, Legends - and he could still fool people who KNEW the originals. This speaks to me of something more than just type-changing.

Ah, but in the story, Toshi had the help of a weapon...

Ignorance may be bliss, but the ignorant are still stupid.
I think it would be cool if there were 5 different legends named "Sakasima, something something", of 5 of his different forms. A "super-legend" mechanic where only 1 of those 5 guys can be out at a time. A huge waste of cards in a small set, but very cool flavorwise.
What we're doing here is akin to taking the text of Moby Dick, locating specific words therein, rearranging them to create a passage from Fight Club, and concluding from this evidence that Tyler Durden is based on Ahab.
“I’ve traveled much in my search for Sakashima, learned many things. One of them is recognizing certain… qualities.” Hojo paused as the nezumi squirmed. “You’re ninja, aren’t you? Okiba-Gang? That’s why you’ve traveled so far away from Takenuma – I hear Marrow-Gnawer started a purge of your kind recently.”
Well, now we know why there are no ninjas in this set.

There are more reasons to collect the cards than just tournaments and profit.

It may be the other way around... I have 12 copies of Starlight invoker... and they do suck
And that was the best story they've had on the site, although Kentaro's was quite cool.

Anyway, this should be an interesting card. I wonder if he's limited to nonlegendary creatures? Hmmm...
