Legendary Creature - Human Advisor (R)
Whenever a source an opponent controls deals damage to you, that player sacrifices a permanent. "Watch over my father. Tell him I am safe, but I will not come home until I find out how to bring him back to his sense, and Kamigawa is again at peace." - Michiko Konda, last letter to General Takeno.

This is interesting, but a bit less splashy than I expected. Kamigawa block doesn't really have any game-winning enchantments (that I remember) except maybe the hondens... it could be very cool, though, in the right deck.
the white epic is disappointing, i expected something more.. as for michiko.. wow, that is a very nice card.. will get lots of play im willing to bet.. especially in U/W control type decks..
First card..,. all i have to say concerning extended is that plus Solitary Confinement in enchantress... that is if you can get the game to even go that long. 5WW is askin' a lot.
The second one is just amazing. Now my one question is, is there anything now that can damage white for more than one turn? The good news is at least its a burnable creature.
freaking LOVE Michiko! Ideals is definately interesting, but i don't see this card getting much type 2 play. although could be very nice in a Hondon deck now that i think about it.
Yeah, in T2, The white epic isn't exactly game winning. Puting into play all 5 hondens over the course of 5 turns is fun but not really tier 1 material (yeah, there are other enchantmets besides those, I just picked them on a whim). Once mirrodin cycles out then we will find out how good it is in T2.
Outside of T2: Enchantments > God
(sorry to religous peoples)
Cool! I think this might even get into T1 and EXT! Searching for huge enchantments like Form of the Dragon and Decree of * will be amazing!
Type 1? No. There's much cheaper, better colored ways to get out a Yawg's Bargain. As for Extended, probobly not, I just don't see anything powerful enough, but who knows. I do intend to build something around that Epic card though, just for kicks.
As for that other one... 4cc for a 2/2 with a pretty nifty effect. Looks fun, and effective, but it looks to have the drawback as other similar cards: Your opponent wont bother attacking you until it counts.

Not to complain or anything but my thread was up first.
Now that I thunk about it (for 13 minutes no less) Michiko is still pretty decent, but the Epic spell may simply be too slow for any format. I guess only time will tell.

I have no extendo-sig. Sorry, I'm just not vain enough to think someone will click on it.
At the bottom of the page there's a link to the article.
I like the ability of Enduring Ideal (I'll definitely throw one or two into my enchantment deck: Serra's Sanctum + Deserted Temple + Decree of Justice + a boatload of enchantments + this = a lot of soldiers), but on the whole it's high casting cost will prolly limit how much it sees play unless you've got some primo acceleration (like Serra's Sanctum + Deserted Temple, which doesn't really exist in this block).
Michiko is nice. Art is blah, but the ability could definitely come in handy (though once she gets out she's got a huge target on her back). It's always good to punish someone for coming after you. She'll definitely be a fun addition to a multiplayer game.
Enduring Ideals= interesting idea but type2 and KamigawaBlock lack the decent enchantments to make this expensive card worth while. Outside type2 though its deffinitely worth a look.
Michiko Konda, Truth Seeker= Yet another decent white legend for the Legendary WW decks, cost and size are unimpressive but the ability kicks butt(especially against WW and other weenie decks, attacking with multiple small creatures with michiko on the opponents board hurts).
The only problem I have with Michiko Konda is the same one I had with Hokori, Dust Drinker: 4 mana for a 2/2 body. I really wish it were a 2/3. 2/2 is just way too vulnerable for a 4 mana creature. Atleast she's only got one colored mana in her cost so she's more splashable.
Michiko r Good! As is Ideal. In all honesty, I just liek the art on Ideal, alot.

I'm not impressed by either of these cards. Also, the rampant keywording is getting annoying. How is a keyword necessary for a 5-card rare cycle?
Oh well. There'll be reminder text on all of them. Wizards just thinks that for us to all "get" the flavor of some mechanics they need to be keyworded. It's like they have a "keyword quota" for every block or something. It's kind of annoying, but at the same time it's pretty cool, because we sort of get to see inside their heads.
And to the naysayers: R&D is far from running out of design space. Magic as of right now spand hundreds of millions of card possabilities using only the abilities that have been printed, and yet ony a few thousand are filled in. We're in for a long ride.

While Enduring Ideals is not the hugest card in the world, it does have its uses, and I think also points to the nature of the Epic spells. Epic spells are spells you, generally, want to play as soon as possible. I could definitely see rushing to play Enduring Ideals, and then sit back behind the Shrines, Ghostly Prison, and other such cards waiting for them to kill your opponent.
Note also that Enduring Ideals sort of points to the Shrines. The ideals of each Honden was corrupted, and a return to those ideals gets you the shrines back.
Finally, I will note that while there may not be many useful enchantments in Standard, we do have all of Ravnica to find enchantments, too.
As for Michiko... yow. I just find it funny that all of the speculation on Kataki could so easily have applied to her, since her ability is a variant (but a White variant) on No Mercy.
Quick deck ideas for the white epic spell.
Hondens, mana accelleration and the channel guys as they are abilities and not spells. ergo they can still be played.
And if you want a real nutzzzzzzzzzz idea. OLS block cycling with rift/slide and the nifty epic spell.

The second card, I will deffinetly get some of. Is WOTC actually giving good cards to white again? Woohoo! I'm so getting 2-3 of these babies!
