So... your argument is that the term "first pick" has ANY RELEVANCE in sealed decK? Have you even played magic before? For that matter, is english your first language?
Never mind, I'll ignore you.
point to twintwist. that being said aren't there usually triple betrayers (or triple darksteel, etc.) drafts at prereleases?

I wasn't arguing anything actually, though yes, in a sealed deck you do have to pick something first, or else you would never make a deck. Generally though you do pick the color(s) you have the most of in sealed, I admit. If you'll take to bashing me for simply pointing out your errors, go ahead, I don't care.
Seems like she's best as a defensive creature, which is odd for red. She rarely gets her bushido bonus when attacking, cause the opponent's creatures are always tapped from attacking the turn before. On the block, however, she's a absolute monster, getting bushido for each creature attacking into her. On top of that, she gets rid of your opponent's blockers by tapping them out every turn. Running her with some Slith Firewalkers and such could be pretty fun. Drop her on the board turn 3 off a Mox and your opponent has to start swinging into her bushido hugeness every turn, losing a creature and leaving himself open to Firewalkers in the process. Not too shabby.

So, twintwist are you saying that you play with all the cards you open in a sealed tournament. I disagree that this is an auto first pick in sealed, however it would be a high possibility for inclusion in a sealed deck. At worst, it makes all your blockers into virtual removal and helps clear the way for a win. The double red reduces its splashability. I would not call it a bomb for limited, but definitely a reasonable choice in a colour that is splashed quite a lot anyway.
On the draft side of it, I am hoping that where I play we will be drafting 3 betrayers anyway as I have so many CHK cards that I am giving them away to kids because we have drafted 3 CHK for so long.
One thing I like about the card is that it forces just your opponents' creatures to attack, and your can sit pretty on defense a good bit. Like the article said, vigilant creature can work wonders with her....but an old-ish enchantment came to mind very quickly to me(this is for a casual game, mind you)...but a powerstone minefield can wreak some hefty havoc, esepcially if you get more than one into play. Forcing your opponents' critters to walk through that every turn can be pretty painful. Only problem is keeping your own critters alive at that point...(or you could substitute caltrops instead and use walls for defense)
As a more casual player, I can see all sorts of fun things to do with her....err...that sounded too wrong.......

She's not too bad,in limited, but it's always great to see a samurai with pms.
Sorry...but this nearly had me on the floor lauhging.

1. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS THE "sealed 1st pick". THERE JUST ISN'T.
2. I could play Betrayers, Homelands, Yu Gi Oh drafts if I wanted; but it's not worth talking about.
Look guys, we all go to Magicthegathering.com so everyone doesnt need to come post the preivew card! ...Hopefully someone will delete/lock these threads cause its clearly not necessary.
You just can't prevent folks from getting excited + spouting about a new card. These just belong in New Card discussion, instead of the Rumor Mill, that's all.
Fumiko-chan is awesome! Although, her text is clunky - I would have prefered her to read "Bushido X (When ~ blocks or is blocked, it gets +X/+X until end of turn. X is = to the # of attacking creatures)", it certainly wouldn't be any less distracting than what's there now.
She isn't being defensive - she's making everyone go beserk! There's nothing there about her being required to block, + forcing your opponent to attack is proactive, not reactive.

Although...can't you just imagine her hiding behind a bunch of walls, taunting everyone else with a bad french accent...then you play a rolling stones and stomp all over the other person?
Just a few ideas for walls to use there...you can still even stick with wall of stone for some old-school defense(and the battlements from which she can taunt)
I'm really surprised no one's noticed the awesome interaction with Masako the Humorless this chica has.
R/W samurai would be great, with that in the curve, in block. That way you can also use the Legendary Wall that's in there, and Kentaro helps get past the double red requirement. Throw in Nagao, and you have a winning team.
This creature is essentially evasion by default.
It also screws over Kabuto Moths.
I love it in limited, maybe in block.

We are the space robots. We are here to protect you. We are here to protect you from the terrible secret of space.
This will probably see play as a finisher in R/W samurai decks; though with the new *** (albeit 6 mana), I'm afraid control will come back in a big way; even in block.
Still, with a curive like this:
2 Hound
4 Devoted Retainer
4 battlemad guy
1 Goldentail
2 Mana fixer
4 Glacial Ray
2 Samurai tricky thing that untaps them.
3 Fox Samurai
2 Hasty Samurai?
2 Nago, bound by honor
2 This?
Then add splice and legends and land to taste. Maybe even run the brothers; if you're into combo; they'll lure the glacial rays away from this, and they work well with legendary lands, which you'll be running 1 of the W and R ones anyways.
What about the picture of the card? Dont you think it's a bit too big inside the frame? Quite an astonishing card to look at..
Yeah, she's so in your FACE that you just wanna go and... slap that angry, pouty look off her face. Which is a pretty good representation of her ability, methinks :winky: Too bad I don't play red! Although, in limited... yummy.

yes, that's a pepsi manipulator - it taps for bubbly caffeinated fun!
I like this card. People will run into a horde of Samurai. It reduces the amount of blockers available. Pretty cool card. And a Samurai Legend. I love those. Especially with Kondas Banner. But, I am from the casual crowd

Hmm..should be relly nice in Limited and possibly fun in casual samurai decks. Still getting impatient myself to see something constructed worthy. Not a bad card overall, good cost to P/T & ability ratio. Just doesn't cut it alone.
I think this will get play in CHK-Block Constructed R/W Samurai decks. She makes Call to Glory a WHOLE lot better, for one thing, and imagine her with Takeno. Attack with 5 Samurai (including herself and Takeno), she becomes an 8/7 bushido 5. Ew. I just hope the CHK-Block format will be slow enough to let this kind of deck do well (same goes for Ninja).
Betrayers brings us another cool card. I can now see myself actualy using Kentaro, the Smiling Cat with Fumiko and Godo... (for fun)
This card might also be interesting for Limited. If you have as few big creatures, it could be interesting to have your opponenents creatures attack every turn. But of course there are also a lot of times when you wouldn't want to control Fumiko... i don't know, i guess i'd try to play it (but it's rare anyway...)
I don't see the lot of time when you wouldn't want to control Fumiko. If your opponent wants to attack then he is going to attack. This card just reduces his or her options. Great against creatures with tap abilities, forcing them to use the ability during their owner's turn.
Just had a thought. This combos well with the Patron of the Kitsune. You gain 1 life for each creature that attacks. Effectively, you gain X life each turn where X is equal to the amount of creatures that your opponent controls.
