while at first Higure seems a bit abusive, an unblockable 3/4 for 4 that tutors for a ninja each turn, which can in turn be made unblockable (and thus help draw you extra cards, kill your opponents creatures, or return them to your opponents hand) isn't all that powerful...;) aw, who and i kidding, this card is SICK...at least there are splashable ways to deal with it (like rend flesh and cranial extraction)
Peace

I'm now officially going to play Ninja.dec in block constructed. Oh, and we seriously need a ninja smily now. Until then, this :blackbelt: will have to do.
I'm glad they gave the ninjas a useful and flavorful head guy. They could have downplayed the fact that ninjas are obviously going to be immediately put right near the top of "most popular tribes" along with Slivers, but its nice to see that sometimes they just give the people what they want.
I'm NOT AT ALL ABLE to build Madness, since I'm already building one for my partner in crime. Before you suggest a deck, check if it is madness. If the deck you were going to suggest IS in fact Madness, instead of posting, discard 2 cards.
I think he's amazing. Ninja's definately look as if they could be a force in block, and based on this I wouldn't be surprised if they could hold their own in T2. This guy can always be tutored for with time of need, in a GU ninja deck. I'm very impressed.
It's just too bad that this'un's slow for T2. He can come down on turn 3, attacking, but that assumes a perfect draw.
However, speed issues are why I'm taking up Kamigawa Block, and this guy has high potential there. This is damage, evasion, tutoring, and combat trickiness all in one. timmy, johnny/spike, spike, johnny. YUMMY.

Some wonder why I carry 8 decks on me. The answer? I get tired of being boarded against in casual games, and 90% of the players I meet can't beat a jank deck I made to be tokens for a serious one.
Now, this card IS a limited bomb, unlike That Which Was Taken.
Sigh, I wish people would stop arguing this point, or at least keep it in the thread for That Which Was Taken. Yes, this is very good in limited, and so are a lot of other cards, including That Which Was Taken (man I wish that had a shorter name...).
I'm punching the first person that does that "Wax on, Wax off" crap when they attack with their ninjas...
The blue precon is ninjas, so I'll just tweak that up...you know...make it 85 cards, add black, put in some removal and counters to be a jerk....Excellent...
By the way, I can't wait to use this guy in my B/U Conspiracy deck. You'd be suprised how sick that card is with the Onslaught block creature-type abilities all over the place in blue. Now i get to tutor for any creature I want All in casual of course
Pretty cool. Searching a Ninja, and making another guy unblockable so you can Ninjutsu him. Takes quite some mana I guess, but at least the deck is trying to work.

4 Mistblade Shinobi
4 Ninja of the Deep Hours
4 some Ninja
2 some other Ninja
2 Higure, the Still Wind
3 Unsummon
3 Serum Visions
12 Island
10 Plains
I like Unsummon alongside Mistblade for lots of bouncin' action. I like Serum Visions alongside Deep Hours for lots of drawin' action.
And I LOVE Higure. It draws comparisons to Lin Sivvi for a lot of folks. Now, I didn't play back then, but I do know that this card has some serious potential. By itself, it's three damage a turn, guaranteed, and since you're fetching more Ninjas, that number goes up each turn.

lin sivvi was broken, horribly broken (hence its banning from standard/block and such). higure is no where near that level of power. It's good, but sivvi was better

Maybe it's because I wasn't playing at the time Sivvi was printed, but I don't see how Sivvi can be considered better exactly. You have to pay the converted mana cost to search for the creature with Sivvi, and with Higure, you just have to pay 2... sure he costs more to put out (but only by 1 or 2 depending on weather you use his ninjutsu ability) but he's stronger and can also make other ninja unblockable as well...
Meh. Boring. The art doesn't even look too legendary.

It IS because you weren't playing.
Lin Sivvi was cheaper, put the searched creature into PLAY, had the recursion ability AND could be searched for by other rebels. This is nowhere near Sivvi's power level, and I doubt it will ever see tournament play.

It was retarded because of three points.
1.) You can kill all the small chainers, but once they get Sivvi out it's all down hill. She can recover and then search for all the chainers that you used removal on.
2.) She slowed games down so much. This was very important in the PTQ's, because more games went to time than should have. She had a nasty way of slowing games down.
3.) It made the mirror match a stupid race to see who can get Sivvi first. It made the mirror match too luck based. Whoever got Sivvi out usually won, unless the other could tutor out Rebel Informer and axe Sivvi fast enough and then get out their own Sivvi before the other could.
You attack with Higure and make him unblockable, First strike damage goes in, you search your library for a better ninja, and ninjutsu that one in to get its effect (ie kill/bounce creature, or more damage)

man, Ninjas are gonna be good. it almost makes up for its terrifyingly misinformation to what real ninjas are.

YOURS MAY BE NEXT
Yeah, im also beginning to think that I am also going to make a ninja deck. This card is really good, and hopefully the rest of them will be also.
i'm a blue player for the most part, and this card makes me a happy - HAPPY - player. i'm very much looking forward to the ninjas.

Second, Ninja decks are looking more and more viable in Block and MAYBE standard.
Third, Tel Ji-lad Stylus doesn't work. Permanent means it has to be in play.
and this is a lot of posts very quickly
