According to the site he uses CCGHQ for the high quality images, much better than the spoiler galleries, but those images are from cards are individually scanned by the community. Only the most recent sets use the Gatherer images.
seconding, it would be great if mtgimage used the spoiler images instead of the gatherer images
I will work on getting the M15 spoiler images up soon. If someone could provide me with zips for the other sets I'm using gatherer images for I will update those as well.
Going forward I will try and grab all the spoiler images for future sets too when available, before falling back to the slightly smaller gatherer images.
In my own builder I update them daily as they're released (i.e. once per day during the release period). I use the images from the Wizards's prerelease spoiler if available, if not I fall back on a Gathering Magic spoiler image if available, if not I use a generated card image.
You're welcome to grab my data. It's all in a json file and you can easily tell my source from the image url. e.g.:
This will be quite useful! Thanks! The basic lands will still be smaller gatherer sized images since they don't "spoil" those and thus don't have the slightly larger spoiler sized images, but alas, what can you do
Thanks again. I'll be working on getting the spoiler images added for the sets needed.
btw, do you just do this thing for fun? (That's why I build my generator.)
Aye, just for fun, and also to provide a resource for other developers to use. It makes me happy to know that others find it useful, and that makes it rewarding to keep doing it
Hey, how to download a set complete as .full?? Need download one per one card to have a set?
Hello
Right now you can't download all images at once, you need to either hotlink to them in your website or app or download them individually. However, zips of images are coming back soon (in a few weeks).
Some of the expansion images appear to be missing. Namely:
Magic: The Gathering—Conspiracy
Introductory Two-Player Set
Magic 2015 Core Set
Modern Event Deck 2014
Rivals Quick Start Set
Time Spiral "Timeshifted"
Vanguard
Vintage Masters
I know some of these have never had an "official" set symbol and, thus, aren't in BaconCatBug's delightful set icons. Perhaps for those sets put in a few placeholder images until one gets made?
I have added 27 new promo sets! Each set has a 4 letter set code beginning with a lowercase 'p'.
With these new promo sets, I have removed HHO and PPR. HHO is now pHHO and PPR is just gone because it's cards are spread across several of the new promo sets.
Also added set: From the Vault: Annihilation (2014) (V14)
If it helps any, I had an idea for the Introductory Two-Player Set. You could use the wizard's clasp (attached) for his cape from the box artwork as the set symbol: http://www.magiclibrarities.net/images/logos/151.jpg
I've updated MTGImage with the set icons that were missing: MD1, CNS, VMA, M15, V14, DDN
These are slightly lower quality than the others because there doesn't yet exist a high quality SVG.
Going forward whenever a new set releases on gatherer and I put the card images up on mtgimage.com I will also be putting up the set icon at the same time.
Then in the future whenever high quality SVG icons are released I'll be update MTGIMage to use the new high quality versions.
Would it be at all reasonable to supply JSON that shows which sets have which icons? I'm currently scraping the set list from mtgimage.com to get this info.

Hey, Sembiance. Just wanted to personally say thank you for this. I'm working on a project (on SlightlyMagic) and someone suggested I look into this for the images. I've been using it for awhile, and it's proven to be a fantastic resource. The fact that I can link to your site instead of trying to maintain the database myself means I can focus on other aspects of the project. This resource is definitely appreciated.

Thank you VERY much for the comment. I created the two sites (mtgjson and mtgimage) originally for fun and just to provide a useful resource for folks. It's turned out to be more work than I originally thought it would be so it feels good to read comments like yours
I'm glad you find it useful

I also have the prerelease images (using the same Wizards/GM/generated fallbacks) for tokens and promo cards:
http://copper-dog.com/mtg-generator/2015-core/cardsToken.json
http://copper-dog.com/mtg-generator/2015-core/cardsOther.json
I have this going back to Innistrad if you check my main page: http://copper-dog.com/mtg-generator

For some reason they DID spoil the basic lands with M15. They're all in cardsOther.json.

I do not have the technical expertise to make SVGs, otherwise I would.
I have also given these images to BaconCatBug: http://www.slightlymagic.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=11086&p=159154#p159154
Thanks for these!
I'm actually in the very early stages of working with skibulk (http://www.slightlymagic.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=7010#p88534) to create the missing set SVG's and for upcoming sets in the future. Still early stages.
Very cool! I look forward to seeing what you two accomplish!
I also noticed you pushed another update adding in the new Duel Decks set. So here's the expansion set symbols for it (I have also shared this with BaconCatBug):

Sure! I just added: http://mtgimage.com/SetSymbols.json
It is a JSON object, each key is the set code, and the value is an array of rarity letters that are available for that set. Enjoy!
PS - Also updated CNS and M15 to high quality versions.
Thank you very much!
Whoops! I can't believe all this time I've never offered the card back!
I just updated the site and added the card back.
The two images added are:
http://mtgimage.com/card/cardback.jpg
http://mtgimage.com/card/cardback.hq.jpg
Thanks, and Enjoy
At this time there are no zips of the image files. I've thought about adding them, but haven't done so yet.
