First, download the basic mws from magicworkstation.com and install it in a new directory. Then, without adding the updated masterbase, add the gatecrash spoiler like normal.
From here, load up the RTR and any other spoilers.
Note this is just a work around.

I'm having a problem, whenever I add the card into the deck, I don't get the picture like you usually do. I can see the standard text and card outline when I highlight it in the library, but when I highlight it in the deck I just added it to, I only get the back of the card picture(the one you get when you aren't highlighting anything). Is this a problem with my settings or something?
And when I load it in MWS I get invalid format as well....
note that when you load a new set into MWS, you have to do so from the view library mode. also, make sure you have something highlighted in the master base (top window). Then load the set, and make sure to hit the blue save button at the top. Then you have to close and re-open MWS.
Do all of these things and you shouldn't ever have a problem loading a set.
EDIT: every once in awhile you'll re-open MWS and go to the deck edit mode to see only the cards that were in your deck in the master base. Simply re-load the master base file and it should be good to go.

Thanks so much, the highlighting and restarting helped.
MWS is still crashing on me as its processing the cards and when I go to start it again it wont run and I have to reinstall. Its doing something to the sets file I think.
First and foremost, hello everyone. My first post here, though I probably won't be posting too often. I tend to lurk usually.
So, I spent 7 hours today playing around with Python, and the printable spoiler for Gatecrasher. The end result was a program that takes the spoiler, and converts it into a text file that MWS can import as a new set.
Here's a link to the text file for importing as a set, for anyone interested. (Right-click it, then choose Save Target As or Save Link As to save it)

not trying to dismiss your help, but I'm very weary of downloading from links provided by new members. If you could, please go ahead and translate to the text file yourself and upload it to the forums. so we can download it as a notepad file. Thanks for your efforts.

The link only went to a Pastebin post. I wasn't aware I could upload directly, the forums I've dealt with in the past don't allow any but moderators to upload attachments. Hence my using Pastebin. The link wasn't the program either, it was the text file after I ran it through the conversion process.
Edit: Minor irritant in the original file. I wasn't aware of a formatting trick used by MWS, so as a result, ability words were being put on separate lines from the ability itself. Battalion, for example, was put on one line, as was the hyphen, then the ability it was tied to would be put 2 lines down. I made a change to the script that elimited the unwanted whitespace. Now if an ability has unusual spacing, the script automatically corrects this. I've re-uploaded my Gatecrasher.txt file with the updated text. My linked to version in my post above has also been updated.
Glad the problem is solved then. I was going to suggest you modify the shortcut to always run with admin rights, that solves just about everything for me. In fact, when I made that change, I found I was even able to generate booster packs with Gatecrash, which several people have been having problems with.
That depends a lot on various external factors ...
For example, if someone find any errors in the database (I think not, because the database is extracted from the Gatherer) ... if any of the extras that are included in the package is updated EasyInstall ... or even if a new edition is released Magic (even if promotional).
Constantly update the package, but the MWS itself is no longer updated since 2009 ... and never will be, because the developers left the project.
Only update the package has not yet emerged as a program as good as MWS (particularly with respect to statistical analysis of decks) ... until that happens I will strongly encourage everyone to keep the MWS as the main program of games.
If you have further questions please do that right on topic EasyInstall, thanks!

Wight of Precinct Six's casting cost should be 1B and not B.
Which Windows are you using, and what directory did you install MWS to?
Windows 8 64bit and installed it in C\MWS. Didn't have any problems before trying to add gatecrash and it works fine without gatecrash
Or try MWS EasyInstall (Link below)

Yeah just noticed they updated the Master base and Easy Install. Everything is working fine now thanks
Great! Thanks a lot!
When is the next update?
