You added both the master base (in the main directory) and the sets.dat (in the data folder), right? If you're in Vista or windows 7 try running as an administrator (if that fixes it, you should reinstall somewhere other than program files).
Otherwise, try remaking the deck, make sure you're not adding the version any cards that don't have a listed rarity. If that fails, reinstall MWS.
As for the error that everyone has been having, I'm pretty sure it's caused by using the remove set function. If you're someone who adds partial spoilers, then uses remove set when they update, it will cause problems eventually. If you're going to add temporary stuff to your masterbase, you need to back up the permanent one.
I never add before full spoilers, so I know that isn't the problem. Who knows...
Nice job. Thanks for making a file that uninstalled MWS, deleting all my (numerous) decks by following the procedure. Actually make something that works next time.
Is there a way to play with an online opponent using this Set? I added it properly, and can test solo. When I go to connect to an opponent, I get an invalid deck format error. Any help?
so you can directly extract to c:\program files\Magic Workstation\
after 2 day of errors this version works 100% for me both on Win 7 and Win XP
So, I've downloaded and installed braviale's files; I can now add MBS cards to decks in deck-edit mode, but trouble arises when I try to actually play with them- I keep getting the message "Load deck error: Cards not found in Base" when I try to load a deck with the new MBS cards it for a vs game.
I've tripple-checked to make sure that my mwBase and Sets files are in the correct locations, can't fgure out how to fix this.

Well, I also got a message about a 'critical error' from mws at one point saying that it couldn't run because it couldn't find a master base and that I had to reinstall, so of course I ignored that and I went back and checked my "C:\Program Files\Magic Workstation" folder and, lo and behold, I'd deleted the old master base and forgotten to put the new one into the right location... so I did, and now now my MWS has all of the functionality that it did before attempting to patch for MBS.
P.s.- even if you DID have to uninstall MWS from your system you can still backup and/or simply move the actual files for your DECKS to a safe location, then move them back when you reinstall, not losing anything; I've done this multiple times when I've had to reformat, and it's worked every time- Besides which, you should have at least backed up your old master base and set definition files beforehand (as outlined in Memnarch's steps) so that, if worst came to worst, you could simply have deleted whatever files were causing the problem after the changes you made and replace them with the back-ups, restoring your functionality.
I got the set installed and managed to build some decks with it. Every time I try to play a Solitaire match with a deck that has MBS cards, the deck loads empty. As soon as I remove the MBS cards from my deck, the Solitaire match loads fine. Any ideas?
I downloaded and installed the patch as described in the first post. When I open MWS, I got to see all the cards and am able to use them for deck-building.
Then, if I want to play a game (either solitair or on the net), I got the following error:
"Load Deck Error: Cards not found in base"
I tried re-installing the complete program, but didnt help. It occurs only when using a Deck that uses MBS cards, but keeps occuring when I remove those cards from the deck.

Hey,
I think I had this problem as well, and I believe what fixed it was setting your current library as your default master base, in the "File" drop-down menu.
Hmmm... I haven't seen this issue addressed yet, so here goes:
downloaded and installed Braviale's updated MBase. got everything loaded up fine, images and all.
now, I downloaded a few MWS deck files to see what the current standard format is like, as I've been out for a while.
when I open these decks up, I get the error that certain cards in those decks weren't found in the MBase, specifically cards from Scars of Mirrodin and Mirrodin Besieged.
Those cards are clearly in the master base, and I can add them to the decks manually...
not really an issue, more of a minor inconvenience, I was just wondering if anyone else has encountered this and if there was a solution.

Thanks for the find. Anyone can manually change this by right clicking the entry and choosing edit.

I've made an image pack from the WOTC visual spoiler chart. Just install wolfer's patch and then put the enclosed folder inside your pics directory.

There are many guides online about how to enable the administrator account, a quick google search yields this .

I have used MWS on and off, but never really mastered it. I got the latest MWS installed and for the MBS material, but I am missing cards.
I saw the "patch", but the cards I am missing are not part of it. For example, i am missing Slagstorm.
Again, sorry if this has been addressed, didn't know how to find the answer.
thanks.
Is there any way to fix this or keep it from crashing?

Yet everytime I select the set, this is what I get.

Anyone know how to fix this?
This also happens when I open up any set, the OV set comes up on every search.
