Any word on an install? I desperately need this program, that is, unless there is another program that lets me keep a database of my own cards, my decks, and all cards ever made as well as this program did/does. I used to have it installed but lost it. If it motivates anyone, I will PAY for it.
Hey rogerbacon, thanks for keeping this going! I've haven't had much time for MTG for a little while now, so somebody else providing the updates is sweet!

No problem, now that I figured out how to get the text spoilers from Wizards working with the SED script. The last sticking point I have is that the spoilers list ALL of the editions a card has been in and I would like to remove that part. I've had to do it manually since I can't figure out a way to do it in the script or with regular expressions.

Here's the Magic2012 list. This time I didn't need to do any manual formatting. (Download Expired. Resubmitted 11-07-2011). http://www.sendspace.com/file/xx7ntw

The key to this is to make sure the exact set name is the first line of the file. The sed script keys off the first line as the set name and picks out the correct rarity from the list of editions for each card.
Hey guys! Been a while. Here are all the updates for Magic:the Database since New Phyrexia. Note that I dealt with Transform cards by letting both cards exist in the database and adding notes in each card's text. As always, the main page is here.
Oh hey, nice Roger! Well, I'm a little late, but it never hurts to have two sources for our lists. So, in addition to rogerbacon's link from the previous post (http://www.sendspace.com/file/5yymk7), you can also get an Avacyn Restored card list for MTDB from
Haven't even been playing this game a year yet and I already have enough cards that a database would come in handy... Ran across this program today and I'm already in love. Thank you so much!
Does anyone know how to write an SQL query to return cards that exist ONLY in a specific set? Magic the Database allows direct SLQ statements and I have found them quite useful so I am hoping someone can help me with this one.
A statement such as this one
Select Distinct CardTitle from Cards WHERE Edition Like 'Planechase 2012 Edition'
is good for getting all cards in an edition but I want to exclude cards that are also in other editions. I know it would be some sort of join statement but I don't know the exact format.

You choose all cards in the set you want, then exclude the cards that exist in other sets. This query is a bit inefficient (takes several seconds even on a fast system), but it does the job:
Select Distinct CardTitle from Cards WHERE Edition = 'Magic 2012' AND CardTitle NOT in (Select Distinct CardTitle from Cards WHERE NOT Edition = 'Magic 2012')
Did you have to make any manual adjustments to the SED output?
Not that I recall; I think it was all A-OK. I really ought to rewrite that script - I'm much better at sed than I used to be, so I suspect I could fix a few quirks. When I get the time...
The page where you can download the program appears to be gone now, but I was able to get the direct links to the .zip files via Archive.org's wayback machine. They still appear to work:
You can still download it from here: http://www.mtgplayers.com/magic-the-gathering/?page_id=14

I am wondering if you or someone is working on a Gatecrash spoiler list?
Thank you!

I haven't verified each card, but didn't see any problems: Did you have to make any manual adjustments to the SED output?

OK. Thanks.
Please post the revised SED script when you finish with it.
