So I was nursing a daily reward today at lunch and got about 2/3 of the way through when I had to stop playing. Tonight I fire up Arena to finish the daily and Arena wanted to update. Oh cool! Maybe this is the Mastery Tree change they were talking about earlier.
Nope... My daily shows it's only worth 500, instead of 800.
I thought I was wrong and run a quick check that confirms my suspicions. The dailies went from 800 to 500.
In addition, I have a new reward "bubble" titled "Weekly Wins" worth, you're wrong if you guessed. 250 XP.
I don't know if the three daily wins a day equaling 200 XP is still a thing. I already got my three today. I'll have to wait until tomorrow to see.
So.... old system was (800 + 200) * 7 = 7,000 XP a week The new system is probably now (500 + 200) * 7 + 250 = 5,150 XP a week if I assume the 200XP daily wins is still a thing.edit: see below
The weekly wins are 250 each up to 15 wins for a total of 3,750, the daily win xp is gone so that 250 a day is gone, they more than doubled it by adding the weekly wins but with the quest being only 3,500 instead of 5,600 the weekly total is now 7,250 instead of 7,000. It's more possible with less work. And its a huge boon to players like me who play mostly on the weekend rather than a little every day.
They've also announced the first event that will give xp. The event will be 5 weeks long, it will be similar to the War Chronicles event where you were forced to do different formats for a number of wins. Each weeks format will give 1000 xp for a total of 5000 xp.
I'm glad you posted something because it made me figure out how to navigate their site to find this information. Also, in case you missed it Redeem the codes LevelUp and BroughtBack for an additional 4,000 XP (2,000 XP each).
We now get 250XP *more* per week and we don't need to log in every day to maximize it. The daily wins (100 for the first, 50 for the second and third) went away and now you just get 15 wins in a week and all are worth 250XP. I wish they would label that as 0/15 instead of the 0/1 you see (because, honestly, 0/1 is dumb when you get to go to 15).
So, the new XP gains are 500 a day (for the Daily quests) which are 3500 a week. This assumes you login at least once every 3 days as you can only have 3 at a time.
Then, for the week, you get 250 XP per win up to 15 wins. These are weekly so you can get them all in one day for example. 15 * 250 = 3750.
So, 3750 + 3500 = 7250 which is more than we were getting before and we no longer need to log in every day to max it out.
The weekly wins are 250 each up to 15 wins for a total of 3,750,
Ah OK, that makes sense. "Weekly Win" is incredibly misleading in the bubble as it implies that that's well... it.
Where was this announced?
the daily win xp is gone so that 250 a day is gone,
It was 200 a day, not 250. 100 for win #1 and 50 each for win #2 and #3.
they more than doubled it by adding the weekly wins but with the quest being only 3,500 instead of 5,600 the weekly total is now 9,350 instead of 7,000. It's more possible with less work. And its a huge boon to players like me who play mostly on the weekend rather than a little every day.
I like this math a little better.
It would be nice if WotC actually leveraged Arena to announce these changes instead of whatever social media site they feel like using at the time.

They announced it on their main site and the Arena Forums under news/announcements. I can't figure out how to navigate their site properly but it was posted on the main site under Magic Digital

I am not sure the details of this are easily displayed in Arena though I agree it would be nice if things were actually listed there since, you know, that is where people are actually seeing the results of the changes.

Here are couple of screen shots.
