Walkers .... way too powerful. Nissa, Who Shakes the World for example is absolutely insane and almost impossible to deal with once it's out if you're not playing a control deck that has PW removal spells.
It's not that bad.
Being a 5-cmc walker, and belonging to a mono-coloured archetype, I have no problem with it having a powerful effect.
Being a 20-yr MTG player, I kinda like a big swing in the game to something different. Once the new sets come out after rotation, I'm sure there will be a large amount of answers being printed.
5-cmc that they can drop on turn 3 thanks to ramp. Green spells are undercosted because they dont take into consideration the fact that they are pumping out mana sources 2-to-1 or 3-to-1
Yep, Banefire is a thing, you can blame control for that one.

Holy ***** dude not even close. You don't draw your pieces in chess and need to rely on RNG giving you your Bishop when you need it. Your opponent cant be playing a board that directly counters your board. Chess is equal and balanced on both sides, the only exception being someone plays first. Not anywhere near a comparison to MTG.
No worries. I got thick skin and can sift through all the "well its quite easy when you spend $5000 or have access to all the good cards" ...blah blah blah.
Or then there is the ol' "come up with new strategies". What do you think the percentage of people out there independently developed Esper Control as a deck to use vs. the number that found the deck design online and just use it? or Red Deck Wins? I would say maybe .0000001% actually came up with any strategy on their own, if that.
So maybe the question should be, where do I go to find the best MTG Arena deck builds? I go to a few places, like Mtggoldfish and MTGArena.pro but they all seem to scream "Come back when you have 50-100 more rare and mythic rare wild cards!"
So they recently add this feature to the game where you can use your creatures to attack another player's planeswalkers. This new feature will allow you to interact with planeswalkers in an obvious and simple way with cards you should already be playing.
On a serious note, they did alter a number of uncommons, rares and even a few commons to specifically answer planeswalkers. There is a lot of paper in the format to answer the rocks. Planeswalkers are showing up more than ever because there are more than ever but they are far from dominating.
Trouble is they keep pushing creatures and planeswalkers, and this is great for anyone who is 30. But for anyone who played in the old days, Mtg was about stack interaction, artifacts, and enchantments. People playing creatures were the ones suffering, and that is pretty much how a lot of old timers prefer it.....

Not to mention you need a creature who can reach a walker. All the powerful walkers have a first turn defense - Teferi, Ili, Bolas, Vivians. Turn 1, and for many their +1 is defense. When the new Ili walker drops you have TWO turns to destroy it before it;s game over and shes going to either drop a 2/2 defender turn one or kill two of your creatures. Vivian takes your flier. If your opponent drops one and then the other in two turns its GG. There's no play around for a lot of them other than have a PW removal spell in hand, but PW are going to outnumber your removal spells. What do you run 4 Vraska Contempt? Maybe 4 Bedevil? 4 Vivian A, 4 Vivian B, 4 Ili. The only way the game is playable is because you get Thought Erasure on your first three turns so you can kill them in hand before they drop. I dont like cards that are "press X to win the game" and a lot of the walkers are realllllllly close to that.
could build the deck around The Immortal Sun. That combo'd with Narset, parter of veils would be interesting, since I don't think static abilities are affected by it.

THIS is what im talking about. Look at this graveyard. Yes, i got really luck and won this but still.
That graveyard has far less to do with planeswalkers and a lot to do with the shuffling algorithms.
The Arena shuffling and hand shaping algorithm(s) is garbage. I'm not going to lie and say that I never drew all four of a particular card within the first ten cards inn paper Magic. However, I have never seen the frequency of draw-all-four-of-a-card as often as I have in Arena (besides cheaters).

Agreed, but this one just happened to ba a bit of both. The guy had 4 PWs named Nicol Bolas by turn 5
I do like immortal sun, but its a 6 mc. I can only imagine the amount of damage that can be done to you by the time you get to field 6 lands
That depends on what deck you make out of it.

But let’s posit a hypothetical scenario. Would you still have issues with the Planeswalkers if the Legendary v2.0 was the current rule? I can’t find the original rule but this is how the Wiki explains it:
From Champions of Kamigawa to Magic 2014
The second version of the rule checked to see if any other legendary permanent of the same name exists on the entire battlefield (regardless of the permanents' controllers) and sent all of those permanents (including the one which initiated the situation) to their owners' graveyards.[12][13] In effect, each legendary permanent served two purposes: its original purpose and the removal of all instances of that permanent already on the battlefield.
I’m not positing we should go back to this rule. I’m just asking if a similar such rule would mollify the issue.
Well, it does seem like these named Legendaries are unique individuals, and he did only have one on the board at a time.
I think you misunderstand. That variation of the Legendary rule actually turned your copies of Legend cards into narrow removal. Imagine if there was a Planeswalker version of Clone or Clone Legion that didn’t remove the Legendary subtype like Spark Double does.

BestMagicGamer always with the best posts.
I play Duress and Price of Betrayal and that does it for me.
Ah.. Got it. Well, sorry I didn't know any of this so I probably sound pretty harsh here. "Git Gud" Apologies.
I would say that MtG is every bit as complex as Chess but I'll surely concede that's not hard to do with 20K unique game pieces.

YOu can't say "I actually never draw this card" as an excuse for it not being good.
If you never draw black lotus, it doesn't do much.
Deal with it.

Well.. three are Nicol Bolas, the Ravager and one is Nicol Bolas, Dragon-God so you’re not wrong.
