So I found a few months back, that Red Deck Wins was cakewalk-territory for Best-Of-1 to advance up the ranks.
But it seems Frenzy has copped some sort of nerf, cos it's utterly unplayable for me now.
So I'm wondering what decks you guys are using to level up.
The biggest problem I'm finding is simply, Esper is everywhere.
I'm playing both B01 & Traditional, a variety of decks, but Esper has good game against everything I like to play.
So, besides playing Esper, what are the best in either B01 or traditional?
I don't play much ranked myself, so this is not based on a ton of experience, but generally RDW, Esper Control and White Weenies are listed as the most consistent, best-performing decks in the current Bo1 Meta.
So, if RDW doesn't work that well for you and you specifically excluded Esper, you have one of those left to try.
White Weenies has a pretty set core, but with a variety of viable 1- and 2-drops it has a bit more room for individual choices than other high tier decks. If you mostly face Esper, you might want to consider the 'Azorius' variant, which mostly means a blue splash for little Teferi and Dovin's Veto (both are usually rather sidebord cards for bo3 than great bo1 options though). Gideon is hard to deal with for them too.
Against esper your only option is to race, RDW is one of the best ways to accomplish that. Get them down to where even if they do have a teferi you can untap, play fanatical firebrand and sac it, then finish them with a skewer the critics or two. They don't run a ton of counterspells, probably only 5-7 depending on the build, so burn spells to the dome are the order of the day.
Experimental frenzy, as you've noted, can be clunky and it's why a lot of high level lists are cutting it in favor of Chandra, Fire Artisan or Risk Factor as their top end. Your goal is to push as much damage in as you can until they manage to stabilize, then bank up enough spells to just finish the job in a second volley. A turn of Ghitu lavamancer, wizard's lightning, skewer, shock when they're nearly tapped out can be what you need to punch through.

Thanks everyone.
Yeah I found ranking up with RDW before War Of The Spark to be easy-ish, even tho RDW seems to always be matched up against life-gain decks for me. But now I'm finding the deck just mana-floods.
I do have an Esper deck, just wondering what the other options are....
