I really doubt this will come to fruitation but it’s something that came to my head but could be element of truth to this though
I know Jace a vraska is planning on resetting the mutiverse somehow with loot being involved( which they clearly need to get back from winter and Valgavoth somehow)
but I also noticed another trend seems like quite a few of the stories showed cliff hangers/foreshadows of villains from the story’s might be coming back down the line besides Valgavoth, (mycrotryant is one example) (maybe even bolas since we’re all confused how ugin is in the tarkir set so far does he escape here?)
I feel like nearly all will pop out in this upcoming set
where I’m going with this is, what if Jace and vrakas plane invovles luring as many villains as possible to one area to trap them or take them down and with loot the Fomori will be involved with this, (just like bolas did on ravnica with planeswalkers, and the fomori/coin empire are playing the role of eternals from that)
We will have to see how things turn out with Jace and Vraska and the Fomori stuff since in theory this story arc will be fully wrapped up in six sets, but I see a lot of these other villains being made that could someday be big bads. The eldrazi, Bolas* and Phyrexia have been dealt with for the moment and really the only know villain who had any big bad power and set up was Tezzeret so I think Rowan, the mycrotryant, Valgavoth, Oko's gang ect are all being floated around as possible threats after this arc depending on creative is wanting to do after this arc and likely how people react to the new villains.

The Bolas arc hinted at Bolas being the big bad at the end, since Kaladesh, with Tezzeret retrieving the aether bridge for him. That was 9 sets before War of the Spark. Amonkhet revealed the eternals. Ixalan the Immortal Sun. Dominaria saw Liliana falling into Bolas' clutches and then came two Ravnica sets hinting at Bolas' involvement in the plane by installing his own minions in 5 of the guilds.
Then, the first time we saw the story hinting towards the phyrexian arc was Kaldheim, where we saw Vorinclex, which was 8 sets before March of the Machine. We had Wrenn introduced in Innistrad (who would play a pivotal role at the conclusion of the arc). We saw Jin-Gitaxias in Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty, Urabrask in Streets of Capenna and Sheoldred in Dominaria United. Brother's War was a bit of a detour (again) but still tied to the phyrexians. All Will Be One was the phyrexians appearing in full force right before the March of the Machine. Only Strixhaven didn't really add anything to the arc.
The Metronome arc is 12 sets, so I assume the big bad to appear a couple sets in. So far the only returning character is Jace (and Vraska, Loot), 8 sets before Ziplining, which matches the MoM arc. And there's Winter/Valgavoth appearing in two sets, but they're a bit late, being introduced only 6 sets before the big finale. Seems odd to introduce them only in the second half of the whole arc.
The Fomori aren't developed enough and we know Jace/Vraska appear again in Aetherdrift (not to mention Loot is involved as well) so it seems more and more likely Jace is involved in the big finale and not the Fomori.
Edge of Eternities also seems to fit the Jace-Vraska-Loot arc as their ambition is somehow related to the overall structure of the multiverse and the EoE seems to have very special properties, which seems thematically connected to what Jace and Vraska are trying to achieve.
Addition: If the Fomori appear at the conclusion of the arc, I assume they will show up as an antagonistic force, like the eternals did during War of the Spark, but Jace still remaining the Big Bad (though probably redeeming himself at the last minute). It's just a bit weird to not set them up properly and then use them as the main villain. Then again it might underline their "alien invader" theme, mmh. Maybe the Fomori will be set up just enough to establish them as a possible big baddie and the final set will be about stopping Jace from releasing them, thus saving the Fomori for later.
At any rate, I expect Valgavoth to be shelved for the future. He seems like a good future "multiverse threatening" villain.
@Flisch (kinda talking about a bunch of your point together/stuff in general so didn't wanna edit quotes around)
1-From a few sources we learned the phyrexia arc was gonna start with Eldraine 1. Originally they where gonna launch right into the phyrexia arc; King Kenrith would still be kidnapped only this time by "the whispering witch" which the twist would be it was Sheoldred. Sheoldred would have have killed or compleated Will and this would causes Rowan to become a villian due to the rage of losing Will. Also seemly Will half of his and Rowans spark would have somehow moved into the band of knights the twins would be with, so Rowan would have the band come with her as she planeswalked and be her minions. Kasmina was also involved playing a merlin role and they where originally working under the two-set block structure. This all got changed since they decided to move the more overt phyrexia stuff to later on and the second set got cut so they moved stuff around (and added in Garruk being cured since that was orignally gonna be in Dominaria).
2- I do think we got some phyrexia arc set up with Elspeth escaping from the underworld and imo (nothing confirmed) I think Lukka was made to be a red shirt (or a copper coat) to add another number to the compleated planeswalkers since out of the 8 he was the least established character with the rest being fan favorites and/or major characters. Strixhaven imo (again nothing confirmed) I think was the left over stuff they had in Eldraine they moved over which is a reason it has very little to do with the overall bigger phyrexia story and tossed in Liliana's growth from her griving and Lukka just to have him shown a bit more before compleating/killing him.
3- Ya its a bit odd we haven't seen more of the Fomori, though that might be what the last 4 set will be/ the 3rd part of this 3 part arc is about, similar to how Dominaria United - MoM was actucal start of the phyrexia invasion proper with the other sets being set up. The fact the Fomori are alien coded it would make sense they would show up in Edge of Eternities and the term Fomori comes from Irish mythology which overlaps with Celtic mythology so also makes sense we are getting Lorwyn 2 right after and might serve as the introduction and/or origin of the Fomori. Could also be the arc ends with Jace and Vraska's plan not working but letting a small part of the Formori return to be the villains for the next arc as they try to rebuild their empire with Jace and Vraska heel-face turning to have to help stop them.
