At the end of "Wool over the eyes", the last rivals of ixalan story, emporor Apatzec says "Ixalan is ours... and Torrezon is next." this is a big cliffhanger, Does this mean there will be another ixalan-focused block?
Dominaria s case the next set after core 2018 we could still be on dominaria
So basicly stay for as long as they want but not a forever thing ofcoarse advantage is like if slivers are in dominaria revist if we stay it's a way to get more slivers
Why would anyone want to go back to Ixalan? the only cool thing that could happen on a return would be Useless Island becoming a huge city under the rule of Azor.

And more dinosaurs but it doesn't matter since that creature type is decidious so no need to return to ixalan for more dinosaur cards
I'd enjoy a return to Ixalan eventually. The factions were interesting, and I'd like to see more of the world. And it would give them a chance to maybe write some better stories the next time around.
ixalans one of my favorite blocks story wise in a while. i'd like to return eventually for more explore cards and treasure tokens.
set really felt like it pulled from or was inspired by the old 18th century literature of north america's interior theorizing it to still be inhabited by wooly mammoths and other ancient creatures.

Maybe it's because some of us are actually interested in the plot hooks left hanging on the plane (namely the Ixalani's attempted invasion of Torrezon, and the potential Legion civil war).
Also, I don't know what you mean by "cool", but Azor has no reason to build a city on Useless Island when he'd be the only sapient resident.

Sure, there are a few plot hooks left, guess which other planes also have plot hooks, Amonkhet, New Phyrexia, Innistrad, and many more the only difference between these planes and Ixalan is that they are actually interesting.
And you're right Azor can't interact with anyone, but do you really thing he is going to sit around Useless Island doing nothing?.
Anyone that know anything about laws knows very well they are filled with holes that can be exploited, and Azor is the guy who literally created the entire legal systems of many worlds.
But what actually pissed me off about this thread (which led to my comments) is the fact that we just got out of Ixalan, if you want to talk about this, wait a few years will ya'

Innistrad and Amonkhet can be left alone for a while because their hooks can be delayed for a variable period of time. New Phyrexia is long overdue, but we'd have to be ready for another artifact-centric set or two.
Ixalan's hooks are more immediate because Elenda is returning to Torrezon as we speak, and Apatzec is continuing his expansion as we speak.
Just because you don't find the plane interesting doesn't mean no-one else does, and I don't see how talking about a potential return should piss you off, especially since no-one in this thread said we should return post-haste.
I may be a bit late to this conversation but I just wanted to add that if we were to return to Ixalan we may get to see the native demons of the plane which I'd love to fully so and not just tid-bits of.

Oh and if it's the dinosaurs you want don't worry they are confirmed decidious
