So. I've been doing a ton of thinking these past few days and I've come to a conclusion... I'm not 100% certain about it, but I personally believe Gideon Jura is going to die on Amonkhet or in Hour of Devastation.
Now, I don't want this to happen, but hear me out.
So technically, Gideon is highly respectful of the plane after he has found out about the Gods of Amonkhet being much different than the gods on Theros. Gideon is a large highlight in the storyline so far, with him joining the Trials and such. (I'm assuming because his planeswalker card is literally named "Gideon of the Trials.)
Taking a closer look at the Gatewatch (This new Gideon in specific), ever since they've been introduced, they've been the luckiest band of fu**ers ever to walk the Blind Eternities. Now, they're coming up to fight Nicol Bolas, the baddest-a*s ever to done anything ever. The Gatewatch cannot win this fight. Think of the foreshadowing the developers inserted when they said "The Gatewatch rushed to Amonkhet with absolutely no preperation and no plan. Ajani said that he was going to recruit an ARMY of Walkers to try to attempt to fight Bolas. The Gatewatch's luck streak ends now.
Now, returning to Gideon. Gideon, after arriving in Naktamun and meeting Oketra, thinks that Naktamun/Amonkhet is a place of butterflies and rainbows, behind a thin layer of sand. He really gets the awakening in the second storyline spotlight:
Now that Gideon's had a rude awakening, he decides to join the Trials to avenge his fallen "Crop-Mate". Take a look at Gideon of the Trials:
Minding his first two abilities which are prety much basic Gideon-like stuff, his last ability is the spotlight.
"0: You get an emblem with “As long as you control a Gideon planeswalker, you can’t lose the game and your opponents can’t win the game."
In other words, unless Gideon dies, the Gatewatch will win. and looking at the background images of the storyline on magic.wizards.com, The last image looks like a zombified Gideon.
Is Beefslab going to finally meet his match on Amonkhet? Vote and Comment or Nicol Bolas will eat your soul.

Moved to Storyline Speculation
Not for the rumor mill, but for storyline. Anyway.
Beefslab will not die here. WOTC's barely begun on their "Let's push the Gatewatch as a story device!" plan. They're a barely functional team - look at the AER storyline. WOTC has a plan for them, and while one or two of them will assuredly die because that's how WOTC rolls, it won't be yet. What's more likely is that one of these scenarios:
1) The Gatewatch manages to turn the inhabitants of the plane against Bolas, and he leaves what has become a bad investment.
2) Bolas smacks the Gatewatch down and they run away.
In either case, combat will end before fatalities, and Bolas's next move will be to subvert or destroy Ravnica, whichever he feels is more appropriate.

From the Marketing they have been doing with Gideon and the other Origins 5 member they won't kill them off for awhile. I think Bolas will beat the Gatewatch but they escape alive. If anything I think the other 4 will be more hurt thne Gideon since it will mimic his Origin story (replace Erabos with Bolas and his friends with the Gatewatch).

"You can tell how dumb someone is by how they use Mary Sue"
It makes sense. Gideon's strongest power has always been protecting himself. In every incarnation he's had some combination of Indestructible and damage prevention. The only reliable way to kill creatures like that is exile or -1/-1 effects. Thinking back, the only thing that's come close to harming Gideon before was when Ob Nixilis tried to drown him on Zendikar, an act often represented by giving things -x/-x. As the land of -1/-1 counters, Amonkhet is the last place Gideon should be hanging out. I don't think it's a coincidence we've got one of his strongest incarnations yet on the one plane where he's the most vulnerable.
I've often thought amonkhet would be the first loss for the gatewatch. And I long figured someone would die, I figured on ajani coming in and sacrificing himself to save the gatewatch. The team would run away to lick it's sounds and create some drama amongst themselves. (Also im guessing lili might switch teams to deal with her demon)
But with gids new card I could see him get the axe so to speak and ajani come in to save the day. Ajani would kinda become the defunct leader.
I have proposed such a theory at the very moment we learned Ajani is joining the Gatewatch. So far, what we know from Amonkhet story and cards (basically what you listed) support such theory.
He needn't necessary die. But he is not gonna leave Amonkhet.

Origins, which marks the beginning of the new way to tell stories, which are now more character-focused than plane-focused.
They've also just recently said they're listening to popular demand and not shoehorning the Gatewatch into every block starting very soon. Plus, I could easily see Ajani replacing Gideon as our white power ranger with an "I told you so. Now are you ready to try things my way?" Either that, or they build up to Gideon's death but Ajani shows up at the last minute, takes a fatal blow to save Gideon and/or the rest and they flee to lick their wounds.
One way or another, somebody's probably going to die on Amonkhet.

Short Answer: No. Longer Answer: No because Nicol Bolas can gain control of Gideon. Doing so makes the Gatewatch lose as they lose their strongest pillar and their chances are shattered and scattered.
If they rescue Gideon, they have to rescue Elspeth. Period. Plus the only way that the new walkers have ever dealt with indestructibles are Godsend, Imprison in the Moon, and Bonds of Mortality. This last one is huge, because due to the shaky nature of Nissa at the start of Amonkhet and her struggle to do anything magical makes me think that her teaming up with Chandra to bring Gideon down is far too unlikely.
Nope. They aren't going to spend block after block just trying to set up the Gatewatch, spending an entire Core set effectively detailing the origins of each of the main five, and then kill one of them only a few blocks in. Gideon may die at some point in the future, I'm not saying he absolutely won't. But it isn't going to be this block, it just makes no sense. Bolas is going to be the first legitimate challenge and probably loss, but that doesn't have to be because Gideon dies.
Anointed Procession's flavor text fuels even more the "Gids is getting a reality check" aspect of the story.
Also, yeah, he'll get some Bolas "love" for sure...
I have felt it was being foreshadowed for ages, but I'm starting to lean more towards a Mindcontrolled/"Worthy" dead-and-raised Gideon instead becoming Bolas's champion and shattering the Gatewatch. We get a new antagonist with potential for redemption later, so Gideon stays in-story, but the Gatewatch takes a massive loss and Bolas scores a massive win which everyone on MTGS at least desperately wants.

Ajani getting an oath makes room for a new White 'walker. Also, if the Atlazan/Conquest of Power leaked packaging has any credibility, Ajani features again there- a more central role, perhaps?
Whether Gideon dies or is taken by Bolas as a slave, I hope that if the Gatewatch is at least the immediate future of the mtg storyline, they aren't made totally immortal.
The gates open to allow the worthy dead passage. However, Razakath acts as a guardian, a last trial of sorts, to the afterlife. In order for Liliana to kill Razakath, they need the gates to open.

Thats on cards not in the storyline. The main 5 storyline-wise will remain the main characters of magic.
