1- Since Ajani went to Dominaria, will the next set take place there with Ajani getting hung up there?
2- How does Ajani know where Dominaria is?
3- Who the heck is he trying to get to help?
1. No, I think the art book states that they're all to meet up on Dominaria after gaining allies. I think the rest of the gatewatch isn't going to listen and go straight to Amonkhet, instead.
2. Ajani was there way back during Scars of Mirrodin block, he brought Elspeth her armor while she was a pit fighter.
3. We don't know. He knows a lot of people though, he's traveled all over. We'll have to wait and see, may be new faces, may be old. I'm hoping Dack!
1- Since Ajani went to Dominaria, will the next set take place there with Ajani getting hung up there?
Could be? If it is true that the Gatewatch will suffer its first significant defeat in Amonkhet, they could agree with Ajani's reasoning and go there.
But it could also be just a short/uneventful stay in Dominaria, just like the couple of months they stayed in in Ravnica between EMN and KLD.
2- How does Ajani know where Dominaria is?
Why wouldn't he? He's a planeswalker.
3- Who the heck is he trying to get to help?
Ajani is part of Tamiyo's circle of planeswalkers who share stories of the planes they visit. It is confirmed he knows Narset, and whoever else is on said group.
As Dominara is described it's the center of the multiverse if I'm remembering that right it can't be too hard to get there. besides bolas has some juicy history on dominara it shouldn't be too hard to find someone there he has ticked off. maybe ajani will find karn looking around dominara for a cure or a way to fight phyrexia. karn probably doesn't have a very good opinion of nicol bolas after he sent ol tezz tezz to screw around on "mirrodin". there really is an infinity of possibilities of who they will ask to help with bolas. heck maybe we will see some random premending planeswalker come out of nowhere and team with the gatewatch because why not?

I just remembered other planeswalker Ajani knows - Sarkhan! Can someone who had read the Alara novel confirm if Ajani ever discovered Sarkhan allied with Bolas?
Regardless, both are friendly to Narset, so Ajani may contact Sarkhan for information on Bolas.

1) Well the planes after Kaladesh are Amonkhet and then Atlazan.
2) Dominaria, is pretty historical. Empires rose and fell, lots of apocalyptic-scale events, famous planeswalkers that ascended there, the Tolaria academy, along with a whole lot more.
3) At this point? I don't know what planeswalker would visit that rock aside from Tamiyo seeing as how Dominaria is kind of a post-apocalyptic wasteland.

Oh missed Atlazan. What is it?
Not a lot of info yet, but it appears to be A Mesoamerica themed block that had Ajani on one of the boosters.

But that's just a theory ain't it? There's no proof that altazan is even a plane. I also believe the only mention of atlazan is on the concept art of the boosters that aren't necessarily the final product. there is so little on the topic that it isn't set in stone from what i know about what comes after amonkhet. heck atlazan could be a conclave on dominara or some continent that rose from the ashes of the apocalypse and have recovered.

The boosters came in the same image as the Amonkhet and Hour of Devastation one. So its likely a real plane we will be visiting. Now if its on Dominiria or anywhere else is anyones guess as we haven't visited that rock known as Dominiria for quite some time.
I doubt it's part of Dominaria, they aren't going to want to add yet another thing to Dominaria. I also think Atzlan, or at least something very similar to it like Mongseng to Tarkir, will show up at some point soon, I don't think they'd toy with people interested in that kind of plane.
Yes he's a planeswalker but they don't just know things. They have to know of the plane and how to get there.
Planeswalkers can also planeswalker 'randomly' and explore the plane they end up in. That's how their first planeswalk goes, for example, but it's not restricted to that first time; otherwise all they could do is to go to back and forth between those two planes (native and first visited) until they happen to encounter another planeswalker.
Ajani has been walking the planes for many years; he's older than most of the Gatewatch except Liliana. He likely just landed on Dominaria one day while exploring. Most planeswalkers 'learn' the way to most planes this way. No need of a special explanation for any of them knowing any random plane.
Yes it's "the center" but remember for the longest time it was shrouded and no one knew where it was.
'Shrouded'? You mean the Shard of the Twelve Worlds? It was created when Urza became a planeswalker and broken when Freyalise cast the World Spell to end the Ice Age, some 1,500 years before the Mending. All neowalkers, and many oldwalkers (Liliana, most likely, seeing how she visited planes outside the Twelve) didn't even exist at the time. So that part isn't relevant.
I'm sure it will be hard to find someone as Dominaria became a wasteland.
Dominaria is just the plane to gather. Whoever Ajani wants doesn't need to be there.
Isn't Karn still on New Phyrexia?
No. He gave up trying to save that plane, and is fighting Phyrexian presence in other planes likely infected by his oil (we know they exist in Elspeth's native plane, for example). Koth is the only one still fighting there.
When the Gatewatch decide to fight Phyrexia eventually, Karn, Koth, and a resurrected Elspeth would be great additions.
Please don't mention Teferi.
Not a planeswalker anymore, presumed dead by old age.
There are so many loose ends in the mtg universe that the story can go anywhere. I mean just take a minute to look back on last few blocks. gatewatch defeats eldrazi and now they're on kaladesh screwing up tezz tezz because reasons. I figured the next step would be go deal with new phyrexia but now I'm having amonkhet shoved down my throat along with whatever atlazan. heck maybe atlazan is one of them planes that have phyrexian oil on it because of karn. I don't feel like adding more planes just because the community wants some aztecish plane is good for the story. heck we don't even know what happened to sorin or anyone on innistrad yet but now we're going to beat up an ancient dragon in egypt because, why not? ugh i would like it if wizards slowed down a notch and just uncoiled their messy knot of lore so i can sleep soundly for once instead of asking myself "wait why hasn't jace just sat down and think more about curing garruk!?" i say that because it was mentioned around the time jace and Gideon met with lilly. Sorry for the rant I hope wizards steps up their game lorewise.

Honestly, there are fewer loose ends now than there were before the new story structure.
Of the Gatewatch, the only one who knows about New Phyrexia is Ajani, and he doesn't really have much reason to care about it right now. They fought Tezzeret because Jace and Lili knew he was a bad guy working for Bolas, and they had beef with him. The others got involved because he was imposing his will on the Consulate, dealing with super dangerous technology, and Jace and Lili told them they needed help. Sorin is currently trapped in a stone prison by Nahiri that is grinding his guts quickly enough that he has no ability to focus on Planeswalking off of Innistrad. He only has time to regenerate. Innistrad itself is going to go through some structural changes, political upheaval, but Emrakul is sealed, most of the big Eldrazi threats are dead, and people will adapt to the changes. Jace hasn't sat down and thought about curing Garruk, because he stopped Garruk from turning into a demon via the hedron, and Garruk told him "Don't mess with me, and I won't make an effort to kill you." Jace has already lost to distracted Garruk before, I don't think he wants to try dealing with a Garruk that's focused on attacking him. Not alone at least. Jace feels bad about it, but before the Gatewatch, there was little he could do.
Recent blocks have closed themselves off fairly nicely, while leaving a few threads for a possible return. We don't know what the fused world of Lorwyn and Shadowmoor is like. We don't know how the battles of Alara are progressing. We just recently got a finish to the Zendikar plotline. New Phyrexia is big, but hasn't done anything. And those three all involved Nicol Bolas in some fashion, so his storyline is probably a bit more in need of refresher than New Phyrexia. But then RTR had a problem and resolved it in one block. Jace is the Guildpact, which has weird implications and consequences, but we've only had one to two stories in the meanwhile discuss any happenings on Ravnica. Theros' story was self-contained, barring the "Elspeth could Return" plot. Khans has the whole "World is now crap, but some remember the old way" tidbit, but things are set and basically finished. They've been trying pretty hard to tie off those loose ends.
Can someone who had read the Alara novel confirm if Ajani ever discovered Sarkhan allied with Bolas?
Well, Sarkhan fought Mayael's forces at the Maelstrom, and Ajani was there for that battle. But Ajani and Sarkhan didn't exactly get a chance to talk; even if Ajani realized Sarkhan was there at the behest of Bolas, he is well aware that not everyone who works for Bolas knows they work for Bolas. So Ajani likely knows there's a connection between Sarkhan and Bolas, but just as likely doesn't know what exactly that connection is.
for the longest time it was shrouded and no one knew where it was.
No, people knew where Dominaria was, they just couldn't planeswalk to or from there (and the dozen or so neighboring planes, but nobody cares about them).
And anyway, that was a one-time thing, well before Ajani's time. What relevance does it have here?
I don't feel like adding more planes just because the community wants some aztecish plane is good for the story.
Perhaps, but story takes a back seat to popular themes, which in turn take a back seat to game mechanics. MtG is a game first and foremost, so the non-game aspects often must yield to the game aspects.
Even if Ajani can't find Sarkhan again, Narset is part of the story-circle. She seems like she would help if Tamiyo called for it. And she could maybe pull Sarkhan.

There is a lot more to Theros: Ashiok is causing trouble, Dack is there with some special gauntlet and Ajani was undermining the faith in the Gods. It is basically all set up for a return, and now the Gatewatch can get involved through Ajani (although the setup is fine as is, without forcing in more protagonists). I expect a return very soon.
welp. Anyway with the new post of Renewal we know for sure that everyone but Ajani was like "screw it we're going to amonkhet!" We also learned that ugin is for certain an elder dragon. That was confirmed by an off handed comment made by Gideon. I was thinking of making a Thread just to make sure everybody caught that detail while reading it but I refrained.

To me it seems we are at the "Assemble" stage of an Ensemble Drama, with the main plotline of the main antagonists and protagonists being the accumulation of Planeswalker Allies and Planar Bases, kind of like a Nuclear Arms Race. There will of course be other subplots occurring with some Planeswalkers Friendly, neutral, and Unfriendly pursuing their own goals but this will be the crux of this next Phase.
Phase 1: Founding and Premise
Phase 2: Ensemble Arms Race with minor/Proxy conflicts
Phase 3: Nuclear Winter/The Big Confrontation
Phase 4: Aftermath/ New Era of conflict
I could be wrong, probably am but this is the pattern I would do at the Meta-level. Predictable? yes, but not necessarily a bad thing as no trope is inherently good or bad, its just the writing that makes it so.
I think Ajani is going to go to this MesoAmerica Plane, fight against Vraska who is either now a Servant of Bolas or soon will be and we'll find a new Planeswalker Ally.

It is basically all set up for a return, and now the Gatewatch can get involved through Ajani (although the setup is fine as is, without forcing in more protagonists). I expect a return very soon.
Also don't forget that the 3rd of lilianas demon lords is on Amonkhet, which has been loose story end. Creative has said one of thier new goals with the Gatewatch is to tie up loosen ends.

The Vorthos community will await the consequences of the Eldrazi Titans' deaths/sealing. We will keep the watch.
