Interesting, it will be Tezz vs. Sarkhan vying for Bolas's affection. Let's see who else can Bolas enslave?
Her second ability is the obscure one. The best I can think is that she drains knowledge from those asleep around her. Tapping usually means asleep or weakened in magic terms, sleep is also done at night when the moon is out so theres that link too.
It's probably more like she feels safer to study sleeping animals than a waking one. Nice idea though.
... Now I'm imagining the wrong thing about Tami-chan and shippings
I'm still actually a supporter that all those scrolls she's writing in are in fact full of horrible slash and fanfic about the people she met.
As for Elspeth, she's replaced her search for an ideal world with a spirit of punishment. She's probably honestly going to burn out, but Karn might be able to teach her to feel again. He has a thing for damaged young women.
... and now I'm just imaging karn as the sleazy guy in bars looking for girls with daddy issues. I did not mean to bring up that image.
Very unlikely.
Liliana cares a little too much about herself and Tezzeret feels the same way about himself. Aside from that, Tezzeret does have that little HUGE grudge against Liliana for her part in Jace's coup.
Test of Metal says he made peace with that but.... Test of Metal is kind of garbage when it comes to what did or did not happen.
As far as I recall they've had Lilly/Jace, but that's not going too well. Then Baltrice sorta showed a lot of loyalty/appreciation/affection toward Jace in Test, and then there's all the Gideon/Chandra UST.
Bolas and Sarkan clearly have a BDSM thing going on, just leave 'em be.
I don't think Wizards will be pushing any couples though, because as someone mentioned earlier, whenever they've had a couple in the past it's never ended well. I honestly can't recall one that did. These are the ones that lasted more than one book/set.
Rayne/Barrin lasted a while, then
Rayne got killed by Greel and Barrin nuked himself and a tonne of phyrexians.
Toshi/Kiku
was more of a one night stand, and Kiku wasn't keen on a repeat.
Gerrard/Hanna
ended with Hanna's death.
Fonn/Jarad actually married and had a kid.
Then got divorced, and Jarad got killed, then revived himself. But Fonn wasn't keen on their son hanging out with the undead.
Maralen/Rhys had some leading dialogue & scenes,
none of which goes anywhere.
And even in the Avacyn letters storyline, Mr Cathar/Reika
ended when Reika got skewered by the evil church fellow
That does make me wonder though... how about planeswalker/nonwalker coupling? Admittedly, I don't remember any sort, even if current planeswalkers aren't immortal and shouldn't have any age problems with mere mortals. 'Sides, they have yet to put some restriction of planeswalkers not being able to take another person planeswalking, right?

Basically MtG doesn't promote romance.
From your excellent examples it would seem Wizards hates "happy endings".
well yeah, people on Zendikar fought together to save their plane and ended up getting eating by like a million eldrazi
That just reiterates my point. While I do firmly believe life is filled with strife (hey, I rhymed:rolleyes:) and tragedies but there are just as many good things that sometimes come out of bad things and while I don't believe in fairy tale endings but they (wizards) needs to realize that and start showing it. They have a perfect chance to do this with Gideon hopefully (and successfully) rescuing a portion of Zendiikar denizens. Likewise with Koth. Perhaps a mutual partnership between the planeswalkers?

Just a quick overview of the endings in Magic since Kamigawa block (since Mirrodin is too retconny for my taste and the blocks before that didn't really have an ending and were an ongoing story.):
Kamigawa - Peace returned to the plane, definately a good ending
Ravnica - The tyranny of the guilds was ended and the citizens of Ravnica were free again. I chalk that up as a good ending.
Time Spiral - Starting out as the darkest block so far it turned rather hopeful towards the end, showing how Dominaria is regenerating. While I wouldn't call the block lighthearted, it definately had a good ending.
Lorwyn - Oona's tyranny was ended and Lorwyn was brought back to its natural state, realigning everyone with their true nature. Depending on your view, this is probably a good ending for most inhabitants of Lorwyn.
Alara - Due to the complexity of the setting it's hard to say if the ending was good or bad. Some shards seemed to suffer, while others seemed to gain from the Conflux. (The Vithians for instance.) And even then one could argue that bringing back the world to its natural state opens up more possibilities for everyone. I guess this is a rather neutral ending.
Zendikar - Yeah, bad ending. Nuff said.
Mirrodin/New Phyrexia - Even worse ending than Zendikar. Interestingly only a handful of people even see it as a bad ending because most hated the Mirrans anyway.
Innistrad - Similar to Time Spiral, this block turned out better than it started off. This is probably one of the best endings, as apart from the monsters, everyone benefitted from Avacyn's return.
So, out of eight different blocks, 2 had a bad ending and 1 had an ambigious ending, which still leaves 5 blocks with a pretty good ending.
I don't really see why people keep saying MtG is too dark.

An entire plane in the process of being devoured and a global genocide is not that dark?

Doesn't tezzeret and bolas count? it's not "mutual" per se but it's a partnership (sort of)

An entire plane being eaten and a global genocide is not that dark?
Hold on there. Zendikar wasn't completely eaten by the Eldrazi yet. Its people are actually enduring pretty well considering what is let loose on their plane.

So what I hear people saying in general is that Tamiyo is basically a pacifist?
No, what I mean is that if Tami offers you sake, don't drink it.
So she's a mind deviant?
As for Elspeth, she's replaced her search for an ideal world with a spirit of punishment. She's probably honestly going to burn out, but Karn might be able to teach her to feel again. He has a thing for damaged young women.

I'm just gonna sig this here statement.
Also, (and this is just a tad off topic) does anyone feel like Elspeth's growing instability might have some alignment based backlash?
As prompted by certain threads on the forums, I'm now certain that the planeswalkers in DGM will be.... Ral Zarek, Morsel of the Firemind.
as somebody said above, she's pretty selfish and plus Tezzeret's Bolas' slave, so I don't see him getting out of that relationship anytime soon

She has probably written an Avacyn x Gisela one.... BELIEVE IT.
As far as I remember, nope.

Oh I bet they will if data shows them that people would like it.... um, yeah, bleak endings for everyone.

I don't think Bolas partners with anyone; I just think he makes them his slaves in some manner.
I wonder what walker(s) Bolas would make as his concubine(s).
My bet is that Jace, Chandra, and Gideon would be his prized concubines.
