Also, this looks to be the goddess Serra, not the once-planeswalker who held her name.
Ethan Fleischer and Kelly Digges during Dominaria (2018) confirmed that there isn't a goddess whom Serra was named after it was always just Serra the planeswalker.

Vraska seems to have died, but they haven't found the body...
And more important, seemly no card art of her death.

Her and Jace are probably gonna be the only surviving phyrexian walkers so far
It’s a tough call if wrenn is gonna die or not in th story (I hope not she’s definitely the more interesting walkers)
but let’s just say we are likely getting a “invasion of new phyrexia” card because the end of chapter 8 is wrenn is about to… RETURN ZHALFIR ONTOP OF NEW PHYREXIA!!!
WELCOME HOME ZHALFIR!!!
It’s definitely looking like we nailed it with non walkers being able to go to outside planes again
“Eight” (the non compleation part of the realmbreaker) told wrenn it wants to connect to planes just like the the world tree
Well, I must admit that after the lackluster beginning, the last two days meant a rocket-fast steep increase in quality.
Still amazed about what they did with Wrenn. From what is happening now, I can imagine her become something like a soul of the Multiverse Tree.
The fact that they are in fact repeating the Rathi overlay method (two planes occupying the same "planar coordinates"), just in opposite way and by different means, is also a nice nod to the first Invasion.

The Ravnica chapter is definitely amazing... the minds of two Vraska seeing that some compleation is not as COMPLETE as it seems.
Also Ajani and Nahiri since we still haven't heard anything about their fates, but both will be fine I believe... I think Nahiri and Ajani will quickly come back after sensing the danger or something is slowing down their invasion.
I am hearing that there's a Theory of sorts that Jace IS still compleated, but his mind is still his own considering how many times his mind has been turned to mush and came back as it is... also cuz of Elspeth's sword lodged on him.
Can't wait for tomorrow or Monday for the conclusion of this story arc. Also I can easily see Vraska and/or Jace being back on Ixalan.
Vraska seems to have died, but they haven't found the body...
And more important, seemly no card art of her death.
My take is that the part of the "good Vraska" that was able to seal itself inside of her psyche (in the secret part Jace created to evade Bolas back in the day) was able to take back control as the Phryexian parts of her died, and it activated a planeswalk away. Some extremely wounded but de-phyrexianized living Vraska may be recovering somewhere - yes maybe Ixalan!
I really liked both stories today. Amazing seeing Zhalfir found and back and now coming to the rescue to invade Phyrexia itself.
So that seems to be where Teferi ended up when he time-jumped/spirit-shifted/whatever at the end of his conversation with Urza in Brother's War. That has me thinking that the mysteries spirit watchers that have appeared in a couple of these stories are something else, though.
The story has had some great moments and I'm looking forward to the rest.

Note we haven't seen Zendikar yet. We have seen Tamiyo on Kamigawa, Lukka on Ikoria, Vraska (and kinda Jace) on Ravnica, Nissa on NP and Ajani on Theros. But not her, the last compleated walker. But regarding the fact that the story now shifted two gears up and we have just 4 stories left, either Zendikar will be somehow important to the whole or might be skipped.

Let's give it up for WOTC on how to write a captivating story, much better than the disaster that was War of the Spark. They're doing a GREAT job building suspense and executing it with some great homages to the OG invasion. Gerrard et al would be proud. *leg pop*

I could see Zendikar being covered in a side story as we have two left and possibly Theros in the other side story as well. But as they did hint that it might be Elspeth who goes to fight for Theros and that might be in a main story. As Aftermath deals with well...the aftermath, I could see them leaving some details there to be explained.

"You can tell how dumb someone is by how they use Mary Sue"
"It has been many years since they were called to war—but Zhalfir stands ready."
This part is probably the most awesome part of the story so far, on so many facets. Not only does it give a strong Rohirrim/Marvel End Game vibe, it also echos so many things of what made the original invasion great: Rathi overlaying Dominaria, phasing of Zhalfir, and combining those to let Zhalfir reappear ON New Phyrexia. Instead of denying his people a fight against evil, Teferi brought them directly to the heart of villainy for a final stand.
And I agree with Ryperior74, this better be an Invasion card all together!
I am surprised how much I like Wrenn, despite them not being all that much of a character (she's barely been featured in the stories leading up to this event). I guess that goes to show the worth of an interesting character concept.
I am a bit confused about the role Zhalfir is going to play. I assume it is going to "replace" NP in the Blind Eternities, which NP being phased out instead. So Wrenn is doing the bulk of the work here. While it may be a nice nostalgic moment, going by how the advance of the Phyrexian invading force has been described, it doesn't feel like a few thousand Zhalfirins would do much to turn the tide from a military perspective.
It's interesting that we're already seeing the beginnings of the post-MOM storyline in the Ravnica side story (the last Ral POV seems to be set after the end of the invasion).
Oh sounds like wrenn is planning to switch ping Zhalfir and new phyrexia places that would be the golden ticket to temporary remove phyrexians again and then they use them again when they want to let the phyrexians figure out how to escape a phased out world.
I got a personal prediction for chapter 9 it won’t be just Zhalfir joining the battlefield of the mirans I think the other planes were join in from wrenn pleading for help from the others it connected to
Yeah, it seems likely all the planes will beat back the Phyrexians. I think the key-art with Chandra and the assorted legendaries in a phyrexian-esque landscape is semi-literal.
I still think the premise of Wrenn binding with Realmbreaker was not well set-up and handled. It seems like everyone has reead the script that it will work and not one person (with the only exception being Melira and even then it was like "oh yeah, almost forgot") has done or said anything adressing the issue about Wrenn being compleated.
But people having read the script is a re-occuring problem in MtG stories.
But quality-wise today's stories were much better than the beginning ones and the ONE ones.
I'd like to know the other two gods converted by Phyrexia. Seems Thassa is spared thus far, based on her using the Biden to fight back against an invading war ship. Speaking of which, I'd like a note on how she recovered the Bident. I prefer her having Dekella, and suspect devotion restored her and Heliod's spears, but without any acknowledgement of this, it's just awkward.
I have doubts WOTC will sacrifice these planes, which are highly successful. Teferi pulling a time rewind on all this hot ass mess wouldn't trouble me in the slightest.
I still don’t feel calling that Urabrask and sheoldred are truly dead until I see chapters 9-10 not bringing them back
Look at myr sire flavor text. And case in point is Roxith was originally dead but sheoldred rebuilt him later. And ofcoarse 200+ years in the future Ertai Resurrected
You know I’m looking again act the Urabrask 3.0 picture and his torture and I notice something
I might be over thinking this but…aren’t the tears of where his hands were almost exactly where the Shredder claws start?
Urabrask did say "Phyrexia cannot thrive if there is only one Phyrexia.", so I can actually see him incorporating bits and pieces of the other praetors to create a 5-coloured praetor and escaping into some obscure corner of the multiverse.
But the way the story seems to be going it seems that WotC will shelve Phyrexia the way they shelved Bolas. Out of sight for now but always with a possibility at bringing them back.
Also, still very confused what difference Zhalfir is going to make in the grand scheme of things. The phyrexians have the numbers to invade not only a single plane but the entire multiverse and yet the population of what, pre-industrial Great Britain, that is utterly unprepared dealing with glistening oil, is going to turn the tide?
“There are no weak Jews. I am descended from those who wrestle angels and kill giants. We were chosen by God. You were chosen by a pathetic little man who can't seem to grow a full mustache"
"You can tell how dumb someone is by how they use Mary Sue"
Not only that, but the angels of New Capenna have been unleashed as a counter attack, bring halo with them.
And maybe Nahiri is dead? Hard to tell if she survived the crash and she might have broken free from phyrexia as Tazri notes for a moment Nahiri seemed to be in horror seeing her own sword hands.

yep so thats a mega point for my theory it wont be just zhalfir joining the mirrans on nw phytrexia to fight the phyrexians the angels that were on new capenna might also be joining the mirrans.
By the way could this be a teaser for thr long awaited Wild West set?
With the wastes of park heights the Wild West part could be phase one on rebuilding new capena back to urban like and it starts Wild West like.
Not only that, but the angels of New Capenna have been unleashed as a counter attack, bring halo with them.
And with a lot of these invaded Planes having angels with them, maybe they could do some sort of Harmonization with their "sisters and brothers" and spread Halo even more (maybe even +Elspeth?)... that would be a neato collabo... interplanar Angel network~! Yosha!
