Blurb; Elesh Norn plans to expand and bring the glory of New Phyrexia to the other planes through the phyrexian world tree "Realmbreaker" and our heroes must muster the entire Multiverse together for one epic climactic battle.
In Aftermath; Aftermath serves as an epilogue, tying up some loose ends and starting new beginnings. What is left when the dust settles after the very fabric of the Multiverse has fundamentally in a event that hasn't been seen since the Mending, and we will learn where our heroes go from here.

this prelrease box has Ghalta, Primal Hunger on the side so ixalan will be referenced (plus the angel wing looks capenna like)
secondly in the tezzert side story mentions alara is under attack and tezzert tips to rafiq the bant angels could be a secret weapon against phyrexians (several other lesser known planes also mentioned in the story as well.)

Of note;
-Story starts the 16th and ends on the 27th. 29th will start card previews.
- The Theros Gods aren't being compleated per say, they transforming as a result of their followers being compleated.
EDIT: It seems Ajani is the one who comes up with the way to compleate the Theros gods which is a follow up on his story thread on Theros after Elspeth died.
-THere will be be more than 3 planeswalker cards but less than 10.
-Aftermath will be a micro set thats all story based, 50 cards sold in 5 card packs.
- Algenus and Linden die. I'm personally upset at this

Hm, I don't like that the first look at my favourite plane (Lorwyn) in years is going to be of it being invaded by Phyrexia. But you've got to take what you can get.
Anyway, considering how there seems to be time for a long and ceremonious funeral for Linden and Kenrith in Aftermath, I guess most of the planes will be fine in the end. I'm suspecting they will go with a "if you kill the queen all the goons die too" solution of sorts.
Also, I guess we'll just have to forget the whole "Phyrexian oil is filled with nanobots and one scratch is enough" thing from ONE. Because if that was taken to its logical conclusion, Phyrexia wouldn't really have to send troops anywhere. Just hook the world up to Realmbreaker, let the oil seep in, and you're done. But that wouldn't make for a very exciting final battle now, wouldn't it...
On a more positive note, if this is going to lead to the planes being "semi-connected" to each other in the way the realms from Kaldheim are, I'm looking forward to it. It removes the constraints for the story to exclusively focus on PWs plane-hopping and allows for interesting new storytelling opportunities (in theory, at least).
Man, the WOTC Staff really reeled from the post-War of the Spark survivor comments, huh? The Kenriths, and Ayara... I am waiting in worried anxiety to see the dead-list post-Aftermath....
ps. I peeked on Elspeth in the product shots looking like a Saint Seiya character... wonder what she'll be post-Moment of Truth.

So Moment of Truth indicates that Elspeth is alive.
And that cyber-wearing female sword-wielder with the double circles on the sword's hilt...my first guess was Elspeth, but given the sword's similarity to the Kenriths' swords, I'm actually starting to think that's Rowan.

IIRC, Rowan is blonde right? Still leaning that it's Elspeth... worst... its just another generic knight.

This makes me question what will happen to Calix as he's a Planeswalker and what will happen once he finds out his plane is lost. Also, would be a bummer if Tibalt doesn't get a new card since he's now compleated and... I guess that's enough compleated Walkers since do want a bit more of these walkers compleated, but I guess they'll have better stories to be told in different areas than being brought into this "Big" Multiverse-Ending battle.
I could see a cycle of Legendaries that transformed into their Phyrexianized version.
I wonder where the Jeskai and Esper commanders came from...
I'm sure Elspeth shouldn't die again... right?
Now we wait til' the story is released and things pass so what will be the aftermath of this battle.
Well, frankly... i am still hoping for some timetravel-shenanigans to ensure the invasion did not happen in such extent.
Because what you see in the lifelands, is crazy - it looks like every single plane invaded is being phyrexianized beyond recognition (Theros looks the worst, with Capenna and Ikoria close behind.
On the other hand, the single card from Aftermath look like the battles will actually happen and have real high-profile casualties. I really do not know how the planes could return to any semblance of their former selves (again, Theros with seas turned to oil seems to be the worst).
The only good thing I see here are the 10 main + 8 side stories. Hell, if this is the end of the Multiverse as we know it, it friggin' deserves it.

I'm honestly kinda pumped. Set gives me Time Spiral vibes with the whole drawing from all of Magic history, except this time it's mainly flavour and not mechanics.
Seeing old planes again is a treat. The legends I'm more lukewarm about than I feel I should, haha. I think the inflation of legends being printed with WotC focus on commander kinda devalued the legendary status. Who was Lier again? That one ninja teaming up with that one goblin on Kamigawa? Yeah.
Curious if the set will live up to the hype. And the increased number of stories is very welcome.
I haven't been this pumped for a Magic Story in years. I'm sold.
Norn and the praetors are some of my favorite villains, and while it will be sad to see some of them (or all of them )die in the end, what an epic finale this is shaping up to be. This is looking like the Phyrexian Apocalypse of my dreams.
I enjoyed the original Invasion block, too, but the sheer scale of that world war never really featured on the cards themselves. But MOM is giving me that same overbearing, "all is lost," end-of-the-world-as-we-know-it sensation that the Apocalypse novel instilled in me.
Elesh Norn will never be as ancient, vast, and terrifying as Yawgmoth. But damn, that girl can play ball.
On the other hand, the single card from Aftermath look like the battles will actually happen and have real high-profile casualties. I really do not know how the planes could return to any semblance of their former selves (again, Theros with seas turned to oil seems to be the worst).
Eh, I wouldn't worry too much about it. Wizards does recognize the planes they've made as valuable marketing tools for their brand, so they'll be careful to not **** them up too much. Some important characters will get killed off, some important landmarks destroyed ... but everything will be more or less back to normal pretty fast. Thinking about planes like Innistrad, Zendikar, and Dominaria after Time Spiral here.
We might also have a time skip of five or ten years. We're long due for one.
Big timeskips followed Apocalypse, Scourge, and Time Spiral, but we haven't had even a small timeskip since Shards of Alara way back in 2009. If any event ought to necessitate one, it would be a Multiverse-wide Phyrexian Doomsday event.
Well, frankly... i am still hoping for some timetravel-shenanigans to ensure the invasion did not happen in such extent.

If time travel-shenanigans isn't going to be a huge part of how New Phyrexia is going to be beaten, I am leaning to Elspeth counter-engineering the glistening oil to halo and pretty much obliterating the Phyrexians and healing those who are corrupted...
I too am at lost on how they're gonna tackle the pretty much changed planes post-Invasion.... I surely am glad that at least we have MOM: Aftermath unlike what happened with post-War of the Spark...
