Hm, Quest for Karn still seems to be mostly canon (Venser died saving Karn, Elspeth is known to the Phyrexians, Tezzeret works with them (though maybe because of different motives)) so both Elspeth and Tezzeret should still be immune to the glistening oil and therefore compleation. Unless the compleation process for planeswalkers with the reality chip somehow undermines the immunity of course. So it might be that Vivian is the one most in danger of being compleated by the end of the story (with her motivations of combining nature with technology into a balanced whole being warped to think of Phyrexia as the perfect synthesis of both).

well tezzeret just said in the story the planar bridge is getting effected by phyresis and May compleat him if it gets too corrupted
and Second… Urabrask is not into compleating people unless they request it/in their will to be. That’s part of the reason why he let the mirans stay alive in his realm if they don't cause trouble

The setting is interesting. I like the Obscura a lot
Love all the Elspeth art and lore thus far as well
my only complaint this far is if Ob kills Xander. I’m sick to death or Planeswalkers and would prefer to only have Elspeth here and explore her backstory and the history of the plane instead of Ob and the worst character in MtG, Vivian, who had the worst stories
Capenna the plane* was once more high fantasy and the high family originally where more traditional high fantasy factions that evolved into the more modern families;
Obscure where once oracles and seers who would advise kings
Maestros where the nobel classes who kept the tradionas and history of Old Capenna
Riveters where blacksmith and builders and Ziatora before the deals used to love to fight knights for fun
Cabaret where druids who once did parties to commune with nature and now party non-stop as they are cut off from true nature
Brokers where wandering knights who would make deals with people for protection for things like food and shelter.
*the city is the only thing of note of the plane so seemly Capenna is the best name for the plane with New Capenna meaning the city

Ok theory crafting some stuff based on thr side story and today
1. Elsepth may actually be a Angel from this plane and she just doesn't know it yet, part of this is her family name on graves has been mentioned from gravestones on each other epilogue so far.
THIS. This seems right.

Something I noticed from the Command Zone video... The predecessors of the Brokers used to be traveling knights. The Brokers share colors with Bant, and if I recall, the real-world term for a wandering knight is a Knight-Errant. With Elspeth's homecoming, I can't help but wonder how much of this is intentional and how much is happy coincidence.

The stories reveal Elspeth has fallen in with the Maestros and is trying to "get a job" with the Cabaretti by infiltrating them, so I think it's just happy coincidence unless Elspeth somehow picks up a Broker job to go along with those.
(Seemingly the only reason why Elspeth is primarily working for the Maestros right now is because the Maestros are somehow the only crime family with enough sense to care about and archive what happened to Old Capenna.)

oh and i should note this were doing the cruch so far
it happening again so far we only have 3 pictures of planeswalkers but the cruch suggests their may be a 4th planeswalker card. so maybe Urabrask really does compleat a planeswalker.

So we do end up with Xander dead at Ob Nixilis's feet after all:
The mighty head of the Maestros, the infamous Xander, master assassin. Not the master of anything now. Ob Nixilis snorted and spit on the mutilated body that lay at his feet. The vampire was hardly recognizable after the fall...
I suppose the twist is that we feel sorry for Xander at this point. At least the Maestros will be less likely to scream at Elspeth for behaving unpredictably at the Crescendo now.
In the meantime, I actually suspect that Lagrella in the Obscura side story isn't playing with complete information and that Giada may actually be MTG's first legendary Nephilim (in the sense of Nephilim as the offspring of angels). In Episode 3, all Giada is described as is a "young woman". In Episode 4, Elspeth similarly refers to Giada as a "young woman who's in danger." Either Giada is hiding wings really well or she may be only part angel. Either way, now I'm wondering how the angels delivered what Xander describes in Episode 3 as "the last gift of the angels." (Maybe the angels reluctantly mated with a human and that's why the Halo supply is initially limited?)
In the meantime, a little bit of me is surprised that Anhelo's daughter is implied to be human.
Urabrask suposivly went to new capenna to investigate the old phyrexians right?
what if it’s elesh giving him the order to do that and Urabrask and tezzeret realized that’s a golden opportunity to hide there and conspire against her studying the halo instead of finding the old phyrexians
So, Giada looks like a human woman, but can make Halo, which is supposed to be a gift from the angels. Urabrask wants Halo to help him fight Elesh Norn. Urabrask also wants Elspeth's help because Elesh Norn is afraid of her. The angels of this plane were somehow able to hold off a previous Phyrexian invasion and protect the city of New Capenna.
Giada doesn't have the wings of angels, so maybe she's descended from angels interbreeding with humans, or maybe the angels of this plane only manifest their wings under certain criteria. In the art we see of Elspeth's new sword, it looks like it has Halo swirling around in a sphere between the hilt and the blade. Am I alone in thinking that Elpseth might be some sort of angel or angelic descendant in a similar manner to Giada? The feathered clothing she wears in the artwork does give off an angelic vibe, I think. Maybe it's a coincidence, but maybe it's a symbolic message from the art team.

Anyone else have any thoughts about this?
im speculating elsepth might be a dcendant of a angel they just don't believe us because angels can't have a spark
Other than Serra's realm (very old canon) angels cannot breed with humans due to being manifestations of white mana. The closest thing would be the Innistrad archmages claiming descent from Avacyn but this is never ellaborated upon.
Mob Nixilis literally just come and toppled the rule of five families built over centuries, and the families couldn't even prevent, hinder, or defend themselves from his undermining? If he's taking Capenna by brute force, then I can understand how the families would have trouble fighting him, but Mob beat five families from scratch, in a GANGSTER game, all at once. Huh?
I'm not partial to modern MtG stories where PWs just swoop in and alter the world structure at will, and done so with such ease. It's far more interesting to read about how residents of each plane solve their own crisis, instead of having foreigners descend like some Hollywood heroes/villains, while the natives remain helpless audience. The side stories are so much better than ones with PWs in it.
And writers should really learn that showing is always better than telling. Unveil a character trait with gestures, mood, expressions, little talks, is better than writing it all out like a wikipedia entry.

That is the default but Capenna angels might work differently. That said I do think it would be more likely to have a similar deal with the family heads except instead of becoming demons they turned angelic.

Well we know chapter 5 is when elsepth is gonna find/meet Urabrask but what’s gonna happen
will she hear him and maybe tezzeret out despite her hatered/fear to phyrexians and tezzeret and her had bad history
Or will she just go onslaught
Second elspeth did something ridiculously dangerous and she doesn't know it.
Leaving Giada with vivien… because she could bring her to Urabrask since it’s the cabaretti's suposive infinite halo source.
Great points here! Combine that with the in-episode speculation that Halo was developed to fight Phyrexians vs. Halo's most apparent effects on consumers being merely to enhance their magical abilities and mood, and now I'm curious how well Urabrask can drink Halo...maybe he might even get healed by the Halo instead of the in-episode speculation that he might get hurt?
And if Urabrask gets healed by Halo, and he and Giada get anywhere near each other...

Xander is really sympathetic. We know he might bite the dust thanks to Ob. I'd feel almost sad.
Anyone thinks that the mysterious Cabaretti's "Font" is somehow linked to the mysterious silent woman, Giada? ¨
I wonder whether Elspeth will sing and/or dance in the next installment.
Also, loving the Italian names. Vantoleone is "proud lion", Caldaia is "cauldron", etc..
I do not mind the cephalids.

Yeah, Xander being one of the most sympathetic characters is a welcome and unexpected twist.
