Do any of the cards actually show any merge gates? I find it weird how under-represented they are in the art despite being mentioned so often in the stories and the lore.

- The Uprisers, Order of the Jukai and Futurists all have different faction names: Hisoku instead of Asari, Hanami instead of Jukai and Kindai instead of Saiba. This seems to suggest that the faction names were shifted last second. The fact that the old Kamigawa name locations remain indicates that these changes occured very late.
- Everyone is evil. Like, not a single benevolent character.
Is this official? I haven't seen anyone from Wizards talking about it ... feels like a very weird thing to pop up on a random site.
I've seen a few wotc staff talk on this on twitter and such.

“There are no weak Jews. I am descended from those who wrestle angels and kill giants. We were chosen by God. You were chosen by a pathetic little man who can't seem to grow a full mustache"
"You can tell how dumb someone is by how they use Mary Sue"
If so this plus the visual novel plus the stupid anime song proves that Creative is really proud of this setting. I for the most part am as well, they managed to integrate old Kamigawa permanently with the tradition side of the plane's conflict.
How much more media are they going to put out there? haha
The Japanese site often does a manga version of the story, this time thought they def stepped up and put more effort into it.

Interesting, the manga adapted some of the storybeats way better and others worse than the text story. For example, I didn't really feel much when the Wanderer's spark became unstable again and she was forced to leave Kamigawa in the text story, but in the manga it becomes much clearer how devastating this is for Kyodai, Kaito and the Wanderer herself. On the other hand Tamiyo's compleation was handled better and more tragically in the text story in my opinion.
But yeah, overall I think Creative nailed a futuristic Kamigawa with this set and the story. The groups and conflicts are understandable and there is no "war for war's sake" like it is on many other planes. And I really think the blend of futuristic technology and kami magic worked out quite well. I hope the set does well enough to give us a return in the future.

Wednesday's story did at least make Risona's thinking of why an absent emperor is worse than no emperor at all make quite a lot more sense: the complete lack of an emperor will probably be very temporary, while an absent emperor can and does remain absent for years, unable to provide any aid for the poverty-stricken.
I have to say, this thread is a complete ghost town now.
I'll update on the VN once I finish it.
I lost motivation with all the retcons. I was hoping to see the Sisters, Michiko and Kyodai, as Kami entities. They could have still had emperors that bond with them both, rather than leaving Michiko to be mortal. It's also sad that we never followed up with Night's Reach, and have entirely new Myojin instead. The dragons all having new names is forgivable but also unnecessary IMO. Why not reincarnate them? idk, just feels like a lot was changed that didn't need to be.

well there’s always commander decks/supplament sets to show kyodai and michiko together as sisters of flesh and spirit

Well, it was a new Kamigawa or never a Kamigawa again. I can live with that, though I fully understand your setiment (for once).
I like how they referenced Night's Reach (and ONLY her, from all the five myojin) in a saga and in the Invoke Despair card.
If they give me a Sisters of Flesh and Spirit card in Commander or Commander Legends sometimes in the future, I'd forgive them.
As for the dragons, the gender switches get on my nerves. Kokusho and Keiga were explicitly female, whereas the other three male. Now Jugan was retconned into a female and Kokusho is retro-referred as male...

The other myojin are referenced in the other invoke cards (unless you mean just the saga than makes sense as she played a big role in the story similar to why we got jugan defends the temple)

Cause they are using the current forms pronouns to refer to the dragons past. Using avatar as an example; "In her past life Avatar Korra was Aang the last air bender and she had master the four elements so she could take down the fire lord".

It harkens back to old Kamigawa pretty well. How nostalgic.

Yes. Apparently the studio thingie gets commissioned for official VNs of several projects.
