Among all the weird new confirmation there's also this:
"Trailing after our trip to Kamigawa like a detective with gumption, the following Standard release takes us to the Streets of New Capenna—a city with special significance to Elspeth, built by angels now run by three-color demon crime families.
We'll race through the Streets of New Capenna in the second quarter of 2022."
I'm down for any magic setting thats not European and/or Medieval/non-modern*
*I love them too but I think there should be more in the larger genre and magic as a multiverse setting should be showing a large range of settings.

“There are no weak Jews. I am descended from those who wrestle angels and kill giants. We were chosen by God. You were chosen by a pathetic little man who can't seem to grow a full mustache"
"You can tell how dumb someone is by how they use Mary Sue"
I've read other posters in the Rumor Mill compare the New Capenna art to Art Deco - as one of those art pieces gave me huge Bioshock vibes, I think those posters are right on the money.
The name "Capenna" does sound vaguely Roman/Latin to me, though....
You know, I sometimes wonder how planeswalkers from very medieval or even primal planes react to jumping to the more technologically/magically advanced ones. I could see someone from Ikoria being overwhelmed by the (superficial) security and vastness of the city of Ravnica, someone from Amonkhet being lost in the prosperous and industrialized Kaladesh and someone from Tarkir having a hard time adapting to the much more subtle (in comparison) urban ways of New Capenna. That's actually something that the story really could get more out of: How being able to experience such extremely novel impressions like whole new worlds would change the planeswalker himself. They somewhat did that with Teyo, but even he seemed to become very blasé about everything pretty quickly (granted, he was thrust into a near apocalypse and had to adapt quickly but still). Other planeswalkers often don't even bat an eye about such things.
Ob Nixilis, who seems to be from a pretty standard medieval plane from what I can gather and was imprisoned on Zendikar (another more primal world) for centuries seems to have no problem adapting to New Capenna, at least judging from the promotional art. I just wish they would do more with the concept. Perhaps they do that with him, I still have my hopes up.
All I'm hoping from New Capenna is Elspeth being involved with the story more. Love the concept artwork and theme and Ob is absolutely perfect for this gangster theme.
I just hope the new three color combinations can be as inspiring as Strixhaven with theirs, flavor wise.
uhh strixhaven was the first enemy color set since shadowmore
but what I can tell you it’s very very likely new capena will be the first ever shard set since alara block (plus grixis can bring the best demon tribal legend because of prince of thralls

Maybe I'm a basic ***** but I'm intrigued.

As native speaker italian I can say "capenna" totally sounds like a typical pseudo italian-american surname of a los angeles mafioso / gangster.
