I also really like how Lorehold has been handled both design and flavor-wise to keep it different from Boros.
He also said that some majors would be split between two or more schools (i.e. someone with that specific interest would have to do courses in both), for example I would say that my own research subjects (bioinformatics, genomics, evolutionary biology) would be a split major between Quandrix and Witherbloom. I'm also surprised that he stated that meteorology would be Witherbloom, when it is a very math-heavy subject and fits much better in Quandrix in my opinion.

Agreed. Lorehold has been the surprising one for me. A pleasant one. I wonder if creative writing would fall within Silverquill or Prismari. Maybe an overlap of the two? Does Silverquill write the plays and Prismari perform them? Interesting. Loving the flavor.
I mean, Blogatog is Maro answering fan questions in his free time. He probably assigned meteorology to Witherbloom because it feels "nature-y." But since Witherbloom uses component-based Magic while Quandrix focuses on theoretical patterns, I agree that it it's a better fit for Quandrix.
I've noticed a similar thing for Lorehold: Maro has said that the study of all foreign languages is a Silverquill thing, but we've already seen a Lorehold card showing students learning a language, and language learning is pretty much essential for the study of history. I guess contemporary use of foreign languages is in Silverquill while foreign languages for historical research purposes are in Lorehold.
I like the Lorehold flavor, although I kind of wish they had focused more on the artifact theme instead of the spirit theme. In addition to artifacts just being thematically closer to the archeology, I don't really like the "why do research when you can just ask the real persons ghost" angle. I have a background in cultural studies and anthropology (I'd definitely be in Lorehold with a few courses in Silverquill), and to me the concept of "history" Wizards is working with here seems a bit one-dimensional.

I don't think it's "ask people instead of research" but that it helps you get closer to a first hand account. Focusing on spirits also helps make it much more distinctly magical, White/Red already does Equipment pretty regularly so this gives it a new angle mechanically as well.
I love how the narrative nearly paints the Oriq sympathetically as victims of a class struggle, then has their Voldemint analogue casually sacrifice them.
The second story was ... OK? It felt perfunctory, to move stuff along. I kind of wish they'd cut out more of the fight scenes, almost every story has them and they're always kind of tedious to read. I'd prefer more character stuff instead.

Yeah, I could see how it could be spun to be more interesting, but we don't know for sure so far. Stonebound Mentor's and Spirit Summoning's flavor text sure makes it seem like "you ask them, and they tell you the facts", which would be kind of lame. Also, I'd be interested in where they get the statues from. Can you make new spirit sculptures, or are they all being found (Make Your Mark suggests the former)? Do you have to die to have a spirit scultpure made out of you?
I might be missing something, but didn't Gideon lose his sural in the fight against Bolas on Amonkhet? I know it's mentioned that its lost at the beginning of the Dominaria story. In this week's story has Liliana has it when talking to Witherbloom. Did I miss a story where Gideon recovered it, or is the implication that Liliana went back to Amonkhet and got it?
I liked the Planeswalkers Guide, it's always nice when a plane has a map! My only complaint is that for being described as being close to the Witherbloom campus of Strixhaven, the Detention Bog looks to be ridiculously far way - which either makes the description further up in the article not accurate, or the northern continent super small.
I really hope Lilliana discovers a method of reviving Gideon. Honestly, her story arc continues to be fascinating to me. She really is a very well-developed and interesting character for many reasons.
I like the plane of Arcavios has some stuff going on outside of the school and Arcavios could be an enemy color set if they wanted to return without the spell matter themes.
I wish we got a small section that lists the tribes of the plane, they have such a huge diverse range of beings it would be nice to get a full list. It neat tribes like Kor, Rhox, Djinn/Effets, Dryads and Loxodons all getting some love spotlight.
Archaic are neat and I wonder why they are avatars and wonder if Archaics are related to the Blood Avatar that gonna be summoned. Also why avatars and just just plain giants.

I hope she found it, but decided not to use it. Don't forget Liliana's tragedy started and (continued) because of her refusal to say good bye.
I appreciated that, compare to other new planes of late, Arcavios presented many unsolved mysteries such as the Southern continent and the Archs. It's always good for a fantasy world to keep some secrets for audience.
The elder dragons appear to be more benevolent (and wiser) than many other elder dragons, if Witherbloom's demeanor is of any indication.
The whole setting of Strixhaven and Arcavios reminds me of Earthsea, where Wizards after leaving school rejoin communities to do simple work, rather than dramatic adventure like in so many other fantasies. Even Lukka noticed that magic on this plane is so everyday.
Updated the Op with all know info and hopefully will just add whatever the commander deck legends bring.

Based on Cram Session's flavortext, I think that Gyome is our promised chef.
I am also missing the lead character on Witherbloom Command. The rest of Commands has the face students there, but not Witherbloom - instead of Dina, it is something like a small treefolk - the closest thing to this is found on Body of Research¨- yet this "Needledeep" (treefolk-hinting name) is apparently a Quandrix member. Dina is not even depicted on the command - there is a troll and an elf in the foreground, and bunch of humans in the background.

I heartily agree. This is the point in Liliana's character growth where she needs to not take the easiest route, deal with her feelings of loss, regret, and guilt, and move on. Sometimes the most appropriate thing a hero can do to complete their quest is abandon it, and I hope Liliana learns that lesson.

Dina is not missing in the set, she is missing on the card Whiterbloom Command. She is the only face student to have this treatment, all the others are on their respective command cards.
I wonder whats going on with the Angels of this plane, as so far the only one seems to be a statue with something using it like a body similar to the spirits.

-I don't like we start with the twins fighting (even if its total in character) and the foreshadowing crackle with power.
-Super cute that Will and Quint are friends.
-"There is always a spell" hmmm
-Not a good idea to bring up the witch mom Will...
-Nice nod to the cards in the Mage Tower game
-I do like the nod that Liliana would want Will and Rowan to not fight after how everything went down between her and her brother.
-Clever Will picking up on Liliana
-Very much setting up Rowan turning bad :/
-Kasmina vs Lukka was neat just to see more of what Kasmina can do and such. Her bond with owls and such also helps show off the green side and I like the feather thing that happens when she planeswalks.
-Lukka is the one controlling the mage hunters leading the attack.

if there is praetor hiding in strixhaven it’s logically in quandrix
what does the “Phi” symbol look like? And add “rexian” too it.

-Lukka been on plane for 3 weeks or so
-The Oriq are a planar issues wide and not just one for the school.
-Witherbloom is female.
-Liliana came back to the plane to see if there was anyways to truly bring back Gideon (and not just a zombie).
-THe fox (Mila), Lukka bonds with seems to be more intelligent than not.
-"Oriq, the masked mages who used magic "forbidden by the colleges of Strixhaven,".
-I like seeing Liliana is still following WWGD? (What would Gideon do?).
-Extus seems to be a naive, not sure how he knows about Lukka yet.
