The phyrexians show up on other planes (I doubt Kaldheim will be about a fullblown invasion)
There are still mirrans alive on Mirrodin New Phyrexia
Koth is not willing to give up the mirrans (as far as I understand it?)
Tezzeret has the bridge that allows planeswalkers, inorganic material and organic material coated in special inorganic material (like lazotep) to use the bridge to travel between planes
Karn has retrieved the (Golgothan?) Sylex, able to cause massive devastation
The new Kaldheim native planeswalker Tyvar Kell has the ability to transmute flesh into any material he has access to, temporarily
So what are the odds the following will happen with the plot in the next sets/years:
The Phyrexians will show up in multiple worlds, in small numbers, maybe just one praetor per set. Vorinclex is in Kaldheim, Urabrask may be in Strixhaven etc etc.
Karn wishes to destroy New Phyrexia by destabilizing the core of Mirrodin using the Sylex. Koth does not want to let this happen and after a while they learn of Tyvar's powers and realize they can evacuate the mirrans using his powers and the bridge, which means they'll go after Tezzeret to either force him to cooperate or extract the bridge from his body.
The gatewatch teams up with Karn and retrieve a sample of lazotep from Ravnica or Amonkhet (Amonkhet would be a nice excuse to go back to the plane) for Tyvar to use as a substrate for his powers, turning the mirrans into lazotep and evacuating them elsewhere (Maybe even Amonkhet, they sure could use the numbers to rebuild and the names of the mirrans names were vaguely african to begin with? And there's no overlap in races which means each world can keep its identity.)
Karn then uses the Sylex to destabilize New Phyrexia, destroying the plane and the hub of New Phyrexian activity, though pockets of phyrexians exist elsewhere and Karn, Elspeth, Koth and maybe part of the gatewatch go out to find and destroy the last phyrexians.
The ending even leaves WotC and out in case they want to bring back the Phyrexians again in the future. (Because of course they will.)
That sounds amazing. I really hope they do this or something similar. It must not be a coincidence vorinclex is in the set. The whole story would fit tyvar's boasting personality
im personally looking forward to whatever representation ratoskr gets! theres a lot of possibilities and here are what i hope we get.
ratoskr, goader of ancients - [1][u][r][g] - legendary creature - 5/5
trample, haste
[u][r][t]: ~ deals X damage to target creature or planeswalker, were X is the number of cards in your hand +1.
all creatures your opponents cotrol are "goaded" (the goaded effect probably written out, as kaldheim probably wont have goad)
this... this is the "magnus chase" ratoskr, being a massive squirrel who LITTERALLY ****ing kills people with his voice, fracturing their mind under the weight of HUNDREDS of insults conveyed in a single (SINGLE!!!) bark. this is my ideal, badass ratosker that I can only hope to get.
i know where you got that it’s card fake
the Same source claimed oko is in the set and none of the 4 walkers are him
but we are going to get a Ratatoskr
i'm... not sure what you mean... thats a card I made on the spot cause as an example..?

I'm at a loss for words as to the potential invasion of Kaldheim by
New Phyrexia
. Strangely enough, if done right I think this could be an amazing way to advance the plot while giving our Viking- 'Tribes' something to help unite them against a common threat.
I am also perfectly ok with the idea of the entire plane 'going to hel', so to speak and a Ragnorak purge of their plane being foretold and required in order to cleanse the plane of invaders. Newly beloved populations and persons could even take refuge in maybe the last Realm to not be yet tainted by
New Phyrexia
as the other nine realms are cosmically torched and renewed.

-Kaldheim is indeed made of mini-planes together as one
-There are more than the 10 we are NOT gonna see in this set.
-The dogsun light we been seeing is Starnheim (Valkyries realm)
-Its rare but possible for a normal person on Kaldheim to cross realms, often using omen paths that open up between the realms. Shapeshifter seemly can move inbtween them freely.
-There are cosmic animals that are the oldest being on the plane and can freely cross planes. No set number.
-The current gods have kept out Koma since it was heavley worshiiped by the elves. The evles think this is harming the world tree and might be how Phyrexia was able to link.
-The gods are super powerful beings that are connected to the world tree. There have been many "familes" and it seem they each get their powers in a different way. The Skoti, the current family of gods, use an elixir made from the sap of the world tree. It slow their aging and gives the godly powers. Its said the elf gods got power from Koma.
-Tyrite is the sap and its the blue stuff we saw in the trailer. Things that touched with its power has an aura borelis like light.
-the guide lists 12 gods, wonder how that will be divided up.
-Bretagard is the relam of humans who are divided into five clans who rule over an area;
W Beskir clan in Feltmark that is where the coded of the clan where made and carried out. Ruled by two women Maja and Sigrid.
U Omenseekers who cross sea (like the Kirda Sea) and realms for knowelge. Ruled by Inga Rune-Eyes.
B Skelle the most brutal clan who living in the Skelle Mire. Very much plays into the tropey brutal raider viking. They where greatly influenced by Varragoth who crossed over into that realm for a short time.
R Tuskeri clan in the Tusk Mountains are the most romantic viking, boastful, war loving and love to party. The ruler of the clan changes often as its earned by the best warrior or given away after someone did a great battle/deed. Curretn its Arni Goatleaper but from the band thats will preview him (and the leak), he changed his name.
G Kannah clan in the Aldergard forest. Thye are cursed from wondering too far from a tree or snow and ice will start storming and drive them back. Thye hate the gods and cosmic animals for this, as the elf gods cursed them and the Skoti havent bothered to un-curse them yet. Ruled by Fynn the Snakehunter who is the only mortal who has harmed Koma.
Named Cosmic animals;
Toski the squirrel
Koma the Serpent

Cosima was born a Cosmic animals
Named Gods;
Alrund is the god of wisdom. He won his extensive knowledge by battling the Cosmos monsters.
Reidane, the god of justice, is youthful, arrogant, fanatical, and fully committed to the cause of justice.
Halvar, the god of battle, is selfless, stalwart, unwavering, and always the most sensible person in any room.
Egon, the god of death, is one of the oldest of the gods, but he ages backwards. He has the appearance (and the bitter, negative attitude) of a teenage boy.
Toralf, the god of thunder, is a fearless risk-taker with a passion for wild feats and saga-worthy adventures.
Birgi is the god of boasting. Fun-loving and charismatic, she is always the center of attention as she travels across the realms.
Cosima, the god of the sea, is intensely curious and tempestuous. Born a Cosmos monster, she can't stand being in one place for too long.
Tergrid, the god of fear, is an accomplished warrior whose shadow has a terrifying life of its own.
Valki is the god of lies. Vain and selfish, he causes no end of trouble for the other gods. On purpose, of course.
sika is the god of the World Tree. She creates the Cosmos Elixir that allows the gods to maintain their supernatural power.
Kolvori is the god of kinship. Talkative and exuberant, she cares deeply about the fate of her divine family.
Jorn is the god of weather. He is an exceptional tracker who knows the swiftest, safest paths across (and between) every realm.

Interested in Phyrexia connection. I heard Kaya is hunting Vorinclex. If so, her being here is interesting after all, if she's not here to subvert gods or famous legendaries. Hope Tibalt isn't going to be a Mary Sue then.
I liked the first Kaldheim story, although the break in atmosphere between the first part of the story and the part where we switch to Kaya's POV was a bit jarring. It got better later on, but the opening paragraph of Kaya's POV felt like something straigt out of bad YA fiction.
I also feel that the concept of a "planeswalker economy" is kind of shaky. When you can go to so many different worlds, you'd need a lot of different types money to have enough of it on any of them. I guess it works out if you assume that most planeswalkers don't randomly walk all over the multiverse, but have a home cluster of planes that they visit more frequently than others.
Another thing I liked in this story was Vorinclex's power level - he was powerful, but not outright OP.
Regarding the PW guide, the first part was fine, but I'm mostly looking forward to part 2. I need more shapeshifter info!
I enjoyed the Kay and Niko articles, though admittedly in the Niko article it was difficult to keep track of everyone's names at times.
Edit: is it just me or is it weird that there is made no mention of Rat nor Teyo?
As much as I'd like some elements of the War of the Spark Novels retconned, I feel as though the sudden shift here into the new story feels a little jarring. While I'm glad that Rat is not on the plane with Kaya I think the story could have explained better how the trio parted ways for a time, and acknowledged that the three of them still had a close working relationship.
I like Rat as a planebound resident of Ravnica, and as a character I like Teyo even more and would prefer they remain in the lore somehow, and in Teyo's case become even more active. I however suspect that WotC are still trying to figure out how what elements to keep or throw away from the Novels.

I think this a weakness of having outside authors come in and work on stuff without being really able to talk to each other. They definitely had a lot smoother transitions as to why the characters where going to certain planes when it was done in house (like setting up Ixalan as far back in Zendikar).
So far we doesn't know where/when she got paid (my gut says Ashiok or Tibalt if we are revealed who it is) and so that leaves some time unaccounted for. I'm guessing Kaya and Teyo (wth Rat) went back to Ravnica to re-group with the gatewatch, a bit of time passed and Kaya got this job and (said in the text) figured it be a quick easy hero job.

I find it odd they spoil this, this soon they tend to try and save some of the more story spoil stuff towards the ending of the season and we haven't even gotten Maros design article. They also often leave the full context of the story out of the cards (since it hasn't been written yet) so while I think this is likely gonna go how we think it will, I think there might be more.

Love how Alrund was just so disgusted at Vorinclex he had to drop his disguise.
