My only nitpick here is that I wish the company acknowledged the corporate decision in retconning and downplaying Chandra and Nissa's relationship, not Weisman's, as they kinda threw him under the bus by not fully acknowledging their role in the controversy and that they had indeed made a mistake.
Greg handled himself by tossing them back under the bus when he wrote about being forced into writing what they published. Only idiots and the ignorant blame him for that still.

The writing isn't what being talked on. It was the community blaming Greg for being the one to break up Chandr and Nissa and saying Chadnra being into woman was a phase when it wasn't his choice.

Except the writing is being discussed. It was horrible. Read the reviews. The first book was torn apart just as much. It just reached a new fever pitch by the time the second came around and added even more insult to injury.
Greg literally broke them up in the most heinous, callous, juvenile way possible with his awful writing. The first sentence of the first novel made me cringe. A good author could accomplish the plot point in a way that felt satisfying, even reasonable. It could have been a moment of character development for them. Maturity or obligation to causes greater than their own romance. The possibilities were endless to make it palatable. Instead we got "decidedly straight" and "always been attracted to dudes, maaaaan" and "totally not for dat homo shyte y'know?" give me a freaking break.

Response to my latest novel, War of the Spark: Forsaken, has been understandably negative, particularly as a result of how the character of Chandra Nalaar was depicted in the book. My response is a bit late in coming, but here it is:
After reading the materials that preceded my work on Magic: The Gathering, I was particularly intrigued by the burgeoning relationship between Chandra and Nissa. I felt that it should culminate in the War of the Spark books. In lieu of bringing them together, as it was not a relationship that WotC planned to pursue,my goal was to write something that honored Chandra's feelings for Nissa and Nissa's feelings for Chandra, something that would give closure to their relationship in a sad but satisfying and understandable way. I believe that if readers had seen my original ideas for the chapter in question, they might have gotten a better sense of what I was trying to accomplish. They might have liked it better. Or maybe they wouldn't have. In any case, through the mutual creative/editorial process with WotC and Del Rey, we ended up with the final product that was published in Forsaken, which clearly didn't meet anyone's expectations or delivers on my intentions. And for that, I am truly sorry.
He had a different idea for how to break them up, Wizard and/or Del Rey (but I'm betting wizards) had him change it to something. Was his idea better, who know, but its clear the manner they broke up Chandra and Nissa seems too be on the wizards (or less likely but possible Del Ray) side of things. And could he be lying? Sure but not a single peep from wizard contracting him or trying to silence him.
The choice itself was awful and no quality of writing could change that they queer baited with Chandra.

Sooo, did annyone notice the conspicuous presence of the Undead behind that pic of a Demon?
That's why Kaya's here I bet.
I'm not too familiar with Norse but don't the sprits of Valhalla return from the dead to fight? That might explain the spirits on the plane. I do know there are zombies in Norse myth with the draugr.

exactly those are mtg's take on draugr's they might be zombies than can get a lot of +1/+1 counters on their own by the way since they seem to to have the power to grow at will and have super strength
im personally looking forward to whatever representation ratoskr gets! theres a lot of possibilities and here are what i hope we get.
ratoskr, goader of ancients - [1][u][r][g] - legendary creature - 5/5
trample, haste
[u][r][t]: ~ deals X damage to target creature or planeswalker, were X is the number of cards in your hand +1.
all creatures your opponents cotrol are "goaded" (the goaded effect probably written out, as kaldheim probably wont have goad)
this... this is the "magnus chase" ratoskr, being a massive squirrel who LITTERALLY ****ing kills people with his voice, fracturing their mind under the weight of HUNDREDS of insults conveyed in a single (SINGLE!!!) bark. this is my ideal, badass ratosker that I can only hope to get.

His writing ruined a lot more than just the Chandra/Nissa relationship, which I maintain is his fault in my opinion, but don't want to the thread to derail much more.
Cosmo Serpent plz! Can't wait for it to be a god too.
So what I gather from the teaser trailer and the cards spoiled so far is that Kaldheim has multiple pocket realms (just like in the source material) with different kinds of inhabitants. The gods can walk between the realms, which makes them mini-planeswalkers on their own plane. At least the sword of the battle god (an probably some other artifacts and methods) can open up "runepaths" between the realms, which also enable mortals to cross between them.
What I'm most intrigued by right now are the shapeshifters. It looks like their faces are made out of wood or something? I wonder what role they will play, they give off some serious puppet master vibes.
5 weeks of story, two per week one on the main story line and ones that are side stories to enhance the world. We will also get a Planeswalker's Guide to Kaldheim. No clue when they start.

i know where you got that it’s card fake
the Same source claimed oko is in the set and none of the 4 walkers are him
I certainly think this is curve ball and also still don't fully believe it (but out of shock, so far the card checks out so I'm not fighting over it) but as other suggested if we see small pockets of invasions and such, it would be a good use of the horror phyrexia can cause. We similar of that in the Bolas arc where each set also had a element Bolas needed for his pan (planar bride on Kaladesh, eternals on Amonkhet, immortal sun on Ixalan, Liliana/powerful necromancer on Dominara and the planar beacon on Ravnica) and would be effective as we the audience knows who they are but the current walkers (besides Elspeth and Karn, maybe Ajani and Tamiyo) don't.

Well the leaker did the lupe test with the cards (one of them was a card revealed already before this) and...the pattern looked correct unless I’m mistaking
so the million dollar question is how did the new phyrexia phyrexian's crack it on how to planeswalker similar to how yawgmoth did it? or did tibalt use something to get them over to kaldheim? or maybe something to be revealed in the future?
[/spoilers]
The phyrexians show up on other planes (I doubt Kaldheim will be about a fullblown invasion)
There are still mirrans alive on Mirrodin New Phyrexia
Koth is not willing to give up the mirrans (as far as I understand it?)
Tezzeret has the bridge that allows planeswalkers, inorganic material and organic material coated in special inorganic material (like lazotep) to use the bridge to travel between planes
Karn has retrieved the (Golgothan?) Sylex, able to cause massive devastation
The new Kaldheim native planeswalker Tyvar Kell has the ability to transmute flesh into any material he has access to, temporarily
So what are the odds the following will happen with the plot in the next sets/years:
The Phyrexians will show up in multiple worlds, in small numbers, maybe just one praetor per set. Vorinclex is in Kaldheim, Urabrask may be in Strixhaven etc etc.
Karn wishes to destroy New Phyrexia by destabilizing the core of Mirrodin using the Sylex. Koth does not want to let this happen and after a while they learn of Tyvar's powers and realize they can evacuate the mirrans using his powers and the bridge, which means they'll go after Tezzeret to either force him to cooperate or extract the bridge from his body.
The gatewatch teams up with Karn and retrieve a sample of lazotep from Ravnica or Amonkhet (Amonkhet would be a nice excuse to go back to the plane) for Tyvar to use as a substrate for his powers, turning the mirrans into lazotep and evacuating them elsewhere (Maybe even Amonkhet, they sure could use the numbers to rebuild and the names of the mirrans names were vaguely african to begin with? And there's no overlap in races which means each world can keep its identity.)
Karn then uses the Sylex to destabilize New Phyrexia, destroying the plane and the hub of New Phyrexian activity, though pockets of phyrexians exist elsewhere and Karn, Elspeth, Koth and maybe part of the gatewatch go out to find and destroy the last phyrexians.
The ending even leaves WotC and out in case they want to bring back the Phyrexians again in the future. (Because of course they will.)
