Well we gotten some leaks on Kaldheim and there is enough I feel like a thread could be put together. With how the community, both salvation and the wider magic community acts around certain characters and how wizards handles showing real world cultures I'm not sure I'll be active much for this set but I'll try to at least update this page with stuff like planeswalkers guides and/or announces about stories ect.
5 weeks of story, two per week one on the main story line and ones that are side stories to enhance the world. We will also get a Planeswalker's Guide to Kaldheim. No clue when they start.
Please keep leak stuff in spoilers.
Was leaked
-From ultra pro listing we know they are doing four boxes with planeswalkers art. While one of the boxes could be whatever the promo art is, this seems to hint that we are getting four walkers in this set.
-The miniatures and packaging showing that Kaya in one of the three/four walkers in the set. This might mean Teyo, Liliana and/or Rat are also on the plane or she could be acting solo. Kaya being here also hints at undead as well.
-The miniatures showed there are dwarfs, elves and shapeshifters on the plane. While the dwarves and elves are rooted in norse myth, the shapeshifters are hard to tell. Maybe a blue or black race to reflect Loki and other shape changing in myth.
-A picture of a booster box shows what is likely Tibalt on the plane, or maybe Azra.
The leaks;
-
-From miniatures shown we know of two gods, Reidane Goddess of Justice (who seems drawn on valkyrie myths) and Alrund God of Wisdom (magic version of Odin).
-The miniatures also showed off two being named the cosmic serpent and the comic wolf.
“There are no weak Jews. I am descended from those who wrestle angels and kill giants. We were chosen by God. You were chosen by a pathetic little man who can't seem to grow a full mustache"
"You can tell how dumb someone is by how they use Mary Sue"
If Reidane is the white aligned god then it'd be a good allusion to the sun being female in Norse myths, which I quite like. If Alrund is the blue aligned god then we might get to see a pantheon where the blue god holds sway.
We can assume that the red aligned god will probably be the Thor analogue, and the green one probably something based on the Vanir. That leaves the black one as either Loki, Hela or, if this goes pseudo-Tolkien, a Morgoth analogue.
Here's the Kaldheim story: There is a cold world that you won't get to see, because Planeswalkers arrive to overshadow all its characters, including its gods, so it ends up being a snowy backdrop for how Kaya is a better mage than any others, because she has a Spark. You know, that thing that confers no inherent advantage other than to travel, but here she is, breaking the metaphysical rules again, because Planeswalkers. After you're convinced she matters more than Kaldheim, we'll be on to Strixhaven.
Here's the Theros story: There is a vaguely warm world that you won't get to see, because Planeswalkers arrive to overshadow all its characters, including its gods, so it ends up being a snowy backdrop for how Elspeth is a better mage than any others, because she has a Spark. You know, that thing that confers no inherent advantage other than to travel, but here she is, breaking the metaphysical rules again, because Planeswalkers. After you're convinced she matters more than Theros, we'll be on to Tarkir/Ikoria.

Which is what exactly?
I could be wrong but I don't think @Mullerornis's response was given in support of your overall argument.
Why the negativity mate? You have a new Thassa, another Jace, Arixmethes, several new sea monsters, some of whom are legendary.
Why not celebrate Kaya?

Oh I love the game, many amazing cards in the last few years, this year included - it's the lore I think is in serious need of attention, with the first promising step being the return of weekly story articles written by the in-house creative team. I think the community in general is still reeling from Nic Kelman, War of the Spark, the idea that original Ravnica characters were killed off or displaced in favor of Planeswalkers (and the grave overall errors that entire series introduced to the lore) and Kaya breaking fundamental planeswalking rules just to shove Rat into the story (I don't find Jiang and his dog to be a break, for the record - but Kaya, I didn't like). My issue is a Vorthos lore concern, not one with the game itself. Theros Beyond Death, the new Jace card, Arixmethes and Sea monsters are all the reason I love this game (don't forget Brinelin) but those are the cards, I think a lot of people in the Kaldheim Rumor Mill thread are showing apprehension about Kaya showing up just to kill off some newly introduced character on our first visit to this plane, which is lame if true, because I personally find Legends to be part of a plane's identity, and I am not fond of them dying in place of Planeswalkers all the time, like Avacyn for example. They shouldn't be killed just to make a PW look like a badass. That said I am glad they left Heliod. Killing him would have ruined Theros. His meddling and the tension he brings is amusing.

Characters need to be able to die. I only regret that War of the Spark didn't kill more known characters. High stakes in storytelling is important, where death, sacrifice and loss means something.
Kaya is a ghost assassin. That's her schtick. If she killed off characters that were known and beloved the critics would then express umbrage over that.
As strange of a concept as it may seem, other people have their own things that they love about the game.
It was a treat during our return to Theros to read every Tiro rush of excitement for the things that everyone knows Tiro loves.
We're not asking for much. Just a little reciprocity would be nice.
It's perfectly ok to critique story-telling in a measured, but authentic way; examining what one liked and didn't like so much in a forum of discussion and debate.
But we literally have next to zero info regarding Kaldheim's story, so we really don't know how much of Forsaken's mishaps will still hold true, and regardless, none of these concerns were adequately expressed in the previous tirade on this particular thread.
It just read as a de-legitimation of Kaya.

Not so much Kaya, but Planeswalkers overall. I understand they are the face of the brand, even their main characters, but I don't appreciate them being OP, or Legendary Creatures that are part of the identity of a plane always suffering the stakes of a situation instead. I'm not calling for the story to arbitrarily kill off PWs in order to have stakes, like the precedent set by GOT. Just to cast them more as the mortal mage explorers that they are, with limitations and risk. When an entire dimension worships a Legendary Creature, and PWs walk in to make them look like pushovers on their own turf, it really defeats the purpose of the mending, or anything having stakes or a purpose.
Honestly can't agree. Kruphix even acknowledged the Theros gods weren't omnipotent, and even a random mortal could ascend once he figured out they weren't. In most mythology as well it isn't Gods >>>>>>>>>> the rest. You can have perfectly mortal beings doing amazing things, or half deities taking on Titans. Gods fall from their spot, and mortals can rise up to that same level as well. Honestly if they made Theros deities so amazing nothing could stop them but other Theros deities that wouldn't be at all accurate to Greek mythology.
And again, we know next to nothing about the story yet.
Feel free to contend an argument authentically Tiro, but please do so through reason, and by carefully weighing not only the 'bad', but also the 'good'.
There is so much that is good re: Kaya, and even more good to look forward to in Kaldheim.
No one is forcing you to change your mind, but should you go on another hateful attack as you previously did swinging into this thread, you will likely be reported for flaming.
Yeah, Kaya's characterisation is the only redeeming quality (besides Ral and Tomik) in that whole War of the Spark *****fest. Glad to see she'll be the planeswalker protagonist.
So...
Long time viewer, first time caller...
I've personally been looking forward to seeing Kaya's backstory come to the front burner. That said: could she be on Kaldheim because its her home plane?
She brokered into a deal with Bolas because of promises of healing her homeworld's "breaking sky"--I'm picturing something to the order of a borealis-type phemonenon that may have been weakened or warped/mutated.,.
Consider this: scientifically speaking, our own borealis is "beautiful" because it's our magnetosphere interacting with lethal radiation. So picture this: long periods of winter thins the atmosphere; or is the result of a "dying" internal core which slows the dynamo effect that powers the magnetosphere...in other words, the breaking sky could be a weakening borealis under a different term...
Thoughts? (That will bring this topic back on track)
it’s the booster box but correct me if wrong but...
the pack on the left side.... is that tibalt?
That or Azra are one the plane. But as Norse myth already has undead its not like they are lacking in the source material for zombies or vampires I'm willing to bet more on Tibalt than Azra.

"You can tell how dumb someone is by how they use Mary Sue"
Reidane, Goddess of Justice seems like a somewhat odd choice, since there's no direct parallel in the pantheon, but the identity of Norse gods is a lot more fluid than in some other pantheons. Odin might be the wisest of the gods, but he's not exactly god of wisdom. Baldr might be the most beautiful, but he's not really god of beauty. Skadi is the snowshoe goddess, but she's not goddess of snow shoes.
Redane could be a Skadi parallel-- she's certainly fearsome.
If there aren't sagas in the set, it's a travesty. Saga is an Old Norse word for criminy's sake.
Magic's story and lore often inspire passionate conversations. Players take emotional journeys with characters, identify with ones they see in themselves, and in many cases even grow up with them. Having returned to web fiction, we wanted to discuss our philosophy around creating and sharing these characters and stories.
Our creative philosophy for telling our stories is, in short:
We will tell the stories we want to tell, featuring the characters and relationships that best serve the story and our audience. Our focus will be crafting engaging and relatable stories. These stories will have diverse casts of characters with varied experiences, challenges, and adventures.
We will not change these stories to accommodate local markets. One of the challenges of being a global community is that some regions prohibit subject matter we think is valuable to our storytelling. Unfortunately, this means that some of our content will not be available in those markets.
While we do not agree with these laws, we are required to follow them. We must also consider the welfare of community members in impacted locations.
This decision empowers us to freely weave stories reflective of our community values. We regret that some of our fans will not have access to this lore, but we will strive to be as consistent as possible across all markets and look forward to when our content can be accessible to everyone.
Tune in next week to meet our next cast of characters as we adventure into Kaldheim and beyond.

It means they likely have lgbtq characters and if it offends the snowflakes at China and Russia they will let them block the story.

Thanks for the answer. I understood it quite differently besides the blocking story. I understood given the nature of kaldheim they will be more rough and raw on the storyline including the lgbtq community.
This is the most welcome signal I have seen so far from the Storyline team in navigating a new (or newly reformed)direction for the lore.
While I acknowledge the costs this policy will have upon MtG players in less liberal or socially democratic countries, I am positively stoked for what this means for the game itself.
I would also not be surprised if many MtG players in these kinds of countries are a force for positive change in their respective countries. I could of course be wrong.
My only nitpick here is that I wish the company acknowledged the corporate decision in retconning and downplaying Chandra and Nissa's relationship, not Weisman's, as they kinda threw him under the bus by not fully acknowledging their role in the controversy and that they had indeed made a mistake.
Overall, I see myself buying more MtG as a result of this decision and believe it to be something to celebrate.

Wow, MtG took a stand of integrity on this since Weisman and Forsaken (ironic name).
I’m impressed. Very good. Perhaps there’s hope yet for Vorthos with the return of web fiction and support of diverse characters. Just need the Theros novel and I’m in.
Before anyone gets on their soapbox, I was critical of PW power levels in general and not Kaya specifically. Exacerbated by the burning of my Vorthos card when the Theros lore was canceled.
