The mischievous beast Otrimi dwells among the giant roots of Ikoria's largest swamp, constantly growing and mutating. For now, it is elusive, but some hunters fear that it will one day rise as the most fearsome monster on all Ikoria.
Very little is known about Otrimi, a mysterious, mischievous creature that lives among the giant overgrown roots of Zagoth’s swamps. Some claim it’s a younger member of the same species as the nightmare beast Brokkos and fear that it will one day grow large enough to challenge Brokkos’s position as the apex monster of Zagoth.
Lurking among the peat bogs of Indatha, Zaxara is a many-headed nightmare hydra that oozes toxins from every pore. Its vivid coloration serves as a warning to any creature that might want to take a bite out of it. Only other hydras seem immune to its toxins, sometimes coating themselves in puddles of Zaxara’s leftover poison to make themselves even more dangerous.
In addition to their magical bond, Cazur and Ukkima share and unwavering belief in the survival of the fittest. They constantly challenge each other to grow stronger. By combining Cazur’s understanding of combat tactics with Ukkima’s predatory cunning, they’re able to take down enemies neither would be able to handle alone.
Kalamax is a creature of pure, destructive chaos, whose presence alone moves mountains and reshapes the horizon. It exudes raw elemental energy, power any mage would covet-if they could get close enough to harness it.
Few creatures are as catastrophically destructive as Kalamax, an elemental dinosaur capable of unleashing torrents of earth-shattering lightning. It wanders as it pleases, throwing out enough chaotic energy to powe a city- or demolish one. It’s capable of leveling mountains, whole horizn lines are changed in the wake of its passage.
Xyris is a giant flying leviathan with a particular taste for humans, regulary raiding the nomadic airship city of Skysail for snacks. Skysail’s soldiers work constantly on new ways to fight back, but no tactic works for long. Xyris will not be denied and invariably finds a way to overcome each new barrier between it and its next meal.
The carefree bonder, Haldan and his canine monster friend, Pako, travel all across Ikoria, searching out crystals with unusual properties. Pako is able to sniff out strange and powerful crystals for Haldan to study and experiment with, and Haldan maks sue he always has a special treat on hand for his devoted friend.
Kathril is a cunning insectile nightmare with powerful shapeshifting abilities. it excels at strategically mimicking other creatures, and delights in luring would-be predators to their deaths.
Kathril is an insect nightmare that lurks in the peaty marches of Indatha. It uses the shifting tendrils on its body to mimic other creatures and deceive would-be predators. Many a monster hunter, seeing only a big bug, has ventured after what the thought was easy prey – a mistake they’ve rarely lived to learn from.
Tayam is a strange, reclusive creature with a mysterious connection to Ikoria’s crystals. No one has been able to document the exact nature of the connection, which is unusual even among monsters. Some speculate that Tayam can control the crystals effects on other creatures in some way, and scholars are desperate to witness this power in action.
Nikara and Yannik are both outsiders and loners, misunderstood by their home communities. They are bounded only to each other, and they rely on their companionship to help them survive Ikoria’s harsh, monster-riddled wildernesses. From their point of view, there are few you can trust to have your back – but the ones you can, you do without hesitation.
The outlander Gavi spends her days in the wilds, passing on her knowledge to her adopted brood of monsters. Those who mistake her calm demeanor for weakness tend to realize their error as they are devoured by cat-dinosaurs.
Adopted as the surrogate mother to an orphaned litter of baby dinosaurs, Gavi has a connection to the creatures of the world few could ever imagine. Though she’s not a bonder, she demands the respect-and often fierce devotion-of even the most ferocious dinosaurs that roam Raugrin’s crags.
Orphaned as a hatchling, the reptilian Akim was adopted by a flock of birds and embraced as a member of the family. Now that it’s fully grown, it has proudly taken on the role of flock leader and is determined to protect its tribe. Under Akim’s lead, the flock has grown more aggressive than ever before, proactively assaulting any perceived threats.
A fierce love of adventure and a taste for excitement are the foundation of the bond between Brallin and Shabraz. Their combined knowledge of the air currents and weather patterns around Raugrin is unmatched. Shabraz can most often be spotted soaring around the tall volcanic peaks, with Brallin ridind exuberantly on its back.
As captain of her sanctuary's military, Jirina dedicates her life to defending the civilians in her care at all costs. Amid constant monster attacks, she and her troops rely on discipline and precise tactics to keep the danger at bay.
The daughter of the former General Kudro, Jirina is a Drannith military commander who tempers duty with compassion, taking less ruthless, less antagonistic approach toward monsters then her father. She carries on her father's legacy of defending the city, even as she seeks to create more humane policies for dealing with bonders and monsters.
Kelsien was raised on the tales of the lost sanctuary of Orn and its brutal destruction by monsters. Now an adult, he has one goal in mind: wipe out all monsters as payback for the downfall of that ancient city. He conceals his true face behind a terrifying mask as he takes down every creature he comes across with cold, ruthless efficiency.
As a former member of the Drannith military, Trynn watched as Lukka was cast out of the city for violating its laws, and she vowed not to let the same thing happen to her. She keeps her identity as a bonder-and her bonded companion, Silvar-secret, working from within the city to change the people’s beliefs about the monsters outside.
Thanks for this, I'll put the info in the wiki! Some years ago, Wizards used to put these info on their site, but the time for updating the lore section of the mothership is apparently long gone now...

You're welcome
Sadly yes, I also miss those times, last year the info from the insert was found on the amazon preorder page, instead of the mothership.

They have the main bios commanders on the story on cards just with Viviens personal flare, thought its a shame they didn't put the sub-commanders.
I'm loving the partner commander so much honesty, wish there was a pair I wanted to build around.

"You can tell how dumb someone is by how they use Mary Sue"
I still don’t see Ruthless Regiment lore characters
They upload it today, will edit it in a few minutes.
Updated it with the last deck, Trynn and Silvar sound a bit different, then what we heard before, I am also sad, that we didn't get the part about the Shark Typhoon on Kalamax description. The video with Emily Teng made it sound like they have far more lore for each of those commanders, then the insert gives as.
Huh with the tone of this I wonder if a lot of Ikiora is also showing the post-story world.

No duh, I was noting that often the set story will end at the final, this time we are seeing the fall out of the storys conflict.
