Still, going out to mention "possible illegal actions" of the leaker leaves a bad taste in my mouth - they mentioned the store gave them the book early, and tbh I don't see no shred of evidence to suggest otherwise.
And considering Wizards' track record over the recent years, I wouldn't be surprised if they gave the shop a wrong date to distribute the books - if they can send an upside down, backwards bound dnd book, who knows what else they can **** up
I don’t really get this policy given how leaked cards are treated, but okay.
I kind of get it. I mean, with regards to card spoilers, yes you want to know what's going on in the story, but knowing that doesn't (generally) stop you from buying the cards, which you need to do to play with them. The story of a card game is secondary to the game itself.
Literally the purpose of a book is to convey the story. If the story gets leaked, well now you have less reason to actually go out and purchase the book.
Leaks don't financially hurt a card game in the same way that they might hurt a book.
Eh, I don't really agree with that. If you're going to buy or not buy the book based on knowing some information ahead of time that seems kind of... weird. It's not like the posts was the entire story, just snapshots. Wikipedia and other sites exist that tell summaries of stories (basically this) but it doesn't stop books from being sold that are already out.
And the point is more that if talking about the book someone read (and seemingly got legally) is illegal then talking about cards which someone definitely opened ahead of time illegally and discussing them should be an issue too.

Me too, I can't see how he could have done anything illegal, if he legitimately bought the book.

Oh certainly. I wasn't saying that I necessarily agreed with the Mod's reaction, just that I could understand why they would view the two things differently.
For what it's worth, as someone who wasn't going to buy the book anyway (cause 1. disposable income? What's that? and 2. I live in the middle of nowhere Iowa and would probably need to drive an hour to even find a store that carried it) I'm sad that I missed the spoilers/leaked info.
I'm SO sad I missed it all... Everything. Is it illegal to talk about something you read? Or is it because they think it was leaked by a reviewer who signed a non-disclosure agreement?

I mean you can probably just get it on an Online Bookstore like Amazon.
My position more I think the story is going to be paint by the numbers predictable and I rather not spend my money.
Ugh I missed the leak? I am so sad. Is it legal for me to ask someone to PM the information?
I've seen it posted on other sites too. You can probably find it on Reddit, assuming the mods haven't gotten to it there too. Or you could try 4chan, the janitors don't give a damn there.
Oh my, I MAY have found the leaks... But if it's all true, it's all ridiculous.
Seemed pretty sensible to me.
Then maybe I found the wrong leaks... The transfer of that skill to that other character seems strange. Was it even possible to exchange THOSE 2 PECULIAR conditions?
If the eternals work like this, it's strange all these planeswalkers are still "sparkful"...
How did THOSE 2 manage to go THERE if only one of them had a spark? How does even the elder spell works? And if it was SO easy for the eternals to do that, it seems extremely idiotic to not protect yourself in ANY WAY... even a mistakenly falling eternal, an eternal ejected in an explosion or one launched by an enemy could have been the end of the whole plan.
Mind you, I'm not against this all... I just find difficult to wrap my mind around these specific things...

The things in your spoiler tage are the only things left I want to know (since I did see the leaks)
It really is just those 2 things that dont make much sense. The eternal touch and suck seems a little crazy too

Been a member here for over a dozen years. Playing since '95 just got lost in the twitch shuffle.
Illegal actions lol for what? Man bought a product in a legal way, a product that he LEGALLY OWNS right now and can do whatever he wants with it. There is no binding contract anywhere telling anyone that they can't share the plot of the book that they legally own to anyone.

Yeah, I exaggerated a bit probably, but the other things from the leaks did not seem surprising at all and I gave most of them for sure (from a storytelling point of view)... Apart from the Lazav shenanigan. All things considered, the story does not appease me particularly.
We are aware of the novel leak and we are actively deleting posts. We have contacted Wizards of the Coast about these posts as they represent inappropriate and possibly illegal actions by the original poster. Discussion of leaked material from the novel will be deleted and the users infracted.
Thank you.

Lapsed DCI Rules Advisor - Retired from playing but still hanging around
That one things that happens between 2 major characters makes no sense, although I suppose we haven't seen anything that would specifically make it impossible.
That one characteristic of the Eternals also leaves me scratching my head as to why Bolas would make it so.
But I will give them this - I wouldn't have expected this resolution of the conflict.
Rehashing something I said in another forum but I figured Domri would die for a few reasons;
1) We have an abundance of RG walker characters already, with Arlinn going mono-green for this set (and from the looks of it Sarkahn is mono-red) just so all of them could fit in.
2) We have a bunch of beast mage like walkers who can take his design space such as Arlinn, Sarkhan and Huatli.
3) Related sum to 2, flavor-wise much of his trope space has been taken since we have Aminatou, Samut and Teyo (and maybe Huatli?) as non-adults walkers which was much of what made Domri special at the time.
4) He was defiantly not the most popular of the walkers.
5) From a story standpoint Domri was a dumb reckless teen who got played by Bolas, out of the group of walkers for the war he was probity the easy choice from a story point to see getting killed.
That said, reason 5 I feel a little bad for Domri. He wasn't evil or wanting power, he was punk that played right into Bolas claws.

“There are no weak Jews. I am descended from those who wrestle angels and kill giants. We were chosen by God. You were chosen by a pathetic little man who can't seem to grow a full mustache"
"You can tell how dumb someone is by how they use Mary Sue"
The only surprising thing about Domri dying to me is him being what 18 at most? But I guess that is old enough lol. He is not Aminatou who is broken and way too young for WOTC to put in combat.
But I do agree he is easy in the sense we have a lot of Walkers in the NAYA (RG and GW) range who like to summon something be they Boars, Wolves, Cats, Dinosaurs. Samut is the most different followed by Ajani. And Ajani has the advantage of getting in first.

Did he get played by Bolas though? I got the sense that Bolas didn't even know he existed before what happened actually happened.

Did you really receive a book bound backwards?!
Not me - saw it on youtube.

DAMN. Domri caught a bad one.
I know he wasn't the most popular PW, but did he really have to go out like that?
R.I.P. Domri.
Click the pic for more info.
And said by MaRo, spark-stealing(by the eternals) kills.

EDIT:
Loving what happened to Domri myself, especially the details around it. Feels believable (unlike what supposedly happens with the Golgari).
