Wouldn't be easier to create internal chaos on Ravnica instead of invading it with an army of super zombies. Bolas already did sutch a thing in Alara and Ravnica seems to be an easier way to create chaos since the guilds are constant odds at each other. Maybe he's planing to do that and The Eternal Army is the clean up crew. Im kinda hyped to see The Scarab god with the Eternal Army atatcking Ravnica while the guilds fight the enemy together.
Depends on the timeline that Bolas' plans work on and what Bolas' long term plans actually are.
If there is something on Ravnica he wants then the direct approach may be the best.
I'm not entirely sure he meant that he wanted Niv to fight Bolas. Niv may be the third most intelligent being in the Multiverse. If anyone could concoct a plan against Bolas' invasion that isn't Ugin its Niv. It's a convenient bonus that He's also probably properly Elder dragon status(at least if the Tarkir Dragonlords are) and a known powerful mage. If anyone is going to go mano-a-dragano with Bolas it'd probably be Rakdos.
There are also the Nephilim..which if the books aren't giving us "wrong" information are straight up immortal
I know this has nothing to do with the actual story, but I find it extremely hilarious (and flavorful) that the Pro Tour for Rivals of Ixalan (it was Modern) ended with a Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas ultimate, which is extremely in line with last week's story. I don't think we can get any more flavorful than that, especially with the likes of Modern (being nonrotating and all...)

How about 2 Angrath getting opened in the feature draft on day 1?

The fifth installment is called "Who Tells The Stories", and the blurb says "The Immortal Sun is gone and Huatli realizes that the truth does not belong to whoever happens to be in charge." Key art is Zacama.
This story (and probably the next one too) is basically just tying up loose ends.
the story is indeed weaker than the ones before it, but in reality, the strength of all of those previous stories was the developing relationship between Jace and Vraska. take that element away, and the stories were at about the same level as this one.
I do like Angarth cursing everybody out and planeswalking away as soon as he could. he is a very entertaining character
the dusk legion setup seems intriguing, and something that I can see fully explored if they were to ever return to Ixalan. a Vampire civil war would be fascinating.
and I do like how Huatl's character arc was resolved. the fact that she is planeswalking away with unfinished business at home seems a bit odd...but also kind of familiar (*couch* Jace *cough*).
but as it stands, principal players are being taken off the board so they can finally answer the question of who will control the city. And Jace is still unaccounted for. we don't know if he already left for Dominaria, or if he is still on Ixalan for some unforetold reason.
this story isn't spectacular to em, but it's servicable.
Thanks for letting me know not to read it. They managed to make Huatli incredibly uninteresting. And after Arlinn Kord, Saheeli Rai, etc. I've learned to not have any interest in the 'native' walkers. Dovin Baan is the only one I can remember that we've actually seen off-world in story, aside from their first walks. I could very well be wrong, though I stand by my initial assertion that native walkers are among the most boring characters in the stories.
This was nice. I disliked Huatli a lot at first but clearly she changed as a person after what happened, discerning stories from truth through seeing Elanda's true past being butchered and also learning from Angrath's words.
It is odd how we didn't get a huge battle for the city. I mean, this makes sense considering the story we got, but I feel like we should have seen more of what was actually depicted on the cards? Maybe that happens later now that every faction knows the location of the city and can return with bigger groups?

Yeah that was a ho-hum story. It got the job done, and there was a brief moment where I was scared when Elenda showed up, but she proved generic, and curiously off-colour. Where's the black alignment in her? Also, all the buildup for the Elder Dinosaurs, and they just amount to "Huatli rides Zacama home so she can show off, and then tells it to leave once she arrives"? Kinda disappointing :/
Wow. They really treated seemingly important legendaries like trash. Zacama reduced to a freaking Uber. Huatli is still boring as dirt, even riding a gargantuan three headed dinosaur.
for those wondering where the big battle for the city is, don't forget there's one more story to be told before we shift focus to Dominaria. it'll probably happen next week.
-Love just how done Angrath is with everything. What a great comedic character and I hope we see him again. Glad he finally cn be reunited with his daughters and drink the blood of his enemies with them.
-I think Jace is still there during the first part. Malcolm seemed to have gotten a message from him acting a bit odd when Breeches and him were escaping.
-Idk what think bout how bad Azor smelled if his musk got into the whole city.
-I was right that Orzaca had power in it that would be worth taking even if the Sun if now off plane.
-Zacama is comfired female, so far the only elder dinosaur to have this comfirmed?
-I really liked the wrap up with Huatli and her family and really really hope she meets Tamiyo and love they "stole" the helm with her. But I rather the story ending with Huatli lying to the emperor and telling the truth of the race to the city and then walking away but they need the Sun Empire trying to get the city I guess. Disappointed as well she and Angrath didn't leave together like the player guilds said BUT it felt more in character for Angrath just to peace out asap.
Overall I think the story was okay, what I'm most disappointed is what the cards and flavor had built up. There really does feel like a disconnect from the planning to the card to the story.
the story is indeed weaker than the ones before it, but in reality, the strength of all of those previous stories was the developing relationship between Jace and Vraska. take that element away, and the stories were at about the same level as this one.
My thoughts as well. Jace and Vraska where the highlights of this storyline so without them everything else will feel a little less good.

I think she has blacks "do anything pay any cost". I don't see a mono-white character who'd fully embrace the darkness like Elenda did. White characters have "morals". Oh and she's the vampire tribal themed commander for the block so mechanic wise she needed to have black.

EDIT: Did it really need to be split from part 6? It wasn't even that long.
It was due to the stories being too long being translated. Thats why I'm guessing they also said it was only going to be in 5 parts in the first, since in english it all fits.

So I was on the voting page, scrolling down to find where I cached my vote at and because of the ridiculous way it's laid out as I was scrolling(on my phone) I dragged on the vampire part and it took that as my vote. Well done, Wizards. Well done.
I was fine as this story being a short wrap-up but Zacama being reduced to transport is really disheartening. That little section where Huatli went back to the city on Zacama could have been removed and nothing of importance would have been lost. That part felt shoehorned in as a throwaway paragraph.

Angrath's exit from a plane was almost as entertaining as the Gatewatch defeat cycle. Cartman alter incoming. Huatli changing from red to green storywise seems like before she'd have been more emotionally confrontational with the Emperor, like the dialogue with Angrath, but now is more content with "oh well, I tried, deuces."

Yep thus we were right the first time and they are liars
This is just another "pure mirridon" vs "new phyrexia" scenario.
Which basicly means they chose the winner before the fans even voted.
They could be lying, yes. Or they just report things very badly.
Not yet online, though (Access Denied ATM)

The artbook made it way more epic by implying a battyle of armies for control but nope...
