The issue green has in general is that its a combo orientated color. Ramp + Big creatures. It's an explosive color, so there is very little interaction with your opponent.
With the next coming of Dominaria I'm hoping for a few elves that might be fun, or even competitive:
Fleetfoot Elf
Creature- Elf
G
Flash
When Fleetfoot Elf enters the battlefield, return another elf you control to its owner's hand. If you can't, sacrifice Fleetfoot Elf.
1/1
Elf of the Horizon
Creature- Elf
GG
When EotH enters the battlefield, reveal the top card of your library. If it is an elf, put it onto the battlefield. Otherwise, put that card on top of your library, or into your graveyard.
2/2
Dwynen's Visionary
Creature- Legendary Elf
1GG
Whenever a non-token elf enters the battlefield under your control, put a +1/+1 counter on Dwynen's Visionary.
Remove a +1/+1 counter from Dwynen's Visionary, create a 1/1 green elf token.
Sacrifice an elf: Draw a card
2/2
I realize they already have made the set, just haven't released it, but one can dream.

Liliana didn't betray the Gatewatch. She tried to convince them not to be idiots and get their ***es kicked. They didn't listen to her and got their ***es kicked. In that light, some of them may be inclined to listen to her. At the moment, it looks like Gideon might.
There will be some tension I think but it is pretty obvious after Eldritch Moon and Kaladesh that Lilliana is useful despite her dark nature. As a W/B/G person I think it makes sense to screw Bolas's plans for her by helping Lilliana get outta her contract.
Yes she might betray them again but in that case you do as *SPOILER* Thor in Ragnorak and anticipate having to counter the move.

Yea but however bolas offer hear to teach her use the chain veil without dieing and the raven man told her to listen to bolas
And bolas told her to planeswalk and meet him on another's plane for the lesson

That implied she joined bolas.
And if she had refused? He would have done to her what he did to the rest of them. Seriously. It wasn't a betrayal. Very obviously. As was said above, she did what she had to to survive after begging the others to do the same. Sure Bolas told her to wait for him somewhere but since when have any of us trusted Lili to just do what she's told?
And nobody is talking about liliana betraying the gatewatch on amonkhet because?
What are they doing to her because of that incident?
Because people for some reason are willing to forget she is a Villain who is using the Gatewatch for her own ends and has always planned on betraying them when it suited her from the start.

We also don't have selective memories about her actions when they finally encountered Bolas. She did betray them, but she tried to appeal to them to stop being suicidal idiots first.

I'm not even counting that to be honest, wasn't her first major moment in the flavor Assaulting Tharaben with an army of Zombies and unleashing the demons that Avacyn sealed in the Helevault on Innistrad?

IIRC, Thraben was assaulted by Gisa and Geralf, not Liliana.
Liliana actually did assault Thalia's crew to force her to blow up the Helvault so she could murder Griselbrand.
I absolutely agree that Liliana is a villainous psychopath, and has been from the very beginning, but she's been effectively playing the other Gatewatchers for chumps ever since she joined. And what happened on Amonkhet wasn't really anything that would change their preexisting relationship to her. They all got beat down by Bolas. I don't think anybody -- even Gideon -- is likely to think that they could have won if only she'd helped out.
Except for Jace..who Post Ixalan realizes that Lili is a bad bad influence.
Oh irony if the one person who vouched for her joining the Gatewatch switches to being the main one who wants her out of it. And the biggest naysayer (Gideon) somehow comes around to supporting her.
I don't think Jace will completely jump ship to wanting her gone but he's not going to be her whipping boy or pining for her anymore.
only because they won't have consequences for Liliana being an evil character because they can't make up a new mono-black Walker.
As much as I want Drana to have a spark and hop on the bandwagon, that's probably never gonna happen.
On a more serious note, this woman is getting her body damaged by a piece of flimsy headgear every time she uses it and has a voice in her head frequently insisting that she acts like a proper villainess and focus on killing her demon debtors. Something tells me that if/when she kills Belzenlok, her problems would only escalate further.
It isn't even that I want Drana or Yaheenei in the gatewatch and all, I just really feel that Liliana was the worst possible choice for the group and that a fully new Mono Black Planeswalker would have been far better.
Like, if they made Kaya from the second conspiracy mono black, and focused her around, being an assassin type, give her -1/-1 counter effects, make her sorta like Gideon except smaller and unblockable. Keep Lili in Origins so this new gal is a surprise, then on Kaladesh you have Chandra and Nissa meet her in the Deadlock Trap Prison, hired by Dovin to take out the the leaders of the rebellion. She failed..got stuck in the prison..the Gate Watch escapes, helps her..and she doesn't like being in debt so she stays with them through the end of the block..and she ends up joining because the Gate Watch end up being her friends.
On Amonkhet she Nopes out when Nicol shows up making it look like she ran out like a coward, then is the one that saves Chandra and Nissa so the trio can show up at the end of Dominaria.
New black PW? Are people forgetting Sorin Markov? I REALLY miss Sorin, so much more interesting of a character
The problem with that is:
a.) Sorin isn't the Gatewatch type either.
b.) He decided that Orzhov (the color combination) is where it's at.
c.) It's hard to forget him when he's practically a meme due to his current situation.
Vraska is the first black planeswalker we've encountered so far in the main story that would actually fit the Gatewatch.

Vraska isn't mono though..though she might get Mono from Jace.
However if Chandra tells jace what she did while they were fighting bolas then he probably will
(Excluding the telling them to retreat part she betrayed them which is not to surprising.)
No Jace is more level headed than that. He will hear every side of the story, in fact he will get it more objectively by checking actual memories rather than just relying on what is said. Not to mention that he is going to run into Gideon first who will probably tell him what happened. If I recall Gideon wasn't nearly as upset at her as Chandra was because he had been Bolas' tennis ball for most of the fight and probably understood that Lili was right.
