So, on a whim, I decided to look up The Underworld Cookbook on our wiki.
...so, where on earth did we get the information on Asmoranomardicadaistinaculdacar? There is no citation anywhere, and I must know how we found out about the Lord of the Pit named Vincent.

It doesn't answer how we know about Vincent, which is primarily what I'm curious about. I've looked at all the cards featuring her flavor text, but I can't for the life of me figure out how we know anything about her.

There was a short story in the anthology Distant Planes called "Chef's Surprise," in which the events from the wiki article transpire.
It was written by Sonia Orin Lyris and was the third story in the anthology.
Many thanks.
On an unrelated note, since I again find myself sleep-deprived and wondering odd things--but don't think the question is worthy of its own thread--here's a puzzler: Does Karn have a tongue? He is capable of speech, which could mean yes, but is hardly conclusive. I can't remember if he's ever described as tasting anything, and I don't have access to my copies of the Weatherlight Saga books. Things would, of course, become even more complicated after he ascended as a planeswalker, since--for a while there--he had complete control over the nature of his form.

So, tongue or no tongue?
No tongue. His mouth was a hatch rather than something from where vocalizations came from. At his mouth, it would hinge backwards to allow people to get at the heartstone that made up his mind.

Asmoranomardicadaistinaculdacar is her name.
And the Underworld Cookbook was a collection of recipes from her time enslaved to the pit lord Vincent.
Asmoranomardicadaistinaculdacar was a human wizard who summoned a Lord of the Pit during a duel, but the things she was going to feed to him (sacrifice)... flew away. So, Vincent was going to eat Asmoranomardicadaistinaculdacar instead. She offered him a deal that she would become his cook and feed him a new dish every single meal so long as he didn't eat her. Vincent agreed, but only on the condition that if he ever became bored with her dishes, he'd have her for the next meal. She managed to wow him with every last dish and near the end of her service he became wistful and offered her a full job cooking for him, no threat of death or anything. She just wanted the hell out of... well, hell. So Vincent asked her to scribe together all her recipes for when she left. She agreed, but only if she could make copies to sell in the overworld. About 20 copies were made... of which, only 2 sold (one to vincent and one to her mother.)
So disgusted with that, she told her imps to incinerate the rest of them, but they got lazy on their way to the furnace and just tossed them into the overworld... where they were found.
People started trying to put together her recipes and they ended up being just THE it thing in the high courts. Which meant a loooooooooot of things like ogres and goblins were hunted as food. Which meant they had a huge grudge against Asmoranomardicadaistinaculdacar and tried to track her down to kill her as soon as she got free.
She decided to write a sequel to get the monsters off her back with things like "1,001 ways to prepare elf" and the like.

What about this one? Everyone forgets that one.
