Emmara is Jace's old friend, she's an elf healer in Ravnica, at least she was in Agents of Artifice. Also I think the guy with the red eyes is Sarkhan and he was saying that Sarkhan Vol is Bolas's minion.
doesn't mention anything about Innistrad, it mentions Tavelia, Which is a plane we know NOTHING about.
It's entirely possible since we still know very very little about Innistrad, and apparently (although i dont know where) Innistrad is "confirmed" to be on Innistrad. I'll admit usually the introduction of planes, always start with the name of the plane. However i still slightly disagree that the name of the plane is Innistrad. But that's my opinion.
It is entirely possible the plane that Kothoped was on was Innistrad however. So i could be wrong.

Ravarshi Kashaku, Ancient Dragon of the Darkened Realms;
The Merciless Lord of Torture, Permanently Bound To: ">[THE PACK] 11/5/63 - 11/25/09 Goodbye mom, i'll always love you...
I have a feeling there will be a scuff between nicol bolas and vess. I think she might be screwing bolas out of a powerful artifact. The veil might be a really powerful equipment in the upcoming set.
Another thing, with the exception of vess vs garuuk, every duel deck of planeswalkers were reprinted in the next block. I bet that bolas will get a reprint.
It's odd we haven't had a block based on obtaining a super-weapon in a long time. Tempest, Weatherlight and Masques had a sub-theme of "getting all the legacy pieces" and Oddssey/Onslaught were very focused on the Mirari...there was a sub-story about Kaldra in Mirrodin and the name of the world changing artifact in Kamigawa was literally "That Which Was Taken"...
So yeah...we haven't seen one of those plots since Kamigawa. Should be fun. Always funny that the artifact in question is always too conditional or overcosted to be constructed playable...but it makes sense that they'd spend extra time playtesting and making sure the big scary (story-wise) card of the set would be balanced.
Back in the long ago, Vess and Garruk were going to get a book (Curse of the chained veil). This book was cancled for unknown reasons. Since they do webcomics to tie into the books, you can bet that these two comics were probaly made for the book.
Could the canceled book's plot be recycled into Innistrad's plot... perhaps... perhaps not. But this comic really doesn't say anything. Vess shows up on a plane, kills everyone, and leaves. If this truly is Innistrad then there isn't any story here.
There really isn't anything linking the two ideas together expect for the idea of Vess on a throne. But neither the throne, nor the killed person match so it could be any other plane.
I mean look at the picture of Vess spoiled in the announcing arcana, then look at the coimic throneroom.
No, the plane is Innistrad. The first set in a block is always named after the plane (with the only break in tradition being the return to Dominaria). There is no logical reason they'd change this policy.
but I think INN will be pretty cool since it GY based. I really never follow the mtg story anyway. maybe I should
Ah bro, why? Now I'm hungry and at work with no wallet...
Liliana Vess has always been my favourite and if she becomes the new super-villian then I'm inlove with magic storyline which I never was, not even in Odyssey.
The web-comics suck though, but then again, I never liked comics.
At first, I thought these were the same, but comparing them, they don't seem to be. All it really tells us is that Lili likes thrones and killing dudes.
Seems like the castle Vess is attacking is on a plane called Tavelia, not Innistrad.
Jace was lying; she's not on Tavelia. When it switches to Liliana it says "somewhere far from Tavelia." Based on the similarities in the comic and in the Innistrad teaser artwork, it's probably Innistrad.

When it says "somewhere far from Tavelia" in Part III is when she's visiting Kothophed, on a different plane than the one with the tall throne. Jace may or may not have been lying, but we have no way of knowing, since we don't know if the plane from Part II is Tavelia or not.

I considered that, but I think the implication must have been that he was lying or they wouldn't have bothered to point out that she is not in fact on Tavelia (which suggests that she hasn't been there any time lately). It also kind of hinges on how up-to-date Jace even is on her location and how the parallel narratives match up time-wise.
I took it to just mean she's not there right now. So if Garruk went to Tavelia to find her she wouldn't be there, even if Jace's information used to be accurate.
I s'pose I was applying abductive reasoning for my conclusion. After all, if the throne-room-plane really was Tavelia or some other non-Innistrad location, then having her spend time there in the comics accomplishes very little for the narrative (it's mostly a place to show how badass she is with the veil until she segues into killing Korthoped elsewhere). If it is Innistrad, then it was foreshadowing to the block we're about to have. And that's just better writing, so it makes more sense. Especially since she expresses interest in making that plane her new haunt, and such.
Could go either way. There's no absolutely confirming whether it's Tavelia, Innistrad, or some other plane, only what we can infer. Given the context, I would be inclined to agree that it being Innistrad is likely, meaning Jace is still lying (or she really was on Tavelia at some point, and had since moved on to Innistrad).
I agree that it is not 100% confirmed, but the evidence makes it the most likely hypothesis.
Consider:
* "Throne-room plane" is where we've observed Liliana establish a base of operation
* One of the first things we knew about Innistrad was that it was associated with Liliana
* Jace is a blue mage and has multiple motivations for lying to Garruk, as well as the means, as a blue mage, to potentially be aware that he's lying
* There seems to be some similarities in the artworks of "Throne-room plane" and Innistrad. Though they don't match up exactly, artistic license exists. The compositional elements of the latter piece seem evocative of the former (throne, dead guy, etc).
* Fiction plays with probability in order to have a smooth, purposeful narrative
* The cues in the comic inform us that Jace's information was at least currently inaccurate. This information was not necessary to include.
So, it could be that Liliana became associated with Innistrad off stage and we enter into that story midway at the start of the block. But it seems like a needless jump; Liliana already found and conquered "Throne-room plane" and found it suitable to her purposes. She would have to bother to do it all over again for Innistrad if it was a different place. If that's the case it would certainly be because of whatever premise that makes Innistrad relevant. But it's just easier to have her there from the start.
... There's very very few visual similarities. Take a look at the members of the castle guard. They are dressed like your classic medieval serfs, not as the colonial jacket and tri corner hat age that we've seen of Innistrad so far.
Next up is the fact they specifically show Liliana planeswalk away from the plane. To, we presume, somewhere far away from Tavelia.
Yet another thing to consider is that Liliana's rampage took very very low priority when she started BLEEDING UNCONTROLLABLY. So, her interest in conquering planes comes second to freeing herself of whatever horrible thing is happening to her, which Innistrad may have something to do with, but Tavelia (because really, throne room plane is a mouthful) served its purpose by showing how awesome she was with the veil. That was pretty much the point of that.
And lastly, you honestly may be giving Wizards way too much credit in setting stuff up in comics. We had Garruk and the Turntimber waaaay back... but honestly, that's an isolated incident.
Well, the priority must not be that low considering she's on a throne yet again with more dead guys. The whole bleeding uncontrollably thing would mean going through the trouble again would be risky, whereas the plane she already conquered is safe and already under her control. And we don't really know if she still has the problem that she did since the raven man healed her the last time we saw her.
I mean, sure it could be a red herring. But those usually work better when you have a substantive storyline where a lot of the narrative elements do have significance. And it's also easier to plan things ahead of time rather than invent something new out of context. So I dunno how much credit that really is.

Just because she took over one kingdom doesn't mean she's conquered the entire plane. Aside from that, just because she's killed ONE person on Innistrad doesn't mean she's taken over that kingdom either.
Besides that, there're two more planes I can immediately think of that would have more significance than Tavelia to her. Her home plane and the plane the Onnake are from, neither of which are named, and both of which share more visual similarities with Innistrad than Tavelia does.

The veil has no name as far as we know.
