Truthfully, I don't know if there is much more to say on the subject.
She's indestructible, so of course the damage wouldn't kill her.
What looks like a death blow for other angels is something she can just shrug off.

I think it really boils down to that.
Yes, that is true, but that basically reduces the whole plot off INN and DKA to one epic case of gullibility.
The only reason darkness threatened to overwhelm humanity was because Avacyn was in Helvault. Apparently it's not that difficult to destroy Helvault. The only reason it hadn't been destroyed earlier was because Thalia was guarding it. Which was only at behest of Mikaeus. Which was only because he didn't want anyone see Avacyn die. Which was only a concern because she was impaled by Griselbrand.
Everything boils down to the belief that Avacyn was not indestructible. For if she were, Mikaeus could have released her from Helvault.
Yes, that would have released all the demons... but that's exactly what's happened anyway and overall everyone seems much better off.
Either the Helvault is an extradimensional space and Avacyn healed in it, or the Helvault stores whatever is within it in some non-physical form, and thus her wounds were repaired when her physical form was restored.

yyyyyyep. Already been said.
As to Mikaeus, you really have to think about the fact that her being indestructible is an informed ability. It's not like she goes around advertising the fact... or more appropriately, that anyone would believe it anything more than boasting. She surely hadn't had any reason to show her followers solid proof that she could not be hurt.

Sorry, didn't have the patience to go through the 3 pages of posts looking for a pokéball reference.
It makes sense that even the Lunarch didn't know exactly how Avacyn's indesctructibility worked. If I (with "me" in this context being a native from Innistrad) had seen Avacyn being skewered by Griselbrand's spear, i'd have feared for her life as well.

Actually, Avacyn's Pre-Helevault quest to collect demons would have made a great ongoing comic/manga or anime/Saturday morning cartoon.
think about it: each episode she goes about fighting and putting away a different demon. It would be kinda like "Blade of The Immortal" or "The 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo." (Ravaryn? Ro no!!!)
Just add some cute little girl as comic relief and some effeminate Vampire dude as a cheap foil (you can even have him sparkle like the Twilight Vampires), and then have some shoehorned moral pontificating at the end of each episode (remember, knowing is half the battle. Ah-Va-Cyn!), and you have an instant animated hit.
I think Wizards really missed the boat on this one.
On a more serious note: d'ya think there are any remnants/shards/chunks of the Helevault left? and if so, wouldn't the church of Avacyn want those pieces to use as some kind of holy relics? I'm thinking like Christian and Jewish zealots who visit Israel/Palestine and try to bring home dirt and rocks from the place because they think everything from that area must be a holy relic. ("Oh look! that Isralei guy has an iphone! That must be a HOLY iphone sent from YHWH!"). and would said Helvault chunks still have any power because they are still made of moonsilver?
Or maybe the Helvault is a portal to the dark side of the moon or inside of the moon. And everyone gets their own little stasis cell. And then Nicol Bolas will be there to examine everyone in their little stasis cell. Tamiyo is there to examine the silver moon and the Helvault (or I guess it's pieces now), so maybe it's a portal to Kamigawa's spirit world?
Meh... I think I'll just stick with the theory that the Helvault is a giant pokeball...
I'm thinking there might be a bit to the story than what we've seen so far. Don't discount the spear thing as Mikeaus overreacting just yet. I really hope that isn't the case because it's just very, very lame storytelling.

You've got a rat in your walls, and cheese won't solve anything.
Well, let's face it: A spear of some kind only takes 1 Healing Salve to mostly repair. I'd think that a simple spell like that would be at Avacyn's disposal.
Griselbrand's card art shows that his hammer like right hand is actually a fist in the punching position.
I'm not sure how you managed to come up with and convince yourself of such a detailed fiction based off of what must have been a cursory glance at the art, but that's a pretty neat trick.
It would seem that Gris is able to change the shape of his hands, his hands are discolored and different.
I see two relatively symmetrical sickles. His right arm apparently looks like a hammer to the unfocused eye because it's turned in at an angle towards his body, just like his left arm. And I wouldn't call them discolored; they're black just like the rest of the hard, horny parts of his body, namely his horns.
Until I read in Griselbrand's obituary that he had magical shapeshifting hands, I'm just gonna assume this is spear-throwing business is a contradiction resulting from a miscommunication, which on the whole seems to be an apt summary of the goings on of the storyline department.
You are all now imagining Ajani as Meowth.

Can we get a Fragment of the Helvault for a playable version of Elbrus, The Binding Blade or even a reverse Akroma's Memorial?
Dude... it was THREE pages. Not like it was a huge number.
