She's an archangel, which doesn't mean she's going to be naturally one of the angels that is going straight for diplomacy but more likely to use force. If she is reflective of her "father' she's black and white and wants balance and to protect humans so she'll have to "fix" the other problems.
True, especially one of the rare land cards spoiled in DA points to her being black and white in color.
I'm guessing though Sorin created Avacyn before the mending, so he can't create another one again in his neo-walker condition. He'll have to restore her somehow?

I think I've learned to treat Magic cards like baseball cards: keep 'em in a binder in numerical order, don't play with 'em, try to finish the set and just keep my head down.
So... how soon can we start recruiting for the Sorin x Avacyn movement?
Are you also the one who started Ixidor x Akroma movement?
Anyhow, just so that my post isn't too dry, I'd love to see more interaction between Sorin and his kin. Maybe some flavor texts on what those vampires think of him etc.
And speaking of which, I'd rather pair Sorin with Olivia myself
Jeez, this Helvault preview is really well done. It shows us the inevitable future of Innistrad--Avacyn returns, but at the cost of every single demon they've sealed coming back as well. oh, I cannot WAIT for the Griselbrand card.
We know Avacyn is coming back, so it seems likely that she's not going to blow it up and kill everything inside it.
She'll blow it up, and then everything inside will spill out to leave this block on a darker note rather than the happy ending most were expecting.
So, we get another world at war ending, but one with a pretty good defense instead of the total strawmen that the last couple of blocks have had.
Well, that's problematic. Avacyn is sealed inside the prison of demons. And that's bad. I mean, whatever happens to those critters who are imprisoned in Helvault? And since Avacyn is the only angel in Helvault, how will she fare?
As for Lili, it certainly seems plausible if she ends up blowing up the Helvault. She has paid a visit to the church of Avacyn, and seems like she has made contact with Mikaeus as well as turning him into her zombie slave. So it's possible that she knows what happened to Avacyn considering that Mikaeus was a witness to Avacyn's binding. The question is, if Lili is really the one to blow up Helvault, how will Avacyn return? Lili hates angels, after all, so if she finds out there is one angel among the many many demons, she'll end up blowing up that angel too. Or will it be someone else who blow up the Helvault?
Oh, by the way, Innistrad lore speak of how Avacyn and Helvault appeared on the same night. Does it also mean that Sorin is also the one who made Helvault? Or did he manage to finish creating Avacyn only after Helvault arrived on Innistrad? And if Sorin did create Helvault together with Avacyn, what was his original purpose for it? And if it wasn't Sorin's creation, how did it appear?
Oh, and a very, very, VERY silly question: Does the Helvault has anything to do with Sorin's third friend, the lithomancer? He seems like pretty adept at making prisons (the hedrons was his idea, after all), so could he have also made this stone prison? After all, Sorin didn't make Avacyn the same time he became a planeswalker; he travelled far and wide first then returned to Innistrad and made Avacyn, so during that time surely it is possible for him to have made an acquaintance with the lithomancer?
And PS: This paragraph below cracks me up for some reason.
Avacyn and Griselbrand battled for days, out of view of all but Avacyn's host; the Lunarch, Mikaeus; and his most trusted bishops...
For days? Now I'm imagining Mikey and the bishops sitting near the courtyard with popcorn
I don't think the demons in the vault exist in any physical form. I don't think they'd all fit.
On Sorin and the Helvault. It seems likely that Sorin created the Helvault. I mean oldwalkers can create planes. Taking a bit of the moon isn't really a challenge. Though i don't know. It seems that demons weren't really a problem when he created Avacyn.
I guess maybe Sorin had the forsight to see the demons as a growing threat.

Honestly, I think the Helvault might have been an ingredient in creating Avacyn in the first place.
@Magac: Now I'm just imagining Gris and Avacyn playing Tennis instead of fighting.

I've got no clue, but I've got a hunch that Avacyn and Sorin approach problems in surprisingly similar ways, probably because Sorin instilled her with a bit of his style of thinking:
Sorin: "Those darn Eldrazi won't stay down. That's it. Great idea, lithomancer, let's restrain them with hedrons."
Avacyn: "Those darn demons won't stay down. That's it. Let's restrain them with collars."
So, yeah, I think it is confirmed that Sorin made Avacyn just as a balancing tool to provide the vampires food for generations to come. Still, I wonder how much he knows about the demons, other than Shilgengar, at least, since he's the one who caused his grandpa Edgar to create vampires in the first place.

He must have known enough to create the Helvault ahead of time. Unless the Helvault being a giant prison was not it's original function.*
* Given how hush-hush creative seems to be on the origin of the Vault, it's possible that it was used for somethig else (for example creating Avacyn) and then was later adapted by Avacyn into a prison.

Same here actually. It'd be interesting to find some more good-leaning vampires that are not of the Twipire variety.
We were told a long time ago that the Helvault was a big chunk of moonsilver. It's been visible in the background of Tree of Redemption as well.
Yeah I know but still, the word 'vault'. I guess I'm just being nitpicky. When I hear that word, I usually think big, ancient box full of some goodies and didn't really take the magical hunk of silver moon rock seriously.
Avacyn was stabbed in the heart with Griselbrand's spear. I don't know how tough she is, but that's going to hurt. I have a very strong feeling that this will lead us to something in the future.
I can't help but wonder... We know that Geralf took Mikaeus's heart after he killed to old man. The record from Bishop Alwin also suggested that the heart hasn't been found. Coincidence?
Remember how Karn became a PW again? Just a silly thought.

Quiet child~!, do not let them consider it.
But I don't know, I'm leaning to it being a coincidence. For all we know, Geralf has a thing for human hearts for his Skaab creations.

I work part time as a mountain guide.
Odds are good, so you wouldn't get much payoff for it.
I'm just waiting for Sorin and Lili to cross each other. It's damn near inevitable.
The question is:
Is she going to blow up the Helvault thus killing everything inside? And therefore Sorin will be trying to stop her.
or
Is she going to blow it up releaseing everything inside it? And therefore Sorin will help her?
I'd rather see the first, it would create more tension in the story (That we'll never get to read)
She'll blow it up, and then everything inside will spill out to leave this block on a darker note rather than the happy ending most were expecting.
So, we get another world at war ending, but one with a pretty good defense instead of the total strawmen that the last couple of blocks have had.
Right... we know how it ends. That doesn't mean that Vess isn't planning on blowing it up killing everyone inside.
Sorin could find a way to extract Avacyn before she blows it up, or perhaps he'll extract both Avacyn and the Gris.
As for Lili, it certainly seems plausible if she ends up blowing up the Helvault. She has paid a visit to the church of Avacyn, and seems like she has made contact with Mikaeus as well as turning him into her zombie slave. Avacyn is an aggressive Tennis player too... like one of the Williams sisters.

Nah. I wasn't into M:TG much back then. Besides, I find the idea of Angel-Vampire crossbreeding veeeery interesting.

Meh, I don't find Olivia very pretty. She's got a large forehead. (I'm gonna get killed now aren't I? >_>;;; )
P.S.
I still can't believe that huge chunk of rock is the Helvault. I mean I keep hearing people say they saw the Helvault in the trailer but... honestly.
You call that a vault? o_O
No. We call that a Helvault.
