So while cleaning up my room, I found a few old Topdeck issues which contained some of those short Magic comics by Kev Walker (Namely Masques, Prophecy, and Invasion; I'm sure I still have the Nemesis one somewhere else, but I haven't found that one yet).
I was wondering if there's any interest in these; if there is I could scan and post them.
Thou shalt not have others of the same Legendary before me Thou shalt not frame images with the modern card face Thou shalt not change rules in vain Remember the Reserved List to keep it holy Honor thy Slivers and the symmetry of their abilities Thou shalt not kill mana burn Thou shalt not sacrifice depth for accessibility Thou shalt not steal combat damage from the stack Thou shalt tell a story through thy cards All must be one
Hmm, I've scanned the Prophecy one, but it turns out the scans are too big for attachments or Photobucket, both in file size and resolution.
Would you happen to know any tips for reducing their size so I can host them? Or another solution to get them up?

As you can see, the layout doesn't lend itself to being cut into pieces very well, so I resized the panels in Paint. Some of them (especially page 4) were tricky since shrinking them covered the pic in some kind of checkered pattern. That's why some of them are different sizes. Still, I'm happy with how they turned out. Expect more in the near future...
(Oh, and I think this thread needs a 56k warning added to the title now.)

I believe the people depicted were Tolarians (which of course, are a mix of Dominarians, but were generally shown to be white).
Side question (since I don't recall): How did the Keldon's connect with Jamuraa? I know there was tufa (or something similar), which was supposed to be the blood of their ancestors. How were they originally connected to Jamuraa, and how did they lose it? It always just seemed so . . . incorrect to me as to how Keld could possibly related to Jamuraa.
Of course, WotC may have just felt the need to connect Keld in with everything again since Weatherlight . . .

Where was the Kipamu League supposed to be located, anyway? At first I assumed it was a league of Zhalfir, Femeref, and Suq'ata since Ki'pamu was a city in Zhalfir, but the (excremental) novel didn't mention a single one of them and claimed that Kipamu was the name of a king or something.
Plus you had mentions on the cards of Zerapa, Nakaya, and Vintara, which are apparently on Jamuraa's northeastern subcontinent, which confuses things further...

OMFG! Please post more of these if they exist! Kev Walker is THE man. These are amazing and I thank you dearly for posting these. That art is just...WOW! I've never seen these. I would buy a Magic series of books if the art was always that amazing.
I put this thread in the sticky on the top of the page & the short stories thread. I renamed the thread to put it alongside the other comics posted on this board. I hope you don't mind. (If you do, I'll imeadiatly change the name again ofcourse.)
Um... are you sure that's a good idea? Isn't this thread violating copyright laws?
Those were pretty good any chance we'll get the Nemesis one?
I did have the issue that comic was in, but I can't seem to find it anywhere. I've thrown out a lot of old magazines last year, and I'm afraid there's a chance it may have been among the stuff I threw out. I'll keep looking for it, but no scans of that in the foreseeable future at least.
But on the bright side, there's still an Invasion comic to scan, and that one IMO is the best of the bunch, artwise (thanks to lots and lots of Phyrexian warships).

And now for the last of the bunch (unless I find I still have the Nemesis comic), Invasion.

It would be cool if they could re-tell the Weatherlight Saga in comics form, maybe patching the plot holes (Ramos), cutting out the unnecessary cruft (the Primeval Dragons), fixing the mistakes (the Titans' punk deaths, Death Cloud Yawgmoth), etc. Too bad they don't do that anymore.
These comics are sure good. I'm wondering why MtG won't use this medium more often as a way to advertise the plot or something. It surely would attract players' interest who won't lay their finger on the books.

I'm somewhat like that. In my opinion, the writers for the books aren't that great. With art like Kev Walkers though, the storyline can be bad and poorly written and I would still be inclined to buy trade paperbacks/comic books about Magic. I really wish WotC would think about giving the whole comic book thing another chance. Magic has grown a great deal since the release of the first comic books and so has the comic book industry.
I must say I jjust love the Mark of Yawgmoth on the portal.
Speaking of the portals, how did they get to Dominaria? The sky is littered with them and they're huge; how in the world did Yawgmoth fill the sky with portals?

1) Open up the image in MS Paint.
2) Hit Ctrl + W
3) Set to about 50%, or whatever, depending on the original size of the image.

Karn is also one of my all time favorites. He just walks on, oblivious to anyone trying to stop him. He's great.
