SO... recently my buddy broke MTG it seems. This deck was standard up until Theros, and all he needs to do is replace the Hydras with like mist cutters or something.
Using this combo:
Primordial Hydras
Corpsejack menace
Bioshift
Voeral of the Hull CLade
Master Biomancer
You can have THOUSANDS of +1+1 counters on the board in a VERY short time frame. The biggest issue is that OFFICIAL ruling states that corpsejack's trigger on creatures if counters are "PLACED" on the creature before they even enter the battle field (Master biomancer). and if you have multiple corpse jacks the effect stacks on of top each other.
for example, you had a 1 mana 1/1 creature come into play and you had a master biomancer and 2x corpse jacks in play, lets say the creature comes into play with 5 counters placed on it, corpsejack #1 would double to 10 counters then corpsejack #2 would double to 20, so now you have a 21/21 for 1 mana. Then you bio shifted for 1 mana to another creature, that would take 20 to 40 then 40 to 80 counters on that new creature. Then then bioshift again 80 to 160 and 160 to 320. You just got 320 counters in the field on a creature of your choice for 3 mana. it's broken as hell haha. Then that's not including a counter double from Voeral, which corpse jack's would also trigger from.
Any rulings here to make this all a little less crazy? Now we have yet to counter pick, I haven't played him in a while and all I told him was good luck keeping a creature in play, as I would counter pick creature control.

LOL, I don't think 5 card combos are going to break standard anytime soon. Way too much spot removal being played these days. Fun tines at the kitchen table though
Yeah its called doom blade. It is called Syncopate. Dissolve. Verdict. Cyclonic rift (overloaded). Ultimate price. Hero's Downfall. This isn't a thing. It isn't ridiculous. It is bad and you should see it as such. There is nothing broken about a 5 card combo that takes many turns to set up.

Would Dark Confidant still be good if he punched you in the face for 5 damage a turn?
Oh yeah, My bestow deck is black/white and is HEAVY on creature control for early game, saving for late game bestows.. it would give him some head aches for sure.
I guess it was just kind of a surprise how out of control it can get if you can't deal with them.
I'm pretty sure that whatever rules question may have been asked here has been answered by now. The majority of the discussion in this thread is off topic for the Rulings forum, but since the thread was kind of derailed by the original poster already, I'll refrain from issuing any spam infractions. It's pretty good, but it does require a pretty significant amount of board set up.
Nope. The situation you described is legal, provided that creature initially entered the battlefield with 5 +1/+1 counters on it.
Some comboes deal infinite damage, or make you win the game, with only two cards.
