You'll bring back Erebos, but it won't be a creature. "That creature" refers to "the object you returned from your graveyard this way", but since it won't be a creature, it can't have any creature types, and therefore won't be a Nightmare.
Note that if it later becomes a creature again, it'll be a Nightmare as well as a God, because it's a creature again and the effect that brought it back says that it's a Nightmare "in addition to its other creature types".
205.1b Some effects change an object's card type, supertype, or subtype but specify that the object retains a prior card type, supertype, or subtype. In such cases, all the object's prior card types, supertypes, and subtypes are retained. This rule applies to effects that use the phrase "in addition to its types" or that state that something is "still a [type, supertype, or subtype]." Some effects state that an object becomes an "artifact creature"; these effects also allow the object to retain all of its prior card types and subtypes.
205.3d An object can't gain a subtype that doesn't correspond to one of that object's types.

Edited because apparently, Vampires and Nightmares are identical. Thanks, Lithl!

Can Chainer even bring back Erebos if devotion isn't met? Does devotion work in the graveyard (or is that a "wait til they release the new set rules" issue)? Is the "isn't a creature" part of devotion the same as "loses the creature type"? If "isn't a creature" just means it can't attack tap etc, that means it still has the creature type, so it could be a nightmare god even though devotion isn't met. I see 205.1b referenced, but that mentions that the effect specifies that the card retain some types, and I don't see devotion specifying that.

The check for devotion is only done on the battlefield. Everywhere else it will always have all of its types.
So it won't even have the subtype God without enough devotion when in play?
Since "God" is a new subtype, we don't know for sure. If it turns out only to be a creature type, then that is correct. But I'm guessing it'll be a subtype that can go on creatures and/or enchantments.

It could also be an enchantment subtype (only). The subtype rules are quite ugly around cards with multiple types.

Per this article from MTG.com, it is reported that God is, in fact, a creature subtype, presumably to the exclusion of it being any other subtype (except for Tribal, of course).

Five gods appear on cards in Theros as legendary enchantment creatures with the creature type God. But they don't manifest as creatures on the battlefield until your devotion to their color is high enough.
The answers ITT have been correct thus far.
