What happens when my opponent blocks a creature with deathtouch and trample with Guard Gomazoa?
Example from a Commander game ths weekend: I was attaching with Hornet Queen token enchanted with Vow of Wildness and my opponent blocked with the Gomazoa, neither of us knew how it would work since the damage would be prevented, we assumed that the token would deal all of the damage to Gomazoa which would prevent the damage. We also debated that since damage is prevented it may trample over but ultimately decided to go with the first scenario, could you wonderful rules gurus clarify for us please?
A creature only needs to assign lethal damage to the blocking creature before assigning trample damage to the player. The fact that the damage will be prevented doesn't matter. One point of damage is enough to be lethal from a deathtouch creature, so the rest may trample.

"[Screw] you and the green you ramped in on." - My EDH battle cry. If I had one. Which I don't.
Trample only means that you have to assign lethal damage to the defending creature. Lethal damage as defined by the rules are "damage equal to the creatures toughness or 1 damage from a source with deathtouch" so the trampled damage still hits you, but the 1 damage assigned to the gomazao is prevented.

Asking people to remove quotes in their signatures is tyranny! If I can't say something just because someone's feelings are hurt then no one would ever be able to say anything! Political correctness is stupid.
Ok I'm jacking this thread a bit but this confuses me a hit. If I attack with a 10/10 trample deathtouch creature and he blocks with a 10/10 creature, could I assign 1 damage to the creature and 9 to the player? Or would that still stop damage from getting through?

You only need to assign lethal damage to the blocker; with deathtouch, 1 damage is considered lethal, so that's all you need to assign to the 10/10 blocker and the other 9 would be assigned to the defending player.
