An opponent had a Knowledge Pool in play with a Capsize in it, I had a huge gyu who would smash him next turn, i play Krosan Grip targeting the pool, can he cast pact of negation[/CARD] before i can cast the Capsize off the pool (he has no more mana and no more 0 cost instants)?
Edit: he casts the pact so he can bounce my guy and stop me from killing him.
What i think happends is he can't: the grip is put on the stack, the pool triggers, at this moment, split second prevents him from casting the pact, the pool removes the grip from the stack, at this point he could cast the pact if he had priority, but he doesn't because knowledge pool's trigger is resolving, at this point i choose Capsize from the pool targeting the pool, he could cast the pact now but its not enough since my guy (its actuali his eldrazi titan but that's irrelevant) is gona anihilate him out of the game...

Am i wrong?
Your reasoning is precisely correct. He cannot cast pact, you get to choose a card from knowledge pool before your opponent can do anything.

Asking people to remove quotes in their signatures is tyranny! If I can't say something just because someone's feelings are hurt then no one would ever be able to say anything! Political correctness is stupid.
He can't cast a spell while the Grip is on the stack, which it will be until the Pool trigger lets you cast something from the pool. Then he could respond with Pact and have the pool exile it to cast something else from the pool. But the Capsize is already on the stack.

Your understanding is correct. But why can't he pact the capsize? The krosan grip is off of the stack, so split second doesn't stop him...
He could then, but the pool would exile the pact and make him cast another spell.

And yeah, he could cast the pact in response to the capsize hitting the stack, then the pact gets exiled and he could cast someting else off the pool, but there was nothing in the pool that would stop my guy from anihilating him out of the game (actually his own kozilek casted off the pool to be precise XD)
