Now obviously in the graveyard/hand/library whatever the CMC of Dismember is 3, but if you end up paying one colourless and four life to cast it, does it have a CMC of one or three while it's on the stack?
I'm not really sure if it it ends up as 1 the same way Fireball does if x=0, or if it ends up being CMC 3 the same way alternative costs interact while on the stack.
CMC cost never changes. Being Snow or Phyrexian doesn't change how you find the CMC of a spell (adding everything together). It is also not an alternate cost, much like how picking one color on Hybrid instead of the other isn't an alternate cost.

Everyone knows that good luck and good game are such insincere terms that any man who does not connect his right hook with the offender's jaw on the very utterance of such a phrase is no man I would consider as such.
It's like the rule for paying alternate costs. Force of Will's converted mana cost is always 5, for instance. To calculate CMC, look in the upper right hand corner and add up the CMC of all the symbols you see there. Phyrexian mana and normal hybrid count as 1. Monocolor hybrid counts as 2. X is 0 anywhere but the stack and equal to the announced value of X there.
Maybe this reality is actually an alternate reality of a reality in which New Phyrexia was the joke expansion and Mirrodin Pure was the obvious expansion, except our reality is the Time Shifted reality which is opposite of that other reality which is that actual reality.
I'm not really sure if it it ends up as 1 the same way Fireball does if x=0, or if it ends up being CMC 3 the same way alternative costs interact while on the stack.
