Well, Glaze Fiend won't be blocking anymore, since it will have left play, but the attacker is still blocked. Being blocked doesn't require having a blocker presently blocking it.
Since the attacker is a blocked creature, but there is not creature blocking it, it won't deal any combat damage unless it has trample. (If it has trample, all its combat damage will be assigned to the defending player or the planeswalker it's attacking.)

I see. so If the attacker had trample and was 10/10 and my creature was 3/3 and i blocked with it and it was still in play when damage is assigned, then everything just happens normally, correct? (my guy dies and i lose 7 life)

Yes. Your guy dies, and you lose up to 7 life. The attacker's controller could choose to assign more than 3 damage to the blocker, in which case you'd take less than 7 damage.

I played my first game with the new rules and I came across the following problem.
I attacked with a Simian Spirit Guide, my opponent had a Llanowar Elf in play but he did not block. With the new rules do I get a chance to cast my Brute Force after he has declared no blocker?
