What happens here? My guess is the savannah lions will be sitting on my opponent's side.
Apparently, no.

Q: I have Puca's Mischief in play, and I have enchanted my opponent's Grizzly Bears with Control Magic. Can I exchange control of my stolen Grizzly Bears and my opponent's other Grizzly Bears with Puca's Mischief, and get the first back as a static ability from Control Magic?
A: No, the last control effect applied to the Grizzly Bears (in this case, from Puca's Mischief) will determine who controls it. The fact that Control Magic has a static ability does not cause the change of control effect it generates to be applied later.
So... though your opponent will control the Threads, you will control the Lions, due to timestamp order.

But say Lich's Mirror triggers will the savannah lions come to my side?
It should remain in play (under your control) and your Threads, and other permanents you own, will be shuffled into your deck.
So... though your opponent will control the Threads, you will control the Lions, due to timestamp order.
this is the part I do not understand... if my opponent controls the threads after the switch, should'nt the lion be under his control then? (as in I control the lions, but because the threads are on it, my opponent has the lions on his side of the table)
I suspect my not understanding here is due to the timestamping issue.... I'll check up on that
You can't exchange control of the threads and the lion because you control them both at the moment, and Puca's Mischief cares about the controller of the permantents, not the owner.

Well, my understanding was from extrapolating the Control Magic question on SCG. Apparently, it doesn't work anyhow (as Timlock Smash pointed out).
However, let's say in your initial scenario, your opponent had another Lions, and you tried to exchange it for that... or, is that changing the scenario too much?
Haha, touche.

I think that's bound to happen when pondering timestamps at 6AM.
I'm pretty sure that in that scenario each player would end up with a lion, you would control one from Puca's effect, and your opponent would have one via the Threads which they now control.

hmmm what if I switched the lion enchanted by the threads, with the other lion controlled by my opponent.....
ahhh thank you both for clearing that up
hmmm what if I switched the lion enchanted by the threads, with the other lion controlled by my opponent.....
would I get one or two lions..... ?
One, you would have the non-Threaded lion, and your opponent would have the Threaded lion. Because the control effect from the Puca's has the most recent timestamp and would override any previous control effects (the Threads). Basically, if you enchant a lion with Threads and then another effect causes control of that lion to change, the Threads won't matter unless the second control effect ends.

if I have in play, a Puca's Mischief , Threads of Disloyalty enchanting a 1cc critter say savannah lions, and Lich's Mirror
on upkeep can I exchange the Threads of disloyalty for the savannah lions ?
