So I have a question. Since the first player doesn't draw a card, I heard something about the game starting in the first main phase of the first turn. Is this correct and could I get a rules citing for either.

Asking people to remove quotes in their signatures is tyranny! If I can't say something just because someone's feelings are hurt then no one would ever be able to say anything! Political correctness is stupid.
101.5a In a two-player game, the player who plays first skips the draw step (see rule 304, "Draw Step") of his or her first turn.
The player will have an untap and upkeep phase (though neither of them are usually relevant), but skips their draw step. Play then continues as normal. -Jack

If this was correct, then the Hulk Flash deck could not pull of the epic "Turn 0" win before the opponent gets to play a card. The turn 0 win is performed when going second, meaning on the first turn of your opponent, who does not draw a card. If the game started during the first main phase of the first turn, then the opponent would have the opportunity to play (optimally) a land of his or her choosing and one spell or ability before the opponent could respond.
So, as was stated above, you are incorrect about that... and normally the upkeep step doesn't matter on the first turn if you are going first, but the Hulk Flash deck is an example of when it does.

Actually that's what brought the discussion about. Was hulk flash. Hmm okay thanks for the answers.
